Thanks, Amity. :)

This morning I'm seriously feeling angry and dejected. I decided to weigh myself because I was up all night going to the bathroom and I wondered if it would register on the scale. I was up 3 pounds.

Now, I know my eating hasn't been perfect, but nothing that would cause a 1 pound gain, let alone 3. Now I have to figure out why. Is it that I got only 4 hours of sleep last night? It's not TOM (nor am I pregnant). Is my body reacting to some of the new phase 2 foods I've introduced. If so, the culprits are:

oatmeal
frozen mixed berries
Uncle Sam
lite cool whip
oat bran
brown rice
granny smith apple rings
1/2 a banana
2 ww mini pitas
1/2 a sweet potato

As you can see, I'm hardly eating "bad" foods but maybe it's too many different fruits and grains at once. Still, 3 pounds is like a cruel joke.

Awww, P! Don't be so upset. It's your body replacing some of it's water and gylcogen stores. It really will be okay. And this is precisely why I am again avoiding the scale :)

As for your code name, what is your favorite kind of exercise?

The ones I've come up with so far are:

The Pilates Princess
The Sexy Swimmer
The Saucy Strength Trainer
The Hottie doing Yogalates
Princess Walks-a-lot

I like them all, but then again, I made them up 8)

Hey p,

Exactly what queen said! When did you start phase 2? Did you do the transition of 1.25 and 1.5 and so on? It seemed when I got to 2 grains a day thats exactly what happened to me. I gained 2 pounds. I got upset but just continued doing what I was doing and it took about a week but I had then dropped those two pounds I gained and dropped an additional 2 pounds. Don't get too upset I know its pretty frustrating but it will come off.

Now what name are you going to pick? They all sound good to me!

This week's kicking my butt and it's only Tuesday. Urgh! I have lots to say but I really need to crash out since I only got 4 hours of sleep last night. Lack of sleep after turning 35 really feels different than it used to--more like a punishment.

Queen--great names! I'll choose Princess Walks a Lot. It's perfect for me and I'll tell you why in a few days.

Anyway, thank you Amity and Queen for your encouragement. I was not happy driving home today and kept dreaming of pizza--but there was no way I could "face" you guys after doing that. So thanks for keeping me in line. Still, I had too many calories today, at least for being in weight loss mode. More later.

Does decaf count as water? (If so, add another 12 oz to my water today.)

B: Oatmeal, berries, milk, turkey bacon, coffee, ff 1/2 & 12/
S: smoked salmon
L: Salad (lettuce, cuke, tomatoes, mushrooms, garbanzos & cannellini beans, turkey pastrami, lite blue cheese dressing)
S: granny smith apple rings, 1/2 apple, laughing cow, plus crackers, cheese and fruit at a reception
D: lazy person's cabbage rolls; broccoli soup
S: fudgesicles, cool whip, hot chocolate

Water: 74 oz (see above?)
Calories: 1771

Hey p,

Sorry you are so stressed out. Hopefully it will get better. I know what you mean about the sleep and I am 28. If I don't get enough I am so grumpy and it was even worse before I started to lose weight.

Ooohhh pizza.....I mean thats right! Good for you for overcoming that darn awful craving. I dream of food too.

You should be really proud of yourself p! You are doing a great job for the sometimes hectic lives we lead.

When you have some time feel free to vent. It always makes me feel better.

Keep up the good work I know you can do it!! :D :D

Now we have to rig it so that you, Amity, and I can be on the same team

Thanks for being impressed, but I gotta say, it's not that impressive. When my choices end up being the cafeteria or what I brought, I gotta go with what I brought (especially with my weird "Don't Waste Good Food" mentality. Thanks, Middle America! "The Clean Plate Club" is so good for you! ).

Take today for example... My delicious grilled chicken breast (that were marinated to perfection and grilled to that perfectly juicy consistency) with a large mix of greens, or some sort of short ribs or scary-looking mexican lasagna thing in the cafeteria? After eating it that cafeteria for 6 months, I know that the food just isn't tasty enough to bother with, SB or no SB!

And I gotta tell you, Princess Walks-A-Lot, I read your journal whenever you post, and you are doing a fantastic job, too! :)

Hi P_rincess walks a lot,

So I dropped by to tell you even if we can't get on the same team I will still route for you and the elliptical cookie queen all the way to the end. We are all going to lose a ton of inches and just rock this thing. We can do it! :D :D

And if you don't hear from for awhile starting next week it means I passed out on the treadmill. No worries someone will find me...I hope.

Turkey pepperoni microwaved for a couple of minutes until they are crispy. So good... So not a good night time choice

Queen—Sounds crazy but good actually. I wonder how they would taste crumbled on a salad? My DH loves loves loves pepperoni so maybe I’ll start experimenting with your chips for his sake.

Amity—I hope we all get on the same team, too. But if not, I’ll definitely root for you guys anyway!

I’m still exhausted from only getting 4 hours of sleep the night before last. I was all set to get 8.5 hours last night but really only got 7.25. Mostly because my little dog jumped on my butt while I was still asleep and, well, it woke me up.

DH was not able to find the right battery for the camera at Vons today but he said he’ll definitely get me the right one tomorrow. Isn't he sweet? :) I’m not home until really late tomorrow night, but I’ll post the pix by Friday evening. That’s still enough time, yes?

B: Egg sub w/ a tiny bit of feta (gross, actually); 2 pcs turkey bacon; coffee; ff 1/2 & 1/2
S: granny smith apple rings
L: Lazy Person’s cabbage rolls
S: fudgsicle w/ 1 tbsp pb
D: Enchilada stew; 1/2 c. brown rice
S: cinnabon; diet hot chocolate

90 oz of water
46 mins of walking

Calorie intake: 1414
Calories burnt: 160
Total; 1255

This has been an emotionally taxing day. I have all these stories from this week to post, but I just got home and must crash out so that I can do it all again tomorrow. This week is craziness.

Thursdays this quarter are my super long days. Today I left at 10:20am and didn’t get home until a little while ago. Therefore, I pack my lunch, and snacks and dinner so that I stay on track with eating. However, a friend of mine in class today gave me a little bag with 3 hamentashen for Purim. They’re fruit filled cookies if you’re not familiar with them. Anyway, I haven’t celebrated Purim in at least 20 years and it just filled me with so much emotion that I needed to eat them. It wasn’t even about the sugar or the cookies, it was about connecting to some very specific memories from my childhood. Not very beachy, I know, but I think it was good for my mental health. I only ate half my dinner and didn’t eat my planned dessert, so I think my calories evened out in the end. I’m not sure how many calories they were, but I guessed that each was worth about 2 Milano raspberry cookies.

B: oatmeal, 1 tbsp ea. of dried berry medley & walnuts, coffee & 1.5 tbsp ff 1/2 &1/2
S:
L: Shrimp salad: shrimp, lite mayo, celery, green onion (I was supposed to eat this with 2 ww mini pitas—but I forgot about them!)
S: Granny smith apple rings, 3 hamentashen
D: 1/2 serving of enchilada stew w/brown rice, 1/4 of an avocado

Water: 90 oz
Calories (guess-timate): 1348
:)
