Gettin Fit, I started on June 28 and have almost the exact amount of weight to lose. I've been inspired by your journal. I have been mostly following the guidelines with a few exceptions - extra nuts here and there, extra sf fudgesicles, today is actually the first day that I am trying to be aware of the 75 calorie limit on sf sweets. I start phase 2 tomorrow and I'm looking forward to fruit and popcorn.

I was overly ambitious when I did the ticker I think. I currently weigh 232 and want to be in a solid size8-10. I think 165 will do it. I'm 5foot 7. How tall are you?

Hi Kelly,

Looks like you're doing just great. Thirteen pounds down since 6/28, that is awesome. I think that once in a while it's better to eat more of what's allowed if you need to in order to stay on program. Like Saturday for me, I went to an outdoor concert where everyone brings their own picnic basket and drinks. In my basket I packed boiled shrimp, cucumber slices, some cheese, a can of cashews and Diet Coke. I didn't eat the cheese but I ate way more cashews than I should have and I still felt good because I resisted all the junk food that all my friends around me were eating. I am 5'5.5" and when I was at 155 (years ago), I wore size 10s. That's where I'd like to be again. Once I reach my goal, I'm going on a shopping spree in New York City

Hang in there let's keep encouraging each other.

GettinFit, I just weighed myself - down another 3 pounds. YEAH!! I started phase 2 today but haven't had anything new yet. I think I'll have piece of fruit for dessert at lunch and popcorn for a snack after dinner. Have a great day!

Way to go Kelly. Another 3 pounds gone for a GRAND TOTAL of 16. You're on your way girl. I think when I start Phase 2 I'll do like you and slowly introduce fruits & grains. I'll probably do one grain and 1 fruit for the first week and see how it goes.

It's so ridiculous. I just ate a nectarine and I was terrified. I made sure I found a quiet place in my house, smelled it first and thoroughly enjoyed the nectarine. Never, I mean never have I enjoyed a piece of fruit more.

Kelly,

That is too funny  I have to decide what my first fruit will be. Maybe I'll have some cherries. I'll probably use my grain serving for b'fast since I'm getting tired of canadian bacon. I don't like eggs so I've had canadian bacon or turkey everyday. I can't wait to have some lite flavored yogurt too!
