Hi RJ-
I see you're really working at getting ready to make the transition. I know you'll do it well. And, I think you're being realistic in doing a single starch, single fruit re-entry.

I was going to go back and add my food to today's post - but it got lost in the "flylady" stuff. LOL so I'll just post here:

Was feeling sort of hungry when I got home from work, made a Big Oatmeal Cookie (SB) - and after I ate it, I felt worse than I had all day - flushed/ queasy / stomach hurting - almost headache.
Dinner was spagetti squash with sauce and some parmesan - I had a small plate.
Then I had a cup of peppermint tea as it always settles my stomach.
Went to the grocery - getting ready for JUNE 1 - and felt better when I got home at 8 pm. Had two small pieces of sausage that I was going to eat for dinner.

Water today was EXCELLENT! 80 oz.

This is going to change - but it will take me time to learn to FLY (finally love myself).

That is awesome! So, I out the door to get FLY tattooed across my forehead!!! Hehe. I love your attitude! I have to always remind myself to take baby steps. I am planning on starting the Flylady thing with you!

I'm totally game. Nessa, fly lady is great for people who work. I work 7:30 a- 8 pm (including commute)-- got home at 9:30 tonight. You do 15 - 30 minutes a night, with two central things in the beginning.

1. a shiny sink keeps the house clean (I swear, thought it was crazy . . . but it works)
2. By striving for perfection and not cleaning unless we can really clean -- we just end up with a mess.
The book is a great place start- - only if you can get it in the library. Otherwise, she posts everything on the website.

nitrot150- I love my lists-- just call me listress-- I actually had typed up our plan and we would keep the weekly checklist on the fridge. . . now where did I put that?-- It's a strange but harmless affliction.

A new day! Wednesday! I decided to weigh today and tomorrow and then hide the scale till the end of June. In the past, I have let the scale dictate my mood for the day. :? I'm over that except for small lapses - but for the next 30 days I really want to concentrate on how my body feels and the improvements I notice - and write them down to refer back to....

unfortunately at this WONDEROUS time in my life (mid 50's) - my brain clogs up on occassion and I forget things momentarily when they aren't written down to remind me... even OBVIOUS things. :x

Yesterday I felt "off" all day - I'm hoping today I feel better. Don't think it's food related as I ate pretty much on plan for Sunday and Monday - and yesterday.

My plan will have to include strict watching of portion control - especially fats and grains... the other items I am in line with, except fruit. Also I will have to ingrain the habit of eating fruit. I don't like fruit - I never think of eating fruit when I am hungry. But I can do it. Luckily summer will bring lots of fresh fruit!

breakfast - V8, deviled egg and skim milk

Woke up refreshed today, felt well rested - but body is still not right. A bit dizzy today - and flushed almost constantly (could this be ONE LONG ALL DAY HOT FLASH?)

Today my mood is blah. Some days I am depressed, some days energetic - and inbetween I am blah.

FLYlady report - This morning I did not have my clothes set out, had to iron a shirt - didn't have lunch ready in small containers, and spent too long on email... end result I was LATE for work. I need to complete my evening routine of having an outfit ready to wear, and having lunch ready to pop into my bag (if I'm taking it that day)... yesterday I had these things ready and my morning was a breeze! HOWEVER - my kitchen sink and surrounding counters were GLEAMING this AM and they did make me feel good!

Feeling more energetic as the day goes on.

AM snack was raw carrots and hummus! AMAZING how good the hummus tasted! yum
L was tuna with 6 triscuits, 1 cup green beans, small apple w/PB

water so far today: 50 oz. glug glug

My coworker is joining me on the 30 day challenge to good health... and we are going to try to walk together at lunch time!

Tomorrow - as soon as I get up - WILL walk 20 minutes.

Way to go, RJ. I hear the weather will be cooler as the week progresses, which will make your walking a bit more pleasant.

You're doing good.

Finished off Wednesday with a Soy shake before dinner - then sausage and spagetti squash for dinner.

Picked up the twins after work - and then chaos reins for the first two hours as they both try to tell me EVERYTHING at the same time! YIKES - I love it, but it sets a schedule off!

PM snack was 1 sugar cookie, 1 cheese doodle and 10 dark chocolate chips - as I thought about doing strict P2 starting today, Thursday, June 1.

Didn't get up early to walk so far - as last night's sleeping was not the best with two 4 yo's cramping my space. But I WILL walk - no doubt about it.

Plans for today are a picnic at the playground with the twins - so glad the weather is cooler. ahhhhhh

My sink was ALMOST shined last night - will finish this morning.
