Where on this site is the info on starting your own journal????? I keep reading and rereading all the "newbie" stickies. I know there was a link somewhere with info, but I put off starting it (for some ridiculous reason I don't even remember). So please help!! Where is the info on starting? Do I just post there?? I know it was in a thread or sticky somewhere...
I must be stupid.
Help!
LM :(

(Hee-hee! I love my ridiculous first post. Being a newb is tough ya know... *sigh* what am I going to do with my HTML-incapable self?)

I'm so excited to have my own journal here. I can be so computer incompetent sometimes. :sigh:

Well, I'm 22 and 5'6" and my starting weight was 156.5 lbs. I love chocolate and that's probably why I ended up overweight in the first place. Oh yeah, and that whole being pregnant thing... Got married to my HS sweetie in '04 and 2 months later. BAM!!!! I don't know how it happened. :? Anyways, I went from 145 up and up to about 205. SCARY! My pictures are unnerving, esp. b/c I thought it could never happen to me. Thankfully I lost about 25 after I had my beautiful 7lb baby. Then stayed at 183 for I don't know how long. I think like a year or so. It was like Feb. of last year and I realized I didn't want to spend another summer in a "fat" bathing suit. So I went on a crazy 1000cal diet. and lost 19 lbs. and then...the plateau.
At any rate, I never made it into a bikini last summer. Despite my exercising and "light" eating, I just couldn't do it. So in the fall I switched it up and did Slimfast. Those shakes aren't half bad. Lost another 9 lbs. Plateau. BLAH!
So, this girl I know had a baby and she gained a lot of weight too and she found the "Body Makeover Diet" where you Could Maybe Possibly lose 30 lbs in 6 weeks. I checked it out. There was just no way. It was like eating 6 full meals a day, but smaller portions. I thought, there's no way I'm gonna grill 6 chicken breasts and boil all that rice and pasta and then eat it! There's veggies too, but that I can handle. So instead, I started doing some real investigating on my own. TADA! So here I am after purchasing the book and the orange cookbook and I've already lost 5 (okay 4.5) lbs. (darn that T of M)

Menu:

B: veggie omelet with a little mozz., 2 slices of turkey bacon, 6 oz V8
S: slice of Colby jack cheese
L: turkey burger (no bun) w/ swiss, mushrooms, lett, tom, pick, garlic mayo, steamed broccoli
S: 20 peanuts
D: small piece of grilled London Broil, oven roasted veggies, 1 c. 3 bean salad (homemade with splenda)
D: small (1/2 cup?) scoop of Splenda low-fat ice cream

I know, I know, Ice cream is supposed to be a treat. It was!! The first time I've actually cheated since I started, and I'm on day 10. Most of the time I have the ricotta or a SF Popsicle. I also think I could've had more veggies, but we were out most of the day...(insert excuse here)
Well, glad to be here and I love this forum already. Everyone is so helpful. I checked it out a whole bunch before I joined whenever I had a question, but everyone here is so nice! Anyways, this is long enough. I look forward to being a hot mama one day!

Pretty good day today, at least in the eating department. I was so tired this morning I couldn't get out of bed. Had a few cravings today, but I managed. I'm sure it was just the ice cream. Anyways, nothing happening, so here's the menu:

B: veggie omelet (no cheese), 2 slices Can. bacon, 6 oz V8
S: 3 bean salad, 2 TBSP nat. PB
L: One lean pork chop, sauteed green beans w/ bell peppers, salad w/ ranch
S: cottage cheese
D: Deli ham on a salad w/ mozzerella, vin. & oil
D: mocha yogurt

Fluid: 6-7 glasses of water, 1 glass of milk, and 1 glass of V8
E: none today

Not a huge fan of the yogurt instead of the ricotta, but I bought a big thing of yogurt b/c it's cheaper than ricotta. So I guess I'll have to deal. At least I can still have my chocolate fix.
That's all for today. Nothing happening in this lady's life.
Thursday starts Phase 2!

Another day...
Felt good today. I lost that pound I gained, so I feel a bit encouraged. I can't help but get on that darn scale every day. I'm down to once a day, but so far I can't seem to break away. Ah well. Didn't exercise today either. Know I should, but haven't much. Gotta get back in the habit. I can't wait for warmer weather. Then at least I'll walk outside.

