cheese crisps

does anyone have an easy and good recipe for cheese crisps? a friend mentioned them to me but i don't have a recipe.

The receipe I have says to cut lowfat cheddar cheese in thin squares and put into the microwave and cook until they puff, then take them out and eat them. The problem is that I can't find anything they dont stick to so I get some paper with mine...they do taste good, kinda like cheese nips, but again, I can't find a plate or container that they dont stick to...

Have you tried waxed paper? If that doesn't work, what about spraying it with one of the sprays we can use?

Does it stick to the paper plates with the wax coating? (or whatever they are coated with on top)

cheese crisps are made in the microwave on freezer paper.......shiny side up...that is the side the cheese is placed upon....
microwave about 2 minutes for two slices......

My mom makes them with fresh grated Parmesean cheese on a non stick cookie sheet & bakes them until the melt, cool & they life right off the sheet.

I've been playing around with different cheese types. I use parchment paper on a microwave safe plate, and microwave on high for 1.5 to 2 minutes.

String cheese, cut into small pieces, makes a nice little puff.

50% fat-free white cheddar from Publix puffs nicely.

Laughing Cow mini-bel light cheddar melts down to a lace circle - more of a crunchy consistency.

In any case, I will probably never eat potato chips again - I'd much rather have this healthy alternative, diet or not!

I cook mine on the waxed side of freezer paper. Never sticks, found out they stuck real bad on waxed paper or even a plate.

Parchment paper works perfectly. I used a parmasean/romano mixture (about 1 tsp. per round) and they came out great! Microwave until browned. I saw these sold in a low-carb store for about $6.00 for a dozen!!

I'm going to try them with just parm as they'll be less salty next time.

I spray a little pam on a plate and then into the microwave it goes. About 2 mins for mozzarella or until light brown.... crispy treat!!! pretty good too!
