Hey - look! It's my journal!
(Cough, cough, sputter ... clouds of dust fly through air, cobwebs get blown off the cover)
Boy, I hate to see how far back I'll have to look next time I'm away ... c'mon, people, give a girl some love!
Okay, let's see ... we left off on Thursday, I believe. Friday was the last day of VBS - lotta praisin' goin' on, especially from the tired (but happy!) teachers/organizers! Ran around that afternoon, out to dinner at the Texas Corral (rainbow trout/salad/sweet potato), then home and to bed. Grocery shopping and other errands Saturday morning, laundry and packing, then left with the munchkins to go to Royal Oak where my mom and her husband are staying while they're in town from Florida (DS#1 had a big slumber party to go to, so he and DH stayed home). Great seeing lots of family, and many, many nice compliments on how healthy and fit I'm looking - yay! Stayed with my grandma and her husband that night, then met Mom for breakfast Sunday morning. Brother and his wife and daughter were supposed to come, too, but after a night of their daughter screaming and wailing all night (she's 2 - they adopted her from Guatemala a little over a year ago), they were worn out and feeling half sick themselves, so at about 6am they packed up and headed back home to Dayton.

DH and DS#1 brought Cypress and met us in the afternoon, and we went to my newly-divorced aunt's new house to warm it and have a big cookout. Big fun! Planned to eat and enjoy, but got carried away with the desserts, so once I got home I got the kids in bed and worked out. Feel better, but still yucky. Sigh. Feeling a serious aversion to anything remotely sweet right now, though, so that's good.
Anyway, we're dropping Cypress at the kennel this morning, then heading to DH's family in the Cleveland area for the annual 4th of July gathering - we'll be gone 'til Friday, so not sure if/when I'll get to check in. Already have my chosen DVDs and step/weights packed to go, along with the little DVD player, so NO EXCUSES! Also hoping to log in some coaster time at Cedar Point - I dedicate this trip to Trashy Anne.
A-Rod's June exercise challenge certainly did me some good ... as of Friday I've lost 7 pounds since June 4th, taking me to an all-time adult low of 145.5! Good thing

- buying new clothes in smaller sizes. Bad thing

- buying new bras in smaller sizes. Depressing, but I'll deal.
Won't do measurements for a bit since I enjoyed the cookout a little TOO much yesterday ... maybe do it when we get back in town. Oh, and maybe pictures -
maybe. Tried yesterday, but the camera battery died (cosmic hint?).
Have a terrific 4th, and go do something fun! Off to peruse some journals.
Vita brevis ... carpe diem!
