Wow, it has been way too long since I posted here. There is a direct connection between my lack of posts and lack of progress. Weighed in this am after spending about a week off of plan, and was up 7lbs! Hopefully this is not all actual gain, but I'm so bummed that I let things slide for so long. Today was back on plan. It was so much harder than the days that I follow along on plan. :cry:

Grrr...still struggling to break that darn first mini goal. I wanted to be there by Christmas. Actually, figured I would blow that number away by Christmas. I will be lucky if I hit it at this point as I am still three lbs away and had a bit of an off plan day.

Need to do a better job of posting here as well. It really helps keep me motivated to go back and read my thoughts on progress and pitfalls over the past few months. I am determined to keep this up as I know it works when I stay on track.

Ok, so I am two lbs heavier than my post exactly one month ago. I feel that I have wasted the entire month of December!

Have been doing well the past two days after at least two weeks of eating like crazy. I cannot let January become another lost month so I am going to commit to coming here every day through Jan and posting progress and holding myself accountable. I think I will also post menus here for me to go back and look at if needed in the future. It really helps me to go back and read my thoughts and frame of mind.

Today:

B- V8, 4 egg whites w/ peppers and onions
L - Turkey Chili, green beans with Almonds
S - SF Jello with FF Cool Whip
D - Salad with Grilled Chicken, Fresh Motz, roasted red peppers, chick peas and grilled mushrooms - little bit of ranch dressing
S - NSA Fudge Pop

So lets see, my goal by Valentines day was 210...that is 25lbs in about six weeks. I know that is a bit aggressive at this point. I am going to revise this to be under 220 by Valentines day. This is still very aggressive, but I need to be serious about this and get moving hard in the right direction. More tomorrow!

Down another lb today. Almost back where I was a month ago :twisted:

On the menu today:

B - V8, 3 Turkey Sausage Links (um, YUM! - Next time just one or two though), 1 egg, 2 egg whites
L - Turkey Chili

Hmm...need to make sure I get a bunch of veggies in dinner. More later.

S - Pistachios
D - Lots of Veggies, Cottage Cheese, Celery with Hummas, NSA Fudge Pop.

Oh yes....also made another big pot of Turkey Chili to freeze up for the next couple of weeks. I love that stuff and it is soooo easy to just throw one in the microwave and prepare a veggie for lunch or dinner. This is a staple that really helps keep me on track. So easy and yummy too!

I am already excited about breakfast tomorrow. How sad is that? It is 10pm and I just want to go to bed so I can wake up and eat breakfast and weigh in. Pretty pathetic on New Years Eve huh? NYE is just one of those days that I do not see the point in going out for....I don't want to be on the roads or have my son out with the crazys...sooo, I will just bum around at home and wait for midnight so I can go to bed already!

Also, could NOT sleep last night...finally went to sleep around 5am and forced myself to get up at 10:00 so I did not have an insomnia repeat tonight. My son had the same issue; we are both night owls. I think we just slept in too late yesterday morning and had a lazy day, so we both had trouble getting to sleep. Won't have that issue tonight; sooo sleeeepy! Wish it wasn't NYE....I wouldn't feel so compelled to stay up.

Can't wait to change the sad face to a smiley face for mini goal number 1...ohhhh soo close!

Wohoo....one more lbd this am.

My my this board is busy today. Off to have breakfast. More later!

Today's Menu:
B - V8, 1 egg, 2 egg whites, 2 pieces turkey sausage (YUM!)
L - Turkey Chili, Green Beans with Almonds, SF Jello w/ 1T FF Cool Whip
S - LF String Cheese
D - Garlic Chicken Stir Fry (chicken, spinach, mushrooms. garlic, peppers (YUMMY), 1 Cup Broccolli, NSA Fudge pop

Sooo bummed - back to work tomorrow after a nice long week and half vaca :(

I feel very good about this weekend. I don't feel the urge to cheat at all at this point. Sometimes I can feel myself on the verge of inhaling everything. For now, it isn't even a struggle. I still have not figured out if that is blood sugar or mental, maybe a bit of both. At any rate, while I am in a good place, I am going to go 100%. I am currently doing P1 just because I find it easier to keep in check. I know I need to add some grains or fruit, which I will do once I hit mini goal #1 (2 lbs away). I know P1 is not supposed to be healthy, but I must say, I eat a ton of veggies and lean protein, so I know it is better than I used to eat. However, I must learn to do better with this moderation thing, sooo, try, try again!

Just watching the Biggest Loser marathon. It's good to watch to remind myself that it really is possible to lose the weight. I sometimes find myself thinking that even if I lose every pound, I will still look like I do now; my belly will still hang over my jeans, my arms will still jiggle, etc. I know I won't be perfect, but it is good to see that some of those bellys way bigger than mine are going away on those folks.

Too many nuts today...too little Veggies. On a good note, I would have usually had cheese on the chili and on the eggs. Not today and I didn't even miss it!

Another good day. Ate pretty well today. I also went to the grocery store and stocked back up on the good stuff. Feeling pretty good in general. Would love to see things come off quicker, but I guess I shouldn't complain since I blew it over the holidays and have now taken that back off plus some. Soooo close to mini goal #1. Unfortunately, that is 1 lb more than I was a few years back when I lost 40 lbs. Scary how much I gained back; all 40 + another 45. It has taken me over a year to get this 45 off, so I do believe I have begun to figure out how to make the permanant changes needed. I have learned how to cook and make good choices that taste great. Last time I just straved myself, and worked out every day. I looked great, for about 3 months....but then gained it back plus a ton. So, not this time. I feel so much better and healthy. I DO need to get my ass in the gym though! Thursday is gym day...must make it happen :lol:

Today was a good day.

First - I finally achieved Mini goal #1. Woo hoo

Second - I was able to eat two pieces of dark chocolate and STOP. For me that is significant because moderation is a problem for me. Especially with candy. Very much a slippery slope.

Third - I unexpectedly was unable to get home for dinner and no time to stop for a healthy dinner anyplace, so I went to a grocery store and bought some of those Perdu chicken Shortcuts and got some lettuce, tomatoe and fresh motzarella (sp?) from the salad bar. It was a great solution and I was completely satisfied.

Yay for good days!

Okay day today. No issues eating.

L - turkeu chili, salad w/ little chicken, kidney beans, peppers, ranch dressing

Going to go shopping and look at all the clothes I will soon be able to wear!

Oh well....TOM. That is the way it goes. I know I have not over-indulged, so I do not feel guilty.

I have begun to test myself in the moderation arena. Today I had a piece of toast with my egg white omlete this am and did not feel the desire to consume the enitire desert case in the diner...so far so good. Also had two pieces of dark chocolate this afternoon and did not obsese over it looking for more candy immediately afterward. I feel good. I think the cravings have subsided, but more importantly, I am learning to control that impulse eating. Even better since my weight was slightly up today. In the past, that would have sent me on a binge.

Soooo...more tomorrow.

B - Egg white omlete w/ little cheddar & mushrooms, 1 pc ww toast
S - none
L - salad w/ grilled chicken, peppers, kidney beans, cottage cheese
S - 2 Pieces of dark chocolate
D - grilled chicken salad w/ fresh motz, roasted red pepper and chick peas and a little ranch dressing, NSA fudge pop
