what about water?
what about exercise?
I've been heavy all my life and I've have lost 150 pounds back in the mid 1990's on the Phen-Fen diet pills, When those pills were taken off the market my weight went back up. I made a few half hearted attempts to loose since then but my "head was not into it". It was my husband doctor who suggested he try SB. I had heard of it and even gave a copy of the original book to my sister. I did not believe that not eating bread and pasta would really work. Well I'm proof that it does work. My husband has not done as well since he does not follow the diet when he travels and he travels alot. During Phase 1 I followed the the plan to the letter. I never veared. I found the cookbook a big help in giving me recipes that kept the it from getting boring. Then I found all the recipes on this sit. I was set. I know that SB does not do portions but I do and I think that helped with my loss. Also I made a choice not to eat anywhere but home the first 6 months. I cooked all our meals, measured everything I put on our plates. Finding a breafast that kept me satisfied until lunch and lunch that kept me until dinner were trial and error tests. I found oatmeal with 1/2 tsp brown sugar Splenda and 2 tablespoons of chopped almonds kept the hinger at bay until 11:45. I found that once I got breakfast under control I didn't need to snack most mornngs. Lunch turned out to be salad with 1 0z of ham or turkey, low fat cheese, and lots of greens, green peppers, tomatoes and cukes topped with 2 TBS lo cal dressing. Always a serving fruit after lunch/mid afternoon. I'm not a big water drinker..... not much of a liquid drinker of any kind actually. That is the thing I have to still work on and usually I don't drink more than 4 glasses a day in addition to 3 cups of coffee. Once I lost 45 pounds I decided to try a Yoga class and found that helped me relax and kept me focused. I also began walking for 30 minutes 5 days a week before I went to work.
The closer I got to the my goal weight the harder it has become to loose even a pound every two weeks. That has me frustrated and I have not been as good at following the plan however I weigh myself everyday and try to do Phase 1 for a few days if I gain more that 3 pounds in a week.
This is how I've gotten this far.
Don't give up............I'm not !
Thanks for all the encouraging words all of you have left. It helps to keep me motivated.
