Finally getting the hang of the Sparkpeople gadgetry ... good Lord, you could spend your entire day just logging things, reading articles, chatting ... I'm only using it as a toolbox to track food, water and exercise, though if anyone happens to send me some mail I'll certainly respond.

Feeling better today, though still a bit "poofy." Got creative with the food, and now even with an indulgent evening treat I'm STILL about 200 cals below my minimum for the day. I think I shall indulge in some baked beans ... one of my favorite foods on earth and with an obscene amount of brown sugar to make them extra-delicious ... damn, I'm such a rebel! Maybe even a full CUP of them - ooh! (hand flies up to cover mouth in shock) Call the SB police, QUICK!

Wednesdays are long due to being at both buildings and no planning time ... 10 classes to dazzle and entertain with only lunch/travel to break it up. Fun stuff, but I'm tired and need to do many tasks before bed. Not much time today to journal-hop, so hope everyone's happy and healthy. Word to my peeps - peace out!

B - steel-cut oatmeal, NPB, small Granny Smith apple

S - hard-boiled egg with a pretty shell

L - funky tuna salad (1 and 1/2 c. chopped celery, 3 oz. tuna, 1/4 c. yogurt, Pampered Chef dill spice mix) - darn filling!

S - mozz. stick, half hothouse cuke w/ light onion dip

D - GREAT pizza of my own design! WW crust, tomato sauce, Can. bacon, green pepper and onion, GOBS of mozzarella ... ended up only a little over 300 cals for 1/4 of the pizza! Very satisfying and yummy

S - baked beans, FF/SF banana pudding w/banana and NPB

Over 100 oz. water on the day, exercised this morning, and am journaling now. The scale can kiss my ever-firming butt ... I'm doing really well, darn it!

Hug someone you love, and have a great night.

I did hug someone I love - my DH!

And baked beans are the food I detest the most in the whole world. They make me gag soooooo bad. This is me trying to eat baked beans --> Image

Sounds like you had quite a busy day teaching yesterday - hope today is not so hectic.

MMMMM baked beans, DHs recipe is absolutely sinful, molasses and brown sugar, bacon and ketchup. Like eating candy. Even the kids love his bake beans, DS used to be like Anne, would gag even smelling them cook.
Sparkpeople can be quite time comsuming, and I would probably be better at if if I was organized on the weekend and could plan my week. There's that word again

Mornin' by the way!!

Well, in spite of my rebellious intentions, I did NOT indulge in the 12g-of-sugar-per-half-cup beans ... fell asleep on the couch instead. Ah, well. I think I'll still eat them eventually, just cut them with some plain beans or something.

Unbelieveably, I got up AGAIN this morning and worked out - woohoo! I'm trying to mix things up, so this morning was a LOT of cardio, on step and off, plus some tough planks and side planks for the dreaded abs. Sweated like a ... well, like a woman working her butt off! That's the hope, anyway.

Have a great day wherever you are ... it's rainy/snowy/muddy/gross here, but at least the rain's melting the snow.

Off to do some more fun stuff with the kids! 5th grade first today ... they're still all sleepy, so I get to wake 'em up with a vengeance! They won't know what hit 'em.

I wake mine with an alarm clock...I bought her one and said here, you are responsible for getting yourself up on time. Every day like clockwork she gets up at 5:45 am, no sweat. I never have to call her, ever. It's a miracle! :)

You are doing so well exercising and eating right! WOO HOO!!!

Waking my own kids up usually involves something silly, like singing a song or just being generally goofy. Tried alarm clocks - they sleep right through them!

As for the ones at school, I usually start them off with something involving movement or something loud and fast - plus I'm usually pretty animated when I teach, so I'm roaming around, in close proximity, and that tends to get their attention.

More dancing today, which I think I get to count as cardio ... I'm doing it , too, especially if we have an odd number of kids. I'll have to check Sparkpeople ...

Hope your day(s) are going well!

Good morning, Laura.

Amazing thing about kiddo ~ is when sister or I tried to get her out of bed, we always had a heck of a time waking her. The minute she got her own alarm clock and learned we were no longer responsible for her getting up and ready for school, she did it herself. If we'd only have learned that earlier ~ it would have saved us years of aggravation!

That'd be great if they just kept hitting snooze, but they just don't wake up! Guess I did too good fo a job when they were little getting them to sleep no matter what the noise level was ... they'll snooze anywhere, anytime if they're tired, but they're tougher to wake up just with a noise. A couple of pats on the back or leg generally does it, so it's no big struggle, and they're cheerful and happy, so I guess I can live with it!

They go to bed without a struggle, too - I am SO lucky!

set the alarm to go off... if after 5 minutes they don't get up dump ice water on them.

i bet dollars to donuts in a week they will get up with just the alarm.
