So I had my first non-meeting of challenge goals - conked out on the couch before I yoga'd so no exercise yesterday. And why not, pray tell? Because instead of coming home and getting my ass in gear, I indulged in a post-treat treat (WW English muffins w/butter and honey, and the number was 3  ). I finished them off by midnight, then proceeded to snuggle with DH instead of changing immediately into exercise gear.

Woke up a little before 6am and went grocery shopping, then came home and cleaned out the fridge and put everything away. Even got some bagels at Panera for DH and kids. But here's where I'm proud of myself; old, not-so-committed LJ would have used last night's overindulgence as an excuse to go all out for the next couple of days, then start again on Monday (and DEFINITELY would have gotten one of the evil 4-cheese souffles at Panera - check out the nutrition info on THOSE babies sometime!). But did I do that? Why no, I didn't!!! YAY, ME!!!!!!!! I bought lots of beachy groceries, then came home and made a giant egg beaters, peppers, onions and FF cheddar scramble to the tune of 156 calories, and am now about to change and do my long-ass workout as planned (after a suitable snack - not enough calories there to sustain me). One day at a time, and today will be a good one!

Hope everybody's enjoying the weekend so far.

Great job on your choices today and not eating whatever for the weekend. Yay you!

Good luck with the workout!

Yay! Back on track and on the weekend, too!

Busy day, but got a lot done, though as always much, much more remains to be dealt with. I shall ignore it 'til the kids are in bed, then attack!

Quick menu:

B - scramble of green peppers, onion, egg beaters and FF cheddar

S - FF yogurt and strawberries

L - cheeseburger salad (see yesterday's menu for description)

S - string cheese

D - fake crab, FF cheddar, ricotta - heated in microwave and mixed up with cracked black pepper, V8

S - either hot milk with SF syrup or more yogurt with NPB

E - busted it out and did an hour-long DVD that includes step, weights, aerobics and abs - sweated immensely and loved it!

Nothing too exciting, really, but I'm crossing off my goals for the challenge ...

Journal - check!
Exercise - check!
Water ... 92oz. on the day vs. 44oz. Diet Coke - check!

Must now attempt to dominate the game boards. Have a great night, all!

Okay, so I'm technically posting an hour into Monday, but so what? Just me and the invisi-peeps, hanging out while the world sleeps. Been a good day, so I wanted to post before I head to bed.

Cleaned like a fiend until we had to leave for church (thankfully, it's literally down the hill ... less than 5 minutes, door-to-door), then more when we got home. Drove across the state for a family birthday party which turned into dinner and us not leaving until nearly 9pm, then back across the state. Food will be listed below, but I am now basking in the glow of a great choices day - my family even commented that I looked thinner/fitter/really good!!! Haven't seen them since Christmas, so I guess I'll believe them ... it'll be nice on Tuesday if I get some scale verification of a job well done, but I really feel good regardless.

I DIDN'T EAT ANY DESSERT!!! NOT ONE COOKIE, CUPCAKE, PIECE OF BANANA BREAD OR ICE CREAM! NOTHING! I ate grapes and starwberries and cheese, 1 slice of cheese pizza (NOT any of the gorgeous, overloaded Chicago-style deep-dish) and drank my water. Unbelievable! I was the dessert goddess of days gone by, always trying to find some subtle way to eat an insane amount of them without appearing to do so - and today I sat at that same table and touched not a one. I feel GOOD!

Big plans for tomorrow, first day of spring break ... great weather and a visit to a butterfly exhibit with the whole family. Good times! Happy Monday to all the board peeps, real and imaginary!

B - green pepper, Canadian bacon and FF cheddar eggbeaters omelette, V8

S - FF yogurt w/NPB and a banana cut into chunks and mixed in - YUM!!!

L - BIG salad with turkey, cucumbers, FF cheddar and FF ranch

S - strawberries, grapes, 2% cheese cubes

D - 1 slice cheese pizza, salad

E - walked 1/3, ran 1/3, walked 1/3 mile w/ the dog, then yoga at home

Drank enough water, exercised at least 30 minutes, and did a journal entry ... now to bed!

Thanks, Nessa! I feel like this was a big test ... and I totally aced it! Off to a good start today, too ... made an omelette with asparagus, Canadian bacon and FF cheddar and eggbeaters for my aunt who's visiting, then decided I needed one, too - so good! It's a keeper. Off to get ready for the butterflies. Happy Monday!