B: Fried eggs in Pam, 2 sl. turkey bacon, V8
S: None! Too busy!
L: cottage cheese, 3 bean salad, raw broccoli w/ TBSP ranch, 2 TBSP nat. PB
S: SF jello
D: Chicken marinara with bell peppers and onions
D: mocha yogurt

Fluid: 8oz milk, 6oz V8, 48oz water
E: none

I could've done better today, but it sure doesn't help that my veggie bins are almost empty. I'm saving the last of my lettuce for a salad for at work tomorrow and everything else I ate today. Just running low on most stuff, but trying to hold out 'til Wed. I'm sick of going to the store every day, and I'm going to start buying fruit now. Don't want to stock up too soon or it'll rot before I can eat it all. Blah...
That's life I suppose. It's not supposed to be easy.

Still nothing happening in life today. I must be the most boring person on the planet. Had Jujutsu today and worked up a bit of a sweat. Not like real exercise, but I just can't get myself to work hard yet. I'm struggling with changing my eating habits as it is; I really don't want to push it.

B: Eggs with shrooms, 2 sl. Can. bacon, V8
S: cottage cheese with 5 cherry tomatoes
L: leftover pork chop from sunday, double portion of 3 bean salad, sf jello
S: 2 TBSP nat. PB, veggies with ranch dip (I was SO hungry!)
D: tuna salad w/ onion (1TBSP rf mayo) on salad
D: mocha yogurt

Fluid: 8oz milk, 6oz V8, 44oz water (not enough!)
E: jujutsu

I hate how empty my fridge is. I had to make spaghetti for the hubbie and baby b/c I just didn't have anything else and they don't like tuna fish. :( Oh well. Tomorrow I'm doing my extreme grocery shopping and will hopefully be well stocked for at least a week to a week and a half. I always have to go back for more lettuce, but other than that it seems okay.

Empty fridge ... bleh. I know that feeling (even though I only have to cook for me, I still cook.)

Congrats on your weightloss so far. You're doing a great thing for yourself in changing your WOE so don't be too mean to yourself if you can't get the exercise thing down just yet. Be proud of the veggies and eggs and tasty beachy foods! Now if you can just get hubby to play along ...

Thanks Inspired. :)
It really is hard to change something in life, and I know that even if I never get to my goal weight, I've made good choices for myself. This is the last and only "diet" I ever want to be on for the rest of my life b/c it's the happiest I've ever been on my weight loss journey. I wish I had looked into this sooner. I thought it was a fad. Ah me. If my husband would Try to eat everything that I do, I would be so proud, but for now, I accept that he is the way he is. So many Beach foods are so good that he participates a little, but I don't know that he'd eat 4 1/2 cups of veggies a day. Heck, I can hardly do it, and I enjoy them!
On a different note, tomorrow's the big day. PHASE 2! I'm scared... :(
It's not that I've lost tons. It's that I'm afraid that I'll start gaining weight by adding those "evil" carbs back in. But they're not bad! I know they're not! I've already planned out my first thing. I'm gonna have an apple and PB. I'm excited. And SCARED! Somebody hold my hand!!!!!
Anyways, I feel like I bombed my last day. I was so full after lunch. I didn't have any bad foods; I didn't want them. I just think I ate too much.

B: Omelet w/ shrooms, red and green pepper, onion, no cheese 3oz V8 (I ran out! :( )
S: 2 TBSP PB
L: garden salad with ranch, broccoli (raw), bowl of chili
S: none, not hungry
D: 5 ridiculously thin slices of pork loin, lots of cauliflower (probably 1and half to 2 cups)
D: sf jello

Fluid: 3oz V8, 12oz milk, 40oz water (again not enough! what's wrong with me????)
E: none, went grocery shopping instead :D

SO I HAVE FOOD NOW!
still scared though. has anyone ever gained weight without straying from the diet? i'm not worried about cheating. i'm over that now. i'm worried about failing for no reason at all...

LM

we need a worried emoticon.

Hi Lady Moonlight!

(love your icon! *likes anime*)

Wow, it sounds like you already have a lot of success so far!

Don't worry, your husband will come around. There are lots of SB recipes out there. I ran into the same trouble with my fiance. He hated a lot of the SB foods I cooked. But now, I know the ones he will tolerate, so I make those and we both eat it. (He refuses to give up soda though, so I don't know if he will see any benefits.)

Good luck on phase 2!

