This reminds me of my childhood. My mom use to make this esp. in summer. Soooo good:

Peeled Garlic with little bit of salt: Grind. Then add ff plan yogurt and mix. Add diced cucumbers and oregano herb (dried leaves)

Chill and serve!

Really good!

I like to add fruit to yogurt cheese. I make the yogurt cheese out of plain nonfat yogurt, straining it for 8 hours through coffee filters lining a mesh strainer. After 8 hours, the yogurt should be reduced by about 1/2 -- 1 cup yogurt makes 1/2 cup yogurt cheese. I find the yogurt cheese has a milder taste and creamier texture.

kkbradsh, do you put it in the fridge when you drain it?

Yes, Dolly-VA, I refrigerate the yogurt cheese as it drains. But, I've heard of people who drain it in the sink. Oh yeah, and you need to make sure to get yogurt that doesn't have gelatin in it. The gelatin holds on to the whey.

Thank you! I have an extra carton of yogurt and may try it tomorrow. Sounds like a good alternative to cream cheese. :D

I sprinkle a little in, mix it and taste it. If it is not flavored enough, I add more. The gelatin powder goes very far. Do a little at a time till you get what you like.

Here's another use for FF plain yogurt, courtesy my husband: use it as a garnish, like sour cream. I normally have 2-3 oz with 1/4 cup of FF refried beans, and its great!

I used to sweeten the yogurt with Splenda, then add fruits/decaffienated coffee/cocoa/vanilla essence/lemon zest to add flavor. And lucky for me, I'm going to do that every night for dessert on Phase One :D