It's well before midnight, so at least I'm posting earlier today!

LOTS of walking around at the sculpture park/butterfly exhibit ... really, some amazing pieces, and the kids had a great time running around (there's also a big kids' area with touchable, playable sculptures - way fun). Still planning to work out, ut oh, the lack of water today. I'll get it in, but I'm going to be making multiple bathroom trips tonight! That's the price I pay for slacking off all day, I guess.

Wow, exceptionally boring journal entry. No temptations faced, no dragons slain (besides, I LIKE dragons, so that metaphor doesn't sit well with me). Please refer to yesterday for more excitement ... otherwise, g'night and sleep tight!

Weigh-in tomorrow!

Oh, and the rest of today's food ...

S - yogurt/NPB/banana

L - 2 2% mozzarella sticks, 4 slices turkey, 1 c. cucumber

S - 1 c. baby carrots

D - "naked" cheeseburger (if only it were that interesting!), brussels sprouts

S - not sure yet ... probably milk, but we'll see

First weigh-in on the Beaglebug challenge and ... 158.5! That's down 4.5 pounds from my start last week! Now, realistically, it's not going to be like this again ... not eating thousands of calories in baked goods daily and eating a modified P1 with daily exercise AND getting my water in was bound to make an enormous difference, BUT STILL! I'm so glad I finally got brave enough to jump on in (publicly), and what do you know ... the water's not shark-infested! :D

Off to make something yummy for breakfast ... can I say I love spring break? And that my hubby and I actually have the same week off (we teach in different counties, so we don't always). Lots of big cleaning plans for the day, but no rushing everywhere. Oh, and I get to make a phone call and tell a guy he got a job he's been working really hard to get. Yay!

Later once I see how the day's gone, or if an invisi-peep drops me a line!

Have a good one today. :D

Yep, sucks when the breaks don't line up ... that's usually when I take the kids and leave town for a while. Funny how DH doesn't choose to do that ... I grew up traveling by car all over the place, so it's just what we do. DH is learning ...

Anne, isn't it goofy how school schedules can be so different? Even within my state there are districts that take a week off in February and have a later spring break, then ones like mine which don't. Sounds like your trip went well, too! The butterflies were gorgeous - they had such a variety, including these clear-wing ones. I'm a big nature girl, so this was lovely. Plus they have indoor gardens with cacti and carnivorous plants and such ... kept thinking of lines from "Little Shop of Horrors!"

Sadly, DS#2 is under the weather, so I suspect I may spend more time snuggling on the couch than cleaning. Gee, what a shame. So sad. NOT!!!

Thanks for dropping by, ladies!

DS#2 is lots better, and the weather actually turned out to be really nice, so the kids and I ran errands and then I booted them outside! We're actually supposed to get SNOW tomorrow and Thursday, so we've got to soak up the sun today.

Well, here's the day so far:

B - asparagus, ham, FF cheddar and eggbeaters scramble, V8

S - FF yogurt, NPB (1 tbsp.), banana

L - WW pasta shells, stewed tomatoes, LF shredded mozzarella

S - Granny Smith apple w/NPB (1 tbsp.)

D - taco salad (mixed greens, X-lean taco meat, FF cheese, salsa, maybe some beans)

S - can't imagine I'll want one, but maybe milk w/SF syrup

E - not yet, but planning an hour (always a mix of cardio, weights, core/abs, step and low-impact)

Weird day ... we get recycling picked up once a month, and "big trash" pick-up 3X a year, they both happened today, and someone took our recycling bins! We have four big storage-type bins with lids, or had, and when we went out to bring them back up to the house - POOF! Gone! DH was ticked, but really, I tend to think that if you're desperate enough to cruise the neighborhood on these "big trash" days and pick up what looks usable or sellable (and we do get a lot of that) - God bless you and be welcome to them!

Guess we need to go buy some more, now, and make sure we mark them all over so there's no confusion again!

Sounds like lots of successes on the Beaglebug Challenge ... it's keeping my butt in line, for sure!

We had snow yesterday and the day before ~ maybe we're sending the storm your way :-) It's supposed to warm up here and be in the 60s by Sunday!

Unbelievable that your bins got taken ~ but then again, it's amazing what people will take if they can. You've got a much sunnier disposition about it than I would have had ~ I'd have been griping right along with your husband.
