I started on January 31st, too, so thought I'd drop by and say hi. Keeping a food journal on here has helped me a lot.

The promise

Postby vaniadea » Wed Feb 22, 2006 2:13 pm

GAWD! It's a shame that you folks have added more to my journal than i have! But in my own defence, i've been keeping an offline journal since i don't have much time to devote to the online journal. That may be one goal to add. KEEP THIS UPDATED!!

I haven't received the book from amazon yet, but it should be in any day now. So i have been sort of winging it and doing my best to stay within the food guidelines listed on this site.

my breakfasts are usually a couple of eggs, or a handful of quail eggs and then a red or yellow pepper eaten like an apple. if i have time, i'll make a nice omelette with broccoli and mushrooms.

lunch almost ALWAYS consists of Korean soup. basically hot cabbage soup with tuna or pork and tofu

dinner gives me the chance to change my menu.
salad and chicken
salad and fish
salad and pork
salad and beef
(WHAT VARIETY!!)
taco salad (minus the tacos)
chicken soup
and lately i have stumbled up the ingredients for chilli !!!
WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!

Since starting, i've had one major self-inflicted set back. i inhaled a bag of Peppridge Farm Sausalito cookies. i went from 8 to 0 in about 10 minutes! i stepped on the scale the next day and had gained over two pounds! Ask me how much i hated myself! But i went on. and vowed to not do it again. i had bought the cookies for my housemate as a surprise as those imported foods are a rare find. needless to say, they didn't make it to my house mate's hands

so here goes the first of the commited food /exercise diary

breakfast:
6-7 quail eggs with black pepper
red pepper

lunch:
Korean soup
(cabbage, beef, onions, cayeene pepper and ....stuff...)

dinner:
chilli
cup of skim milk
6 dried apricots

snacks: cashews, sugar free hard candy

water: 2 liters

exercise: walked to work, walked home from work

about 15 minutes each way
(just starting to get the exercise worked in... i've been pretty sedentary)

Until tomorrow... rememememeber.. NOTHING tatses as good as thin feels 9 i stole that from someone, but not sure who)

broken promise...

Postby vaniadea » Fri Feb 24, 2006 6:41 pm

Nice Van

You broke your promise already. But you were busy...

staying on the diet pretty well steady. i haven't had much time to add and philosophical reflections, but perhaps sometime this weekend, i'll have a chance.

breakfast the last couple day have been quail eggs and a red pepper
lunch ...kimchi jigae, of course
dinner : chilli, chilli and chicken, pork and canned green string beans with some butter. gonna do salad overload tomorrow. REALLY have to get this apartment in order for food prep. right now the kitchen looks like a hurricane hit it. (think that'll change your habits?)
