Crystal light and water???

Postby jferheart » Wed Feb 22, 2006 9:04 pm

Does it matter if I consume my 8-10 glass of fluid with Crytal light? Does coffee count as fluids?

It seems like my weight lose stopped once I started drinking CL!!!!!

CL is fine. it shouldn't be effecting your weightloss.

i don't count coffee as water, but some do.

Just remember to count this towards your sweet treat allowance as well.

Pure water is probably the best, but if you're not used to drinking much of it, it can take a while to get used to. Also, some people count tea towards their water.

It's normal for weight loss to stall, especially if you don't have much to lose. I wouldn't necessarily blame the CL.

SO-- If I drink 64 oz of CL, it should be counted as what? A snack?

it's something like 5 cal for 8oz? so that would be 40 cal of your 75 cal sweet treat allotment.

personally, i'd just throw a lemon wedge in a nalgene bottle 8)

Coffee and tea act as diuretics so don't count them as water since they dehydrate more than they hydrate. Crystal light takes away some of the benefits of water in that your body has to work harder (not in the good way) to process the chemicals. To my way of thinking you wouldn't replace a rose with a daisy and call it a rose so water is water everything else is a beverage.

I thought i remember reading somewhere that its a good idea to only substitute maybe 3 glasses of your water intake with CL... more than likely from what doc said above....Water is so good for you ...add a lemon wedge if you cant stand it...but ill tell ya, if you force it down for a coupld days, your body will automatically start to crave it...its the strangest thing :)
