Laundry is, indeed, at rolling foothills level, though I am striving to reduce it to flatlands by next weekend.
That's how it used to be for us with our four kids! I don't know if you do it now, but you should start training your 9 year old to do laundry and get the five year olds started with sorting and folding. My kids were about eight when they started being responsible for their own laundry and it's been awesome! Dh and I alternate doing ours...the kids do their own. One thing it has done is make them responsible for having whatever they need themselves instead of griping at me to do it (which is how it started  "mom, none of my uniforms are clean!" ). I'll sometimes switch over a load or fold if I'm up late and they've gone to bed...but they'll do the same for me. 8)

Anyway, have a great day!

Well, it WAS at mountain-range level, so I've made progress ...

DS#1 actually IS starting to learn laundry ... actually, we're now reassessing what the kids are able to do and making new job lists. The little ones are 3, but they can certainly pick up their toys, etc. It's just tough to reinforce when we've got stuff going on nearly every night of the week - most of the cleaning has to happen on the weekends, so it ends up being a group effort.

Well, I'm a geology nerd, so it comes naturally ...

Okay, REALLY going home to get lunch and clean ... have planning time before, so I'm flexible on when I take off.

Not sure what lunch will be, but need to refill my water.

Later!

If by nice you mean ...

- driving 10-15 minutes home, depending on traffic and weather
- letting out dog, playing with her, then putting her outside to run for a bit
- quickly trying to clean a bathroom/throw in laundry/put stuff away/neaten livingroom/whatever in about 10 minutes' time
- throw together lunch food and drinks, try to remember snack
- recapture dog and recrate with kisses and treats
- blaze on back to whichever building I'm at that day

... then, yeah, it's great! If I iwsh to actually eat my food and relax a bit, I'm far better off staying at school and bringing everything with me. But sometimes the house is just too far gone to leave as is when the sax students are coming, or I just didn't get everything ready food-wise, so the option's there.

I don't DARE sit down, as I would immediately conk out and be out of a job if I overslept and didn't get back in time to teach!

The doggy likes it when I can get home, though ...

Now that's a crazy lunch! And I thought the "stuff your face, go to the bathroom, make copies, and chat with friends in 20 mins" was the crazy lunch!

It's all in the juggling ... I can be very efficient when motivated!

By the time I got home I had 25 minutes (traffic flowed well), so I got lots done! Threw a load in the dryer, another in the washer, folded the one from the dryer and brought it upstairs, moved all the toys/dog bones/general stuff off the area rug in the living room and really, thoroughly vacuumed it before I had to take off again. Put the couch cover back on, fluffed pillows and placed them back on the couch and did a quick once-over of the little half-bath after I got home from school in the 10 minutes before I had to take DS#1 to his viola lesson. Why I didn't do all this stuff over the past week and spread it out is a mystery in the mind of this procrastination expert! At least I'm keeping up the forward momentum.

Good day, TIRED, but lots more to do before bed. About to get the munchkins jammied and read a stack of books, then check DS#1's homework over before I send him to bed. Clothes out for tomorrow for everyone, lunches made, my food planned and made ... all tasks that will make my morning a heck of a lot easier. Just can't sit on the couch. Or fold laundry on our bed - I'll be out in no time!

A little scared of weigh-in tomorrow, as I'm quite sure all the treats from yesterday will make their presence known. Tough! I made the choice, I get to see the consequences. Gotta suck it up and place the blame where it belongs! Just hoping I'm down, even a little.

Hee hee ... just had our resident rabbit hop through the yard, where he paused long enough for the little guys to see him. Almost in unison they asked, "Is that the Easter bunny?" Golly, I LOVE 3-year-olds! Such a fun age.

Okay, remainder of the day's food:

L - mix of leftover chicken breast, black beans, stewed tomatoes and a little yogurt for creaminess ... almost like a chili. Can of Diet Coke.

S - Whole grain Wheat Thins, 2% cheddar, can of Diet Coke, 32 oz. water

D - cheeseburger made from extra-lean hamburger and 2% Kraft single, wrapped in a head Boston lettuce w/mixture of lite mayo and ketchup; can of Diet Coke (did I mention I was really, REALLY tired?!)

S - don't know yet, probably milk or yogurt, maybe some fruit

For those keeping score at home, that's 48 oz. Diet Coke to 64 oz. water (my goal was to at least match water amounts), but I'll try to drink some more water this evening and go for double. I exercised for 55 minutes first thing this moring, and I'm journaling now, so goals are met for today! Hooray for getting back on track!

Definitely sitting too long while typing ... need to get up and move. Have a great night, all, and I'll try to check in later if I'm conscious.

Laura

Hope it's another good day for you.