Wow thanks so much! It's funny b/c I made the savory chicken saute tonight and he loved it! And he ate the steamed green beans. I didn't bother making him a salad though. That's a once-in-a-while thing for him, and I didn't want to push it. Had a great Phase 2 Day 1. Not too scary at all. My apple with PB gave me heartburn though. I was so sad, but it was yummy and I don't crave anything, so that's a good sign.
It's nice to have fellow anime lovers out there. We have the entire Sailor Moon series from the original to Stars. (It's how I first came to know anime) Most of it's in Japanese w/ subtitles. (Good practice for me!) We have a ton of other stuff too: Cowboy Bebop, Magic Knights Rayearth, Trigun, etc. plus movies too, like Perfect Blue, Akira, Princess Mononoke, etc. We pretty much love all things Japanese (except sushi, though I haven't tried all kinds yet)
Thanks for the encouragement.

B: mushroom omelet w/ mozz., turkey bacon (2), V8
S: apple w/ nat. PB
L: Turkey salad w/ ranch, pickles spears (3), sf popsicle
S: none, worked late
D: Savory Chicken, Green beans, salad w/ ranch (1 TBSP)
D: Haven't decided yet! (probably mocha yogurt again)
Fluids: 16oz milk, 6oz V8, 30oz water (so far!)
E: none yet

SBD wa totemo tanoshii desu ne. :D
(SBD is very enjoyable isn't it?)

Well, here it is...another day. And I'm just depressed. I've been doing okay so far on Phase 2, even lost a couple pounds (though I'm not going to update the ticker just yet.), but I feel so crappy. Everyone around me is eating "fun" food like brownies and pizza and candy. I get so depressed b/c while I'm not hungry or necessarily "craving", I still want to partake in the fun-ness of it all. This morning, my MIL made pancakes with pork bacon and sausage. I wasn't even hungry from my omelet earlier, but I wanted to eat anyways.
Last night, I even indulged a little by stealing the cheese from a couple squares of pizza. I figured, it's only sort of cheating, right? I wasn't eating the crusts, but I know the cheese wasn't very healthy either.

Just feeling rather worthless despite losing 2 lbs. in the first 3 days of Phase 2.

I'll post a menu later. Been eating apples with PB as my mid-morning snacks. They kill the desire for sugar, but they don't cheer me up much...

B: omelet w/ gr. pepp. onion and cheddar, 6oz tom. juice
S: apple w/ PB
L: beef w/ broccoli, spicy chicken w/ peppers, side of veggies (from Panda Express No MSG)
S: none
D: Chicken w/ salsa, ff refried beans
D: 1/2 c. sf lf choc. ice cream
Fluid: 6oz tom. juice, 52 oz water (never enough!), 8oz milk
E: Does perusing the mall for 3 hours count?? (no)

Beans count as veggies, right???? I thought they did...?
*sigh* still depressed, sort of. The ice cream was worth it. I figure I'll just have one serving a week and that shouldn't be too much. I guess I'll figure out real soon if it is.
Bought a dress today, it's really pretty. Can't wait to wear it next weekend. Hopefully I'll stay on track. I don't see why I wouldn't. I just need to eat more meals at home, so that I can be sure to get the good stuff. I'm hoping to add another carb soon. Maybe Monday? The apples don't seem to make me crash or anything. That's a good sign.

Well, I'm paying for that ice cream. I regained those pounds (just 2). I guess I should probably do a ff sf pudding or something instead. And a little exercise wouldn't kill me.
I'll try not to b**** and moan too much.

B: apple w/ PB, 2 slices of turk. bacon, 6oz V8
S: cottage cheese with red pepper
L: 1 cabbage leaf stuffed with gr. beef, onion, grn. pepp., 1&1/2 c. broccoli salad w/ onion, sunflower seed, and vinegar w/ Splenda
S: mocha ricotta
D: grilled turkey burger (small, no bun) w/ 1/2 slice of swiss and dijon, salad w/ 1 TBSP ranch, oven roasted veggies
D: vanilla yogurt creme (instead of ricotta)
Fl: 12 oz milk, 6oz V8, 48 oz water
E: none really, DDR but I didn't work at it...so it doesn't count

I had a sweet tooth today. Probably from the ice cream, but at least it was satiated quickly w/ the ricotta and yogurt. Just feels like I'm not progressing at all. I know that the weight will most likely stall. I guess I should go for upping the water and the exercise.

Wish me luck!
