If you ask me, natural PB *IS* the real stuff. I MUCH prefer it to skippy/jif/etc. Even when I'm not dieting, I'd never go back.

I have found that almond butter tends to be much less addictive than peanut butter, for some reason. Not sure why. It has the same amount of natural sugar as peanut butter, but it doesn't rev up the craving nearly as much. It took me a good month or so to wean myself off pb, but it is possible!

I am, also, a PB fanatic. I LOVE PB and bananas, PB and apples, PB and celery, PB sandwiches...just love PB. When I went on SB I immediately fell in love with Smucker's Natural PB. I couldn't believe I had been eating Skippy for as long as I had. I prefer the NB always will. When I first went on SB I ate it too much b/c it was that good 8) I don't recommend that, however.

My issue is that when I keep it in the fridge, it is UNSPREADABLE because it's so cold and solid.

Also, my pre-sbd favorite was to nuke a tablespoon of regular peanutbutter for a few seconds to make it melty and then dip apple slices into it, but the Natural kind doesn't melt right.

I've had the same jar for two months now with barely a dent in it because it's unspreadable and unmeltable, and so I'm turned off by it.

I love the stuff! And I do keep it in the fridge!

Anyone know how to keep it from drying out?

When I open a new jar it immediately gets put in a plastic dish with a tight sealing top. I stir it up really good and into the frig. I've never had a problem with it drying out or unmixing since I started this.

I keep mine in the pantry and not the fridge. So far I haven't gotten sick and my PB is nice and spreadable!

WOE........way of eating!!!

PEANUT BUTTER....I love it and eat it almost everyday. I buy the Trader Joe's crunchy. It's sinful and yummy. I would never eat the regular kind again!

If you have a Wild Oats supermarket nearby, their store brand peanut butter is excellent... and is normally $2.50, but you can often get it on sale for $2.00.

Just to add, but I've taken to making my own PB. Kroger's was running a sale on their peanuts and I bought a large quantity :)

Threw them in small food processor, added a bit of peanut oil and then blended to my liking. Good stuff and I know exactly what's in it ;)

I nuke 1 Tbs of the natural stuff until it is a bit warm, and then stir in 1 Tbs of soymilk creamer. This makes a nice, creamy dip, wonderful on crisp, organic Gala apples (or lots of other things, too.) This might help if you think the natural stuff is too dry. Also, if you are used to the sweeter taste, you might try adding a bit of artificial sweetener, but I think it is great just the way it is.

I LOVE peanut butter. But I'll only eat the natural kind!! Before SB, when I ate the processed, unnatural kind, I didn't even really like it. But "discovering" natural PB has been a curse, because it is sooooo good. I really have to use restraint, or I'll eat way over 2 tbsp!

The Smuckers kind is my favorite. I've never kept it in the fridge, I just mix the oils every time I use it.
