I am so excited that I had a perfect week for the challenge! I didn't miss a single workout and I ate on the beach every day!! I also got the bonus points for drinking all the water. I'm going to continue drinking that much water. For me, it's only a little over 8 glasses, which is what I should be drinking anyway, so it shouldn't be too hard. It's starting to become a habit.

Points for the week:

Eating Beachy: 7 x 3 = 21
Workouts: 6 x 5 = 30
Bonus points = 35
Total = 86

A perfect week, thats GREAT!!! I'm sorry I have to be the downer for the team this week  I missed a day of exercising on top of the day off, and didn't eat on the beachy very well one day. Well, I had some candy on another day, but it was only a few and was good the rest of the day, so I"m hopeing that is still considered a day. I think Pokey said a 90% day was ok. This week is going to be my planned perfect week. Its fall break, so I went home for this weekend, and then will be back to classes and work.....but alittle better since there won't be so many tests. Cya!!

I just want to say how glad I am that I joined this challenge! I usually give myself the week of my TOM off from exercising, because, come on, does anyone always feel like jumping around, squating, and lunging all over the place? But it's always so much harder to get back on the horse the next week, so I decided to stick it out. Granted I've chosen almost all strength training workouts so I didn't have to move as much, and I'm feeling pretty strong by Friday!

Now I just need to make a space in my garage and get my treadmill set up for a change of workout pace.

I can't wait to find out what next month's challenge is! Should be a challenge with Thanksgiving hidden in there. I plan to workout that day, but not stay on the beach necessarily. Just being honest! :D

I did notice that since I have been exercising, all leading up to TOM, I had virtually no cramps this time. I seem to recall it being that way when I was in my early 20's too. I have been determined to get in shape, not necessarily lose that much weight. I've been at 134 for a while now and am not seeing any change on the scale. But I feel so much healthier and stronger.

I am finally ready to have another baby as well . And I wanted to start healthy and in the habit of exercising so I will continue during the pregnancy. My last two kids were only 19 months apart, and while I know that it could have been closer, I never lost all of my baby weight between the pregnancies. I think I was enjoying having my body back to myself that I wasn't ready to give it up yet to a pregnancy. But now I am (my youngest just turned two), and I know that because of my habits now, I will have a healthy 9 months and be able to lose it all the quicker after.

Here's to being healthy in all aspects of life...

Glad things are going great for you!!!! My TOM has hit and hit HARD, I'm feeling pritty sick right now. I didn't exercise yesterday, which is ok I guess since I haven't missed a day yet (YEAH!!!!!) but am feeling sick today so we'll see what happens :? I also ran out of beachy stuff to eat yesterday so I had more shreded wheat cereal for meals than I know I should have. Do you think I should count that as a missed day for eatting??? Not sure myself. So, I'm going shopping for the weekend sometime today too. Cya later 8)

I don't think shredded wheat is that bad. Where are you at on the servings of grain you have added? What else did you eat that day? I would give you the points for the day, but maybe throw this one over to the challenge forum and see what they have to say. It's not like you went and ate a whole gallon of ice cream and a box of eclairs! :D

I think you must also be cruzing the boards right now

For the shredded wheat, I've been having a small bowl in the morning with some milk and a piece of lunch meat or something for protein. Sounds weird but I LOVE cereal in the morning, and its quick. Yesterday I had a bowl for every meal, along with cheese and some lettuce, and peanut M&Ms at work  since I was feeling hungry. But I think I will put this on the boards for questions. However, I don't think I made the extra points for staying on the beachy all week  SORRY!!!! you are doing so great, I feel SO bad that I haven't been.

Another perfect week! Yea!! The exercise has become a habit now and it's just a thing I do every morning. Except for yesterday, when we had my 6 yo soccer game in the morning and then other commitments during the day. But I ended up getting in a workout with my resistance band while watching our tivo'd episode of Lost at 10:00 last night. I almost felt bad only doing 20 min., but when I woke up this morning I'm glad I hadn't done any more.

I'm feeling pretty good, except for the handful of candy corn I ate. It gave me a sugar headache already!

Here comes Halloween....

Total Points for Week 3:

Beachy Days: 7 x 3 = 21
Workout points 6 x 5 = 30
Bonus Points = 10
Total Points for Week 3 = 61

Well, it's the last week of my first exercise challenge. I haven't seen a drop in the scale at all, but that's OK. I'm not too discouraged because I don't have that much further to go to my goal, and I'm more concerned about being healthy and getting my body stronger and more fit.

I have also become more aware about other people especially when out shopping or at a buffet. I know there have been numerous posts on this, and I know it is not my place to judge what other people buy or eat. It just makes me wonder why people make the choices they do (myself included). All I can figure is that food is one of the easiest ways to satisfy instant gratification. If you are willing to sacrifice what the consequences are in the long run, then I say go for it. We are the only ones who are accountable to ourselves, and we have to live with our body and the choices we make for many years to come. Hopefully the good choices will far outweigh the not so good.

Now off of my mini-soapbox and onto my workout for the day!

Becky, So good to hear from you! My husband and I are both originally from Salt Lake. My husband grew up in Sandy between Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, and I grew up in Sandy too, but more towards Draper. So we are used to the winters that we will have here in Pokey, but haven't had for the last 9 years. Hopefully, we can re-acclimate ourselves. :D

How are you doing on P1? You are almost done! Then P2 feels so easy because of all the added choices you will have. Good luck! Keep in touch!

Week Four Plan

Postby meemoo » Mon Oct 23, 2006 11:23 pm

Wow! I can't believe it's the fourth (and last) week of this challenge. Knowing that I survived makes me all the more willing to join next month's challenge. But my plan for this week is as follows:

M: 60 min. Kickboxing class DONE!
T: 20 min on Treadmill DONE!
W: 50 min Body Sculpting class (weights) DONE!
R: 30 min. Kickboxing class DONE!
F: 60 min. Iron Yoga (Yoga with hand weights) DONE!
S: 30 min. kickboxing class DONE!
S: OFF!

I've hit a plateua with my weight loss. My body seems very comfortable with the weight it is at. To try and remedy this I plan to step up my cardio workouts to be be harder and longer. I just set up my treadmill in the garage, so hopefully I will take advantage of that this week.

I'm SO sorry I haven't been keeping up with you!!!!!!!!! I can't tell you how bad I feel about that.....this weekend was bad, I had a 5pg paper to do and a movie review with 3pages on that.......excuses I know, but it was crazy. I made myself do exercises just to get away from it all, still I wish I was feeling as good as you. The scale hasn't moved, its really got me discouraged right now. I have gotten in my exercise today though, AND ate good too!!!! :)

Just writing to say that this is what it is all about for me. All the eating healthier and exercising is so I can have fun with my kids. It has been snowing all day and we got about 2 inches in our yard. We just came in from making a snowman and having a snowball fight. I love to be able to run around with my children and not get winded. The looks on their faces when I chased them and when they chased me with their snowballs is worth everything. (Although, I felt a little like Rocky when he was running through the snow (albeit much less snow) training in Russia.)

Everyone has their reason for wanting to be healthy, and this is it for me. I just wanted to remember this feeling for those days when I don't feel like working out.
