well I've been doing sbd for almost 2 weeks... not sure what i'm going to do this weekend at my daughter's ski races. they are out of town so i will have to eat in restaurants and ski resorts are notorious for not so healthy health food in huge portions. But i am confident that i can find something to eat even if i have to jumpstart phase 2 by a couple of days.

I spent the last 2 weeks reading nearly every post on this site... so thanx to everyone for their inspiring tips and advice.

I have already lost 6lbs and have to say it's been extraordinarily easy. Having never been one for dieting i really looked hard for a diet that wouldn't be so restrictive that i couldn't stick with it. I think sb will definatly be that diet. The funny thing is that my husband can't tell the difference between the stuff that's on the table for my diet and the stuff that i cooked for them and not me.

well here's to weight and inches lost and health, pretty clothes and confidence gained

well I am sooo glad this weekend is over. :D no matter how hard i tried I could not find a dish that followed the rules. ski hills do not know what the words low-fat are.... about the best meal i managed was a bowl of chilli (way to spicy for me) served with a multigrain bun(could not actually believe that) and of course real whipped butter(which i somehow managed to resist using.). I think my worst meal was the one I shared with my daughter today. We had bar-b-qued chicken drums(sauce added the night before so no getting around that) french fries(only ate 2, seemed to have lost my taste for them) and clam chowder made with real cream... and to think they brag about this! At least things got better tonight when my husband told me we were going for dinner with his parents(they usually only do chinese) he remembered me and set it up at Joey's Only Seafood restaurant. :o so I had mussel simmered in white wime served with a green salad and a glass of water( it was the best tasting thing i had all weekend!) I'm a little worried about stepping on the scale tomorrow but a little curious to see how bad it really was too.

 I was so shocked this morning to learn I did not gain 1 pound over the weekend. I guess all the excercise I got trying to keep up with my children (they ski way better than I do) wore off any ill effects I may have suffered from the food. I was so relieved to see it hadn't moved(dont think I've ever felt that way about the scale before).

well I haven't written in a while so i guess it's time. I have to say I LOVE this woe. although it makes eating out somewhat difficult it is very easy to stick to. today i managed to put on my pre-last baby jeans YAAA! they were pretty snug but I don't care I was just soooo happy to be able to do them up. and who knows by next week i may be able to wear them. anyhow I'm so glad i found a weightloss program that fits with my lifestyle. :D

Hmmm... i think maybe I've been neglecting this thing. Well it's definately time to resurect it now that the qosb challenge is ending. I have really loved doing the challenge. It has been very helpful it helping me to see how writing things down and checking in regularly can help to keep one on track.

So new goals once the challenge is over:
1. check in with journal at least every 2 days
2. continue to post workouts a week at a time (once they're written they're a lot harder to break)
3. set a new goal and think of non-food reward for that goal

well that looks like a good start. Now that skiing is over I need to find another good family activity to do with my children on the weekends while we wait for the hiking season to start. We can't go bike riding because I have no way of taking DS on my bike... he's too big for the baby seat and I can't afford $300.00 for a trailer. Well this will need more thought than I have time for right now, so I will leave it for a spell.

It has been nice getting to know you!
I too think that the planning is the most important part of this WOE. I picked up on the menu planning but the exercise planning really did help! Hard to not do something when you put it down somewhere! It just nags at you......
Can't wait to find out how much you've lost.... you're going to have to carry me cause those numbers on my scale I think have been burned into the display cause they just don't change.

I have lost a considerable amount of weight as you will see... now if only i could say the same about the inches. I think some time in the next couple of weeks I should start to see more of a difference there. That seems to be how it works... first I lose weight then I lose volume.... I guess as long as I'm losing it's all good.

Here are my starting stats from the challenge... just so I can find them later.

Starting Measurements:
Bust: 41"
Waist: 40"
Hip: 42"

It is amazing how much I have come to rely on this site as a quick source of info and support. I didn't even realize how much time i was spending here until I didn't have it for 2 days. It is so good to be back! Tomorrow the girls are coming over for our spa day end of challenge reward. It should prove to be a blast as they are a great bunch. I am waiting on pins and needles to see what the end results are for everybody... I really want to know who the biggest loser is.

This weeks workouts:

Mon: TBC(total body circuit)x2 1hr walk
Tue: TBCx3
Wed: TBC 1 hr walk
Thur: TBCx2
Fri: TBCx3 1 hr walk
Sat: TBC some physical activity with kids.... weather determined
Sun: TBCx2 some activity with kids.

yup this looks good. Now I just need a new goal. Hmmm... needs more thought. I want it to be reasonable, but not date specific.

Well yesterday I did the 1 hr walk...actually due to errands it was closer to 1.5 hrs; but I did not do the TBCx2. We went out for dinner at the Home Restaurant with DH's family. I was a good girl and ordered a plain grilled chicken breast with Salad and extra vege's instead of rice... only problem was I forgot to ask them how they prepare their vege's... turns out they come with their own butter puddle... and get this... extra butter on the side! I ate them anyhow because I really was hungry, but next time I will know better and have them made sans butter.

Now for today. I already did the TBCx3. Got up earlier for that one today just to make sure I didn't skip it 2 days in a row. Reward for achieving size 12 goal... a new swimsuit. The current one is a 16, but still workable, by the time I'm a 12 it won't be.

Goal for today: at least 6 glasses of water without the crystal light.

Well I am finished with the water... and it took me nearly all day! I am sooo enjoying my crystal light now! I made the peanut butter cup thingy today for my afternoon snack and it was DIVINE! I totally cannot believe I did not try this sooner... soooo yummy! and best of all it's ready in minutes so I don't have to have it ready in advance laying around torturing me. If I have extra SB sweets around I am sooo tempted to just gobble them up so I have to be careful not to have lots of it left over.

Well we didn't win the South Beach Challenge... but that's okay. On the upside I was the biggest loser. Unfortunately my scale is now rebelling and tells me I'm up 2 lbs. Weight fluctuation stinks... although mine doesn't fluctuate very often. It was so hard not to spill the beans when the scale slid down another pound every couple of days...but now I can tell everyone I lost 13lbs on the Southbeach challenge!

Last night I made chilli for supper, maybe not a good idea since I was very hungry and wound up eating 2 slices of bread instead of my normal one. This was made worse because I just learned on another thread that the bread I've been using isn't as good as I thought. To make matters even worse I didnot eat my 2 cups of vege's...it was more like 1/2 cup instead. Well hopefully tonight goes better.

Tonight my inlaws are coming for dinner. These people are die hard about controlling blood chemistry through diet. My MIL has high blood pressure and eats absolutley nothing with added salt. My FIL and SIL both have cholesterol problems and severly restrict their fat intake. So for dinner tonight I am making whole wheat pancakes (hubby's idea) Chicken bacon(84% reduced fat) fruit salad with cool whip light as an option, and a fresh vege tray. I also had my hubby ask my MIL for some side pork because I know she can't eat the bacon.

Well I have to go clean my hous for company!
