YEAH! The scale MOVED! I weighed in at 250 today....DOWN 3 POUNDS!!! :D I am so beyond happy with that. The advice I received to fix certain things in my menu seems to be doing its magic!!

10 pounds in 10 weeks is a bit slow, but hopefully the losing will continue and I will catch up a bit too! I had many weeks where I stayed the same and it will be nice to see a more consistent loss! I'm crossing my fingers and toes!

My achilles tendon seems to have recovered. It hasn't bothered me once since Monday! I am so glad I didn't do anything terribly serious to it! That was quite a scare.

The fishies are doing well and everyone is getting along nicely now. The poor shark spent most of the day hiding yesterday and he has been out and about today, which is nice to see! The Rosie has actually calmed down. What we thought was a very high energy fish turned out to be that he was acting out from stress. He was darting all over the place before and constantly swimming up against the glass. He is now calm and serene and swimming in the whole tank. It took him a few hours to calm down after the fiasco of yesterday.

I am hoping for a nice calm, quiet day today! :D

I know - but with how much I have to lose I should have seen more of a loss in Phase 1 and overall. Ph.D. agreed with me and helped me to find the problems in my menu.

Don't get me wrong - I am thrilled with my 10 pounds! I just know my body and know that I am capable of losing more.

Oh - no surgery for this girl! I don't care how much loose skin I have - it is better than carrying around all this fat!

Chances are pretty darn good that no matter what I do I will have some loose skin. That is why I exercise - to help minimize that.

I know that slow and steady wins the race and I certainly don't expect to lose 3 pounds every week....in fact that would be too much.

Until this week I had lost 7 pounds in 9 weeks...that is a bit slow. I was at 255 for 3 weeks, 254 for 3 weeks and 253 for 2 weeks. I am just hoping for something more consistent, even if it is 1 pound a week. I know I will have weeks where I will stay the same and maybe even gain - but there are reasons why my progress was so slow in the beginning.

I have to lose a person too! I was 295 at my highest - which put me at needing to lose 160 pounds! My doc set my goal weight for me of 135 and we agree that I may even need to lose a bit more (I am only 5'2") but we will wait and see when I get there.

I really do appreciate your feedback!!! :D I am just trying to explain my original statement. I don't have unrealistic expectations and don't want anyone to think that I want to lose 10 pounds a week....I know that would seriously harm my body!

OMG! My stupid car! We were on the way home last night and the battery light kept coming on. We stopped by our mecahic and they said that the battery was indeed going. They replaced it and we went on our merry way.

Today I was out and about and everytime I stopped and then accelerated the battery light came on again! Broght it back to the mechanic and they said our alternator is on the way out! They are going to give me a great deal on replacement though - part at their cost and cheap on labor since I have been so loyal! We just have to wait until next Friday to get it fixed so here's hoping it doesn't go before then. No long trips for me for the next week!

Boy - we have put so much into this thing already. My mecahic was joking with me and he said "Hey, you almost have a new car now"! It is an older car so we knew this was a possibility. We got such a great deal on it too and our payments are next to nothing every month. I told my hubby it averages out - you either pay a ton on payments every month for a new car or buy an older used car and pay more in repairs. Although I guess we do end up spending less in a year than if we had gotten new.

Anyway! I love my journal - such a great place to ramble! :P

Sorry to hear about the car. I had a flat Tuesday, old cars are such a pain! Then again, the new ones are expensive. An 18-wheeler hit DH in the new Accord and we had to pay the deductible to have the door and front panel replaced. :?

I think you're right on target with the weight loss. Plus, with so much exercise, you're probably losing more fat than 10 lbs. When I started exercising daily, my weight loss slowed to a crawl (then a stop). But I'm still losing sizes. It's best to exercise and drink tons of water to keep on top of the loose skin thing. Knock on wood -- 60 lbs. and no sign of loose skin yet!

Thanks and yikes! :?

Well - I am right on target at least now! Believe it or not sodium was slowing me down though. Ph.D looked over my menus and immediately asked how much I was getting a day. I hadn't really been paying attention to it and come to find out I was getting 4000mg per day!! WAYYYYYY too much!

I cut back to under 1500 and the day after I cut back for the first time was when my weight finally dropped to 250. It is amazing how much salt can play havoc with our bodies!

Ooooo - I love the sound that I may be losing more fat than 10 pounds too! I am cutting back on the exercise though because I hurt myself a few times. I injured my achilles tendon to the point that I could barely walk for a few days and I also fell once and twisted my ankle. I was having such a hard time getting through cardio and strength training in one day so I decided to space them out more and do them on opposite days. Eventually I will go back to cardio every day...but right now I need to ease up before I do real damage!

Here, here on the loose skin! You give me hope girl! :D

Ten pounds is nuthin' to sneeze at! And with all the exercising, you may be gaining some muscle mass. It could happen!

When the scale gets me down I look at my measurements. Those have dropped steadily even though the scale doesn't always. I measure on Sundays and weigh in on Wednesdays. It's a thing. ;)

You are doing great!

Thank you Lynn. :D

I had a good day today.

I had to take some water to my local aquarium store to have it tested. Good thing too because things were off and we were getting into the danger zone for the poor fish. They chalked it up to all the stress that they have been through this week. They gave me some good bacteria to add in the tank and had me use some bottled water to do a partial water change. They said that should make it all better! I have to bring some water back in 5 days to test again and make certain.

I found out while there that the food we have been feeding them is too big for them! So, I picked up some frozen bloodworms to feed them. Kinda gross but they REALLY like it and it is good for them - so what the heck! Apparently our shark will really thrive on these too.

So that was essentially my day. I did go out to the store to get stuff for hubby and fruit for me. I chatted with Lorka in her journal too. Had a nice lazy, relaxing day....it was sooooo nice! I did finally get my exercise done around 9:30pm and feel good that I got it out of the way.

I have always love Laughing Cow Light but discovered a new favorite way to eat it yesterday. I made some homemade chips to go with my lunch using 1/2 of a whole wheat tortilla. I then kinda dipped the chips in the Laughing Cow - and it was the garlic and herb flavor. Ooooohhhh....yummmmm! Bet this would be excellent with the french onion too but I seem to have a hard time finding that one!

It's been another good day. I took hubby to the office today for his meeting and helped him set up the conference room to. I usually just take off (this is a monthly thing) but it was kinda nice to hang around a bit. He really appreciated the help too and was able to get some things done before people got there since he had extra time on his hands!

When I left I went to Petsmart to get bird seed for our little outdoor feathered friends. Found a new seed that has all the shells removed so it doesn't make quite so much mess! Yay! I was starting to grow a small garden full of safflower seed from all the seeds that fell on the ground. I also bought a better thermometer for the fish tank.

Then I came home and had lunch and have just been relaxing. I have to go pick him up soon and we will come home and I will make dinner. I have to stop at the store and I think I will get a few extra things so I can make some chili tomorrow.

This coming week is going to be a great week! Tom packs his bags on Monday and we get the car fixed on Thursday!! I can't wait for both of them! I really want to go out to the co-op to get some things but it is just too far and in a heavy traffic area - not a good place to be if the alternator finally gives out!

I REALLY need to start getting my exercise done in the am again. I have been busy in the mornings so I have had to wait until later in the day. I have the tendency to want to put it off or not do it at all if I wait too long! Gotta sit down and come up with a plan on how to do it if I know I have to do morning errands.
