I love all peanut butter, but the natural is my favorite. Although back before I got scared of partially hydrogenated oils, I was all about the Peter Pan peanut butter with honey. YUM! Sadly, I've had to remove peanut butter from my life for the time being, it triggers a huge binge for me. Hopefully in a little while I'll be able to reintroduce it. Any tips on how to eat only my allotted serving?!

Hi Jenn,
I also love peanut butter. Of course I have switched to the all natural kind but have also found myself eating it out of the jar like it is ice cream or something.

I have just had to controll myself lately. After about 3 indulgences and 3 pounds gained, I resolved to stop at 2 or 3 tablespoons per day. I also steal cookies from my husbands forbidden cabinet. I am on a journey and my journey has obstacles. I will succeed!!

Luv,
Cheryl :)

I also love peanut butter myself. But the first time I got the all natural kind of peanut butter, the oil on the surface scared me. So, I poured half of it away and it was still good because I love peanut butter. But the next one I mixed it well with the oil and everything and it was delicious!! I like it much better than the creamy peter pan kind because it was just too creamy. So, all natural is sooooo yummie..hehe :P

Publics supermarket here in Florida has fresh ground peanut butter in the deli dept...During the hurricaine the Publics nearest me lost the top to their peanut butter machine and I went like 20 miles to another Publics to get it...It is so so good and if I get the hungries a spoonful of peanut butter will stop them....

I don't think I'd eaten "natural peanut butter" before starting SBD. At first, it took some getting used to, but now I prefer it over standard peanut butter. I think it's what you become accustomed to.

Some help for PB bingers....

Postby TTW513 » Mon Sep 20, 2004 3:51 am

My Dad and I are both PB obsessed, but as you all know, more than 2 tbsps a day is not good for you, so I came up with a way to make the taste last a little longer than those 2 tbsps: Mix in 1 Tbsps with 2 packets of splenda into your fat free plain yogurt. It makes the entire yogurt taste like peanut butter, is healthy, and makes you wonder why PB flavored yogurt does not already exist. AND, while this is a great breakfast or lunch, you can make a FAB chicken satay sauce by simply adding a bit of low sodium soy sauce to the above recipe, and then dipping some of your healthy white meat grilled chicken skewers into it!

Just curious if you got the salt-free natural PB? We really enjoy the salt-added version, but didn't notice the salt-free jar jumping into our cart until we got home. Made it through it, but wasn't the greatest. If it's more the sweetness issue, do what others have suggested and mix in some splenda to taste.

Oh, I love satay and haven't made it in a long time. Thank you for the dipping sauce suggestion. Mmmm....

Also, I really like the natural pb. Too much. The only way I can control how much I eat of it is to not start. But, I do find if I bake it in cookies or other stuff, I don't have the same craving reaction as fresh.

fresh ground natural unsalted peanut butter.

been buying it that way for years. the bottled jars of natural peanut butter is nowhere as good. i don't believe they are truly natural because they have all this oil in them. there is no oil in fresh ground PB.
