I know what you mean about getting fed up ;)

I've been playing around with my MySpace profile, changing the background picture and trying to fix the color of my interests and stuff so that they show up better and finally found the right color I wanted to change-it's pretty much hit and miss until I hit what I want but it's fun trying.

Dee, same to you, Sweetie! :)

Well, I think we're taking my dad out to lunch tomorrow for Father's Day. I have to call and make a reservation, but the restaurant I have in mind is huge and very accommodating. No clue what I'll be ordering, as they have different specials every day. Probably a fish or chicken dish with veggies. Maybe a salad appetizer. It's supposed to be very hot here tomorrow, so I just hope the restaurant is very well air conditioned! :)

I made the reservation for Dad's lunch tomorrow. Afterwards, I'm going grocery shopping for things like pearl barley and quinoa. Then, y'all will have to teach me how to prepare them. :) I actually printed out a recipe from the recipe sticky for quinoa pilaf. Sounds yummy!

Hey, Ladies! :)

We had a nice Father's Day lunch at a local restaurant. I had a salad (with EVOO and vinegar on the side), a goat cheese and mushroom omelette, and a side of fresh fruit. I was so good and stayed away from the bread and muffin basket! I didn't even have a bite of Dad's dessert!

I did do one bad thing, though. I skipped breakfast. I need to stop doing that. My diabetes counselor says I NEED to eat all my meals and snacks on this plan (she loves the plan, BTW). I just tend not to be hungry first thing in the morning.

Oh, I went to the supermarket and bought quinoa. I meant to buy chicken stock in which to cook the quinoa, but I bought vegetable stock instead! Duh! I looked on the box, though, and it suggested cooking the quinoa in either chicken stock or vegetable stock. So, I'll give it a try in the vegetable stock. Probably tomorrow.

I looked for pearl barley and couldn't find any in my local supermarket. I may have to go to Whole Foods. I did buy some regular barley.

Hope y'all are having a great day! :)

Good morning, everyone! :)

Yankees vs. Mets this weekend. Yanks took 2 out of 3. Yay! :D

Tonight I'm making my favorite feta turkey burgers and trying some quinoa.

I'm still having trouble eating breakfast. I just don't feel like putting food in my stomach in the morning. I'll try some oatmeal (it's easy to get down). So, the oatmeal and the quinoa will be my 2 starches for the day.

Have a great day, everyone! :)

Edit: Board moving sooooooo slowly again! Will have to post in other journals later. :?

I think I need to start a journal but haven't had time to research on how to. If anyone would be able to help, I would appreciate it!
I had lost a pound but after a very stressful week and befriending Cheetos last night, I think a journal would be good for me.
Congrats on the 1/2 lb. Any loss is great!

at the bottom of this page on the lower left hand side is a button that says NEW TOPIC

click it and name your journal and poof you've started it.

Thanks Nessa and NYC Gal! I am hoping tonight I will have time to set one up. Hope you have a great day!

NYC..great job on keeping beachy yesterday!

Nessa, I put the turkey burger recipe in the recipe sticky, but I'll get the link for you. You can obviously modify (I did) to suit your needs/likes. Some people omit the olives, but I love them with the olives! I hope you'll try them and let me know what you think! :)
