Fudge Pops

Postby Future 6 » Mon Apr 26, 2004 3:04 pm

Question please~I just bought the Healthy Choice Fudge Pops. The box reads: No sugar added. The ingredients lists Aspartame, yet in the Nutrition Facts area (cal, fat, carbs etc..) it reads

Total Carbs 13
Diet Fib 0g
Sugar 2g
Sugar Alcohols 3g
Protein 3g

Are these safe to have?

What is the best Fudge Pop to buy? HELP! & Thanks

I'm anxiously awaiting some replies to this post. I have only seen Healthy Choice and Atkins sugar free fudgecicles. Both have more than 75 calories. Anyone have any other brands of sugar free fudgecicles we should look for? Thanks.

Hi!
I just bought carb smart fudge pops and they also have about 100 calories. I'm also interested in knowing if these are still OK for desserts or even snacks?
Thanks.

Tofutti

Postby ottopunk » Mon Apr 26, 2004 5:29 pm

Our treat limit - at least on p1 is 75 cals a day so I would think that any fudge pop over 75 cals would off limits.

I buy Tofutti brand frozen fudge treats. They are dairy & sugar free. I buy them at Trader Joes or Whole Foods. They are sooo good and only 30 cals. I use them to make the frozen fudge, pb and cool whip desserts.

Tofutti also makes other frozen dairy free treats that are dairy free, without butterfat or cholesterol. I believe they have sugar free frozen treats as well. Just be sure to check the box.

Here is the Tofutti link: http://www.tofutti.com/

I buy the Weight Watchers "Smart Ones" Chocolate Mouse bars. They are 40 calories, 1 gr fat. Made with Nutra Sweet. It does say sugars 3 grams - but I think that comes from the milk. Needless to say - they haven't hindered my loss but I try to keep to 1 a day.
Blessings!

Blue Bunny has a "Sweet Freedom" line. A few of their things fall under the 75 calorie mark and they're awesome!

Fudgsicles

Postby jonalisa » Mon Apr 26, 2004 8:08 pm

In the SBD Blue Book, Fudgsicles-sugar free is listed in Phase 1 Foods to Enjoy.
I also read the same thing (maybe in the Good Carbs/Fats Book?) , but it was listed as Fudgsicles - No sugar added.

Fudgsicles is actually a brand name in fudge pops. So I took it to mean that brand.
I bought Fudgsicles-No sugar added and they are 45 calories each - really good, really rich and creamy. There were no sugar free fudgsicles (Made by Fudgsicles brand) that I could find.

This was a mistake in the book. You bought the right ones and, yes, they are really good! :D

Blue Bunny's are SF and good and only 35 calories, so if you have to have 2--it's right at the 70 mark! :)

Fudgesicles

Postby Cyneburgleah » Fri May 21, 2004 7:47 am

according to the SBD goodfats good carbs guide ..... Fudgesicles (which is a brand) is not supposed to be sugar free but no sugar added. so if you buy the Fudgesicle -No Sugar Added brand you are buying the right item.

The very best tasting fudge pop that you can buy is Klondike's Slim-A-Bear with no sugar added. They have 25 calories more than what is allowed, but they are sooooooo good!!!

Glad I found this thread. I just started Phase 1 4 days ago and recently bought a box of Chapman's No Sugar Fudge Bars...I haven't tried one yet. Good thing too...I just read the Nutritional Facts (didn't think of that before I bought it), and found the following:

1) Sweetened with Maltitol and Sucralose
Calories : 90
Fat 2.5g
[/b]Cholesterol 10mg
Carbs: 19g
Sugars 5g
Maltitol 13g
Sucralose: 16mg

I think I'll be ditching this box!
