Ablack8's journal

Postby ablack8 » Tue Nov 23, 2004 9:16 pm

Hello there....Mercedes suggested that I get started on this. I have no idea that anyone would care to read about me...but there are some wonderful people on this board. I'm looking forward to reading more about your struggles, triumphs, and journeys.

Well, I have lost about 40 pounds doing the SBD...however...I have many more to go.

The menu today has been good...I started with beef & barley soup for breakfast. I know that's weird, but I'm so sick of all of the other breakfast foods. I made it on Sunday and added some zucchini, broccoli, and cauliflower. It needs mushrooms.

Lunch was half a hubbard squash stuffed with the some turkey sasuage, a few dried cherries, onions, part of an apple, and some whole-wheat bread. I burned the bread, but it was good.

I haven't gotten to the snacks today...I've been distracted with many other things.

So...that's about it. I have a big job interview that I just found out about today. I'm so excited about that! Scared, but excited.

Hey girl!! Nice to see you started your journal. It's been so helpful for me and like I said, I'm looking forward to going back and reading it when I'm slim and trim. ;) Actually, I wanted a documented journal of my food and exercise....

So glad you did this!!! *HUGS*

You rock Mercedes! You're the best!

Anyway, I guess I've been offline for the holidays. I did pretty well...but wasn't 100% good...But now I'm back on track and back in my routine and much happier.

This morning, I had leftovers because the thought of breakfast food still nasueates me. It was a mix of turkey, swiss cheese, some lower-carb melba toast rounds, almonds, green pepper, and some celery. It sounds gross, but it's really good. It was one of the best meals that I had in college and now is one of my favorites.

I have more for lunch. I also have my first naval orange of the season. I know it's been a rough year for Florida...but I'm glad I could afford these!

I'm not sure what kind of exercise I'll do today. I need to get a new video, I think.

Anyway, that's it for Tuesday. It's time to start on the day's ration of water!

I saw a DVD at Wal-mart that has targeted exercises that you can pick a site to work on...I just was too cheap to buy it. Maybe I will after work.

Weird breakfast, but I liked it. It was good at lunch too.

The naval (navel?) orange was sooo good.

Well, now that I've figured out how to do images...here is my picture. It's not the most flattering. I will have to scan something better...but here it is!

(That giant monument behind me is a monument to soldiers in Franklin, Tn. I went there for a work trip a few weeks ago).

Hey...there I am!

I'm glad you liked the pictures. Actually, I just photocopied the prints! No computer involved. Most of those flowers dried nicely!

I can't believe this has been looked at 99 times!

I didn't add my entry yesterday. Bad me. I did do some journaling in my own book yesterday. That was really nice.

But the cyber version is good too, no?

Well, I felt like cooking late last night. Okay, I just boiled cauliflower, so I should call it food prep.

I made turkey slaw from the newest edtion of Kraft's food magazine. They'll give you free subscription if you go their website. So, I whipped up a dish with leftover turkey, mayo, (Dear God, I'm actually eating mayo...a miracle), cabbage, dried cherries, and almonds. It was a good breakfast...weird, I know. But it tasted really good.

And then I've had an orange today. Still good. Too acidic though...
