Kickin' and Screamin' on the Beach

Postby Love2paint4you » Tue Apr 17, 2007 2:49 pm

I've been wanting to start my journal here for a while, so I guess there's no time like the present, right?

One of the reasons that I haven't is because I have a regular online blog that I contribute to several times a week. Every Tuesday, I talk about South Beach, how I'm doing, and posting Beachy recipes. If you'd like to check that out, you can find it HERE

I seem to be tossing around the same four pounds since week 2 of Phase 1, despite being VERY faithful with eating, exercise, and water. I'm not asking for much, but I'd like to see a gentle trend downward to the tune of about a pound/week.

I track my food on Spark People and I'm averaging about 1400 calories/day. I'm always under on their suggested carbs, average on fat and protein. I also try very hard to keep my fiber grams at least 25 per day.

Here's what I ate yesterday:

B: coffee with non fat half and half, 2oz roasted turkey breast, 6oz tomato juice
S: none
L: 1.5C green beans, 1C cauliflower puree, 5oz albacore tuna w/ 1T mayonaise
S: 1/3 C all bran cereal with a bit of skim milk and Splenda, part skim cheese stick
D: 1.5C split pea soup, caesar salad
S: handful of virginia roasted peanuts

Today so far:
B: coffee with non fat half and half, small banana w/ 2T almond butter, 6oz tomato juice

Thanks for checking in on me!
Barb

Wow, you're fast!

Dinner last night was NOT normal, believe me. I had to be in a meeting and didn't get home until nearly 10pm. By that time I really didn't feel like eating but knew that I needed to. I should have eaten before I left, but thought I'd be home at 6:30 or so. You know, it was just one of those days where nothing went as planned

As for fruit, I was OUT! I stocked up this morning. I love blueberries and normally eat them on my sticks-and-stones cereal. (what is up, besides the price, with the cost of blueberries these days? Yowza, that freeze must have been BAAAAAD). I had a banana this morning, which always serves me well on days where I go to TKD class at noon (today is one of those days!)

Yesterday was a bad day and not typical for me, but I had to start somewhere, right?

And yes, I'd love to be in your posse, of course!

Well I'm back to "normal" eating today, so I'll update later. Now I'm off to TKD class.

Nessa, I'm a good "posse person". I can protect all of you!

Hi there! Definitely not enough food there. I hate saying that because I feel like some (including myself) use that as an excuse to go buck wild. ;) But you said it's not a normal menu so I'll patiently wait.

And getting smaller is way more important then the scale! If you see it, it must be happening!

Hey, Barb! :) Just stopped in to say hello. I did mention to you once before that I thought you weren't eating quite enough food. You told me to pipe in when I had thoughts about your menu, so I am. ;) Try eating all of your snacks, and up the protein, as Nessa said. Overall, I think you're doing great, though.

Good luck at TKD! :)

My office is inside a really great gym. Yesterday my boss gave me a complimentary membership and I'm so excited! I haven't had a gym membership in a while and I'm looking forward to shaking up my workout routines a bit.

Another crazy day brewing on today's horizon. Driving DD to school every day has been a wrench in my routine and makes me late for work. Last night I found that theres three screws in my tire, so now I have a flat and don't know how to get her to school, I'll be super late to work after getting my tire fixed.

Never a dull moment.
