Blew it on July 4th

Postby queenrebecca7 » Wed Jul 05, 2006 3:10 pm

Okay, I had been in P1 for a couple weeks, lost 5 lbs, which I am perfectly happy with and then blew it on July 4th. My MIL makes the best stinkin' homeade ice cream and Texas sheet cake on the planet. SO, I'm planning on doing the P1 thing for another week and go from there. I did work out yesterday morning, did the 40 minute Walkblaster workout by Leslie Sansone. Lots of squats and lunges, definitely feeling it today! I just keep looking at the calendar and plan on being much lighter for my vacation in October. Thanks to everyone who posts, you are all truly inspirational!!!!!

Well, it happens. I try not too depress myself too much when this happens, especially after I saw a couple of pics of myself at the beach...

I am not one with a big tummy but I got wider with my last pregnancy... Hardest weight too loose I think..

Oh, well, I take it one day at a time.. I am 38 years old and not trying too deprive myself way too much.

Rebecca: Did you just blow it yesterday? Because if so you may not need another full week of P1. If you have uncontrollable cravings, add one more day of P1. Continue moving through Phase 2 after that.

bella, my experience in the past with SBD has proven that 3 weeks of P1 are a good thing for me. Besides the motivation from the scale, I need to feel totally committed with this WOE and exercise. I am probably going to go ahead and give it another week and slowly add in some fruit and fiber. Going to use this week to do my research and find some fun stuff to add back in. I just get so crazy thinking that anyhing I put in my mouth will reflect on the scale. And I so desperately do not want October to hit and be the size I am now. I wear 12's, I want to see 10's---comfortably. And that's 94 days from now.

queen, if you feel you can do P1 another week then go for it. I would say however that P1 is so restrictive you might feel like giving up, you know, if you tried to take it too far. Just my .02

Also, one or two sweet treats (even excessive amounts) just once isn't going to throw you too badly. You didn't gain all your weight in one week and your not going to lose it all in one week either. I repeat, you didn't gain it all in one week. It was a gradual gain from eating poorly for months and months. Once in a three week period is not frequent enough to make you gain weight. IMHO.

I also over did it with chips. They are gone thank goodness and won't be bought again until Labor Day.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I am so relieved that I really don't have anything going on the rest of the summer that will be a problem. Holidays are very hard and of course my dh can eat almost anything he pleases w/out worrying about it. Although, I guess he has picked up a few pounds over the past couple of years. He's one of the guys who needs a sweet treat after every meal. He's started eating my s.f. fudgsicles, and I don't know if he realizes what they are..ha,ha! Don't even get me started about chips, dips, etc. I am going to hang tight and then I'm going to enjoy myself on vacation. What I have found in the past though is that I get in this WOE zone and even on vacation have a hard time letting go. But I'm sure there will be plenty of margaritas in my future in Cabo, so until then I can tough it out. I just hate vacation pix that reflect a lazy, heavier me. Blecht!!!
