No, no fruit juice. The GI is higher in juice than whole fruit.

Plus, I find eating fruit way more satisfying thank drinking fruit juice.

I do sometimes use fruit juice in cooking, though even that isn't officially okay.

Hi,

I need to know if we are allowed to eat Special K serial, for example with vanilla and almonds? I think it is.

Thank you

Nope. It's not really whole grains, it's rice, it's puffed, and the GI is too high. Guidelines are greater than or equal to 5 gms of fiber and less than or equal to 8 gms of sugar. It doesn't make it on the fiber. And those are the revised guidelines down from more than 8 gms of fiber. They were revised down when they introduced the SB branded cereals and they didn't qualify under their own guidelines. I still go by the 8 and 8 guideline.

And really, it is better to start a new topic with these kinds of questions.

Can anyone tell me if the updated Phase 2 food list (dated 4/11/2005) is the most up to date list? I thought I had run across another list somewhere, but I can not find it....maybe I was dreaming!
Thanks to all those who have come here before me and are willing to share their findings! :D

Looks current as far as I know. The cereal guidelines change was the last one I remember. Was there a specific food you thought was on it or that isn't or you can't find?

Thanks redroxco for the quick reply....there was nothing that I can think of that I had questions about. My husband says I am a sponge when it comes to reading this forum and getting information about what we can/can't eat. I just wanted to be sure this was the most updated list.

Thanks for all your great information! :)

Starting Phase II on Monday

Postby Beentherebefore » Sat Jan 20, 2007 4:15 pm

I lost 8 pounds the first two weeks. I was wondering if that is a normal weight lose. I was expecting to lose a few more pounds. What is the expected weight loss for me in the next few weeks.

I will be moving into Phase2 in 3 days. I am getting very scared.....am sure many of you felt the same!
The list of foods that we can eat in P2 is much bigger than P1, my question is how much can I eat in a day? Can I eat 1 fruit serving, 1 bread serving and 1 rice serving all in a day? Or is this too much? How should I combine the different food choices in any day?
