hey there diva ...glad to see you getting on your treadmill...but you do need shoes :P ...put some bandades on those blisters and don't give up...I know I love to exercise it is what is keeping me going because my scale is soooooooooooo slow to respond...with my underactive thyroid and obviously no metabolism this weight loss journey is going to be a long one but if I exercise at the very least my energy is up and I can keep up with my kids better ...and of course I will be healthier ...now if my almighty scale would just begin to move if even slowely i would greatly appreciate it!!I am still afraid to get on scale because it had not moved as of last week!! anyway keep up the good work and planning because it is working wonders for you!! chat later

hey fireplug :)
i always thought mine was underactive as well or maybe
thats what i used as an excuse - just got it tested tho and
never got a call back so a good thing i guess (now i just have
laziness to blame :? )

well i did it!!!!!
we ordered approx 900 donuts and those huge things
of hot chocolate (and let me tell ya it was chocolately looking!!)
at work today and i had to spend almost 2 hrs pouring it and
handing them out to the associates when they got into work

i didnt do so much as lick the glaze off my finger - i dont think
i even really wanted to to tell ya the truth
i used to loooove donuts and now i couldnt have cared less
hmmmm who would have thought?
maybe there IS something to this.....

Wow, Diva Dee, you are my idol!!! :D  :D I am so impressed that you avoided temptation that was literally under your nose. I never met a donut I didn't like before SB; but I haven't been brave enough yet to test the new WOE by walking by the bakery in the grocery store.

I know what you mean about the thyroid thing - I got mine tested too but didn't find out anything. We got a fancy scale for xmas that tells you your "metabolic age" based on your basal metabolic rate, and when I get on it tells me I'm 50! (I'm 29) I want to yell at the thing every time it says that. It taunts me, I swear. :)

Anyway, congrats on the accomplishments: donut- and treadmill-related!

Yahooooooooo!! That is so great about avoiding the donuts! :D

I never thought myself that I could resist chocolate cake and I did. I can imagine your anxiety AND how great you felt after you succeeded!

Good job!!! :D

Hi Diva!

I too am a weight watchers dropout! I started in September 2004 and lost 25lbs in 2 1/2 months, but then I slacked off figuring I was doing good. I kept the weight off for 6 months, and then it slowly has started to creep back on :( A girl that I share an office with lost 75+ pounds on SBD and I got really psyched to try it...it is now day 12 for me and I have done pretty good so far! I don't own a scale, so I will not be tempted to weigh every day. I weigh once a week at the gym, and I can hardly wait until Saturday :D
So sorry about your hurt feet from the treadmill, but VERY PROUD of you for the donut and hot chocolate passing. You are wonderful to be able to do that without even licking some glaze from your fingers...I would have been all over that like flies on s@#t! Totally awesome girl!

It's great that you and hubs are doing this together, that is WAY COOL! 8)

Good luck on your future journey - stay focused and you will get far!

Kathie

thanx zill - kelsey and kathie for the support and stopping by!!

thank god its friday i really dont feel like doing a lot of work today
but it has been like that all week

get to pack for my big trip to toronto on monday
- its for work but will be nice to "relax" for the week
bigger city than i am used to thats for sure!

will probably have to spend the weekend making meal plans
for C and daughter but they should be ok - first time they
will be on their own (he has never had kids)
and she is a teenager (we just moved in together a couple months ago)
so hopefully if they get on each other's nerves they will just
go to their own corner and have a time out :)

Hey Diva!

Good morning to you! Are you excited for your trip? Even though it's for work, it will be good for you to have some "me time".

Leave a note for C and daughter to "go to their rooms" if they have problems. Your daughter, being a teenager will probably just talk on the phone to her friends most of the time...I have 2 teenagers; 1 is almost 15, the other just turned 13 and they are always on the phone!

Anyways, just wanted to wish you well for your weekend and your trip!

have a great one,
Kathie

Hey, Diva Dee!

Happy Friday! :D Thanks for visiting me. I needed the pick-me-up.
I just wanted to wish you well on your trip - I LOVE Toronto. It's such a fun city! It will be nice for you to have "me" time and re-charge a bit, even if it is a business thingie. Hope you have time to do some fun stuff too. :)
I'm sure you will succeed with SB while you are away b/c you've planned ahead so well. I'll be thinking of you on Monday!
Have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous trip. :D

DivaDee - Just read your journal and WOW, you are amazing!!! Congrats on the 10-pound loss and all the discipline you have exercised so far. Handing out all those donuts and hot chocolate without digging in. I salute you. That's awesome!!!

Those garlic lemon roasted veggies sound amazing. I will have to dig out the recipe and give it a try. I am incredibly uncreative with side dishes and too often resort to heating up a pan full of frozen mixed veg. I have tried the mashed cauliflower thing. In all honesty, I can't convince myself that they're "just like potatoes". The smell is completely different, and it would take a LOT of Smart Balance, milk, and spices to cover it up. However they were pretty good, just in a different way.

I really love the goals you set for yourself and have no doubt at all that you'll get there in time. Have a great day and I hope that your business trip is successful!
