I wish state visited medical facilities MORE often! (most people hate it when they come) Everything finally gets CLEAN! Nursing homes actually don't SMELL! I'm sure the residents appreciate it. Once a year though.

Hope your muscles repair!

Anne, if they did inspections more frequently, then there would be fewer problems in the long run. But, until they start springing for more inspectors and fewer bureaucrats in the state houses around the country, I wouldn't hold my breath..........

Yesterday was another endless day. DH had to do a floor job, so I dropped him off and then drove back to the p.i.t.a. customer's place to do last minute stuff to make sure they had absolutely nothing to come after us on about contractual issues. I went over and above the contract (complete with cleaning the outside cement under the entry glass of bird poop, and wiping down pollen around exterior ledges, just to make it look good.......if they have the nerve to complain - I am sooooooooo firing them as customers, I don't care how much it costs us!) Anyway, went back and picked up DH, we stopped for a quick, late lunch at Burger King, and then drove down to MA so he could play in his old farts' league baseball game (they lost). didn't get home until after 7 (we were gone 12 hrs. total). Totally wasted last night, but I'm sleeping better anyway.

Stopped by the local farm market on the way home from church and bought some fresh, local strawberries. Small but tasty! No offense to any Californians, but by the time the berries get here from CA, they are so tasteless. These babies were picked fresh this morning - sweet and juicy. Even DD commented on how much better they are than the stuff I was buying at the grocery store. I'll have to splurge (time & money) and go out in the field and pick some, and freeze a bunch for smoothies and such. yummy!!!

OMG Connie! You are TOO FUNNY!!! You need to travel up in the North Country more - THEN you'll know what I mean!

Had a fabulous lunch and dinner today. We were running late getting back from church (plus I still wanted to stop for the berries), so we stopped and had lunch at Panera. They have a new salad - Chicken Strawberry Poppyseed. sooooooooo yummy! It's loaded with goodies - mandarin oranges, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, chicken, and toasted pecans, topped w/a ff poppyseed dressing. For dinner, I made marinated steak tips (teriyaki sauce, garlic, ginger, minced pineapple, and pepper) that DH grilled, sauteed veggies w/a little of the leftover marinade (summer squash, zuke, mushrooms, Vidalia onion, garlic, red pepper, and a little bit more of the pineapple), plus some corn on the cob (that wasn't so great, but heck, it's not corn season here). I made strawberry shortcake for dessert. DH literally hasn't sat down to a decent meal in about a week, so I was determined to give him something good and healthy. He was happy! So was I - I haven't been eating so great lately either because of our crazy schedule.

Here's to a quieter, calmer week.

ooh, do you have a John Corbett look-alike up there too??? :D

Spotty TOM started this morning - about what I normally expect, but it's heavier than normal (whatever the hell normal is with perimenopause  ). Weight up just a bit (1.6 lb from last weigh-in), so I'm fairly certain that is the culprit. Finally got out the door to walk this morning and went a full 2 miles. I really felt like I had a good pace, especially going back up the hills - not so winded and the stride was longer. It was a gorgeous morning too. No humidity, cool (60), and NO BUGS!! I felt great afterward.

Oh well, back to the grind - I'm playing instead of working!!

well, I do play a lot at work, but then again, we own the business so I can do whatever the hell I want! 8)

Wow, today was an absolutely gorgeous weather day. Very low humidity and dew point, and temp hit 79. Considering it was supposed to be in the mid-80's and humid, it was a GOOD mistake by the weatherman! Of course, they've been pretty much wrong for the past week or so...........never know how to dress any more........ Then again, I have to prepare for frigid temps in the office - the offices across the hall from us are either too hot (summer) or too cold (winter), so they crank the thermostat to suit their needs. So, we wind up either playing thermostat tag (doesn't do any good - they just go back and readjust) or open our windows. Stupid huh? Let out the a/c so I can stay warm and let out the heat so I can stay cool. (I sooooooooo can't wait to move out of this building!)

Hope everybody has a wonderful week - summer starts this week! Life is good! :D

WARNING!!!! WARNING!!!!!!

Perimenopausal mood swing alert!!! I am one cranky b***h this morning! I'm trying really hard not to yell at DH, but he's such a goof normally that he is oblivious to me getting annoyed at his stupid "repetitive man noises". GRRRRRRRRRR

Didn't get to walk this morning. DH had another one of his random waking up in the middle of the night episodes (he wakes up, decides he won't go back to sleep so he goes downstairs to watch tv). Usually he falls asleep downstairs and that's that. But last night, he came back to bed and wound up sleeping in until 6:30. Rather than go upstairs to get dressed for my walk - and wake him rustling around getting my things together - I gave up. (I need to be out the door at the latest by 6:15 to get a decent walk in). Which I suppose is just shooting myself in the foot because now I'm cranky and I'm taking my good sweet time getting ready. ACCKKK!!!! I'm becoming passive-agressive!!! My mother has invaded my body!!!!!  HELP ME!!!!!!!

See, I warned you this journal wasn't safe..............

Few John Corbett look alikes..unless he's aged, developed a paunch, and lost some hair?
