yup Chris, still feeing grumpy... funny how I always think of eating to make myself feel better. Been doing that my whole life. Sucks!!

Day 11 down. Didn't get to spin class today because my boss needed to talk with me about stuff and it went on forever. So will hit a class tomorrow instead, and Saturday too as I have a day to myself. That will help. I only have 2 weeks left of work and was seriously considering staying a couple more weeks today as things are just really CRAZY right now - of course right when I'm planning on leaving for 9 weeks...urghhh. Anyway, I said I would think about cutting my 9 weeks summer off to 7 weeks, but I don't want to. And I probably won't. They'll have to do without me, as we've been planning since last September!!

Not a good week...

Don't give in, Lisa! Anyone who can swing the summer off to stay home with kiddos should certainly be entitled! Work is totally overrated. Says someone still looking for work

You're inspiring me, sticking to P1 for the full 2 weeks! I'd do better if I could do that again and kick the cravings completely, but things just keep getting in my way (mostly stress!). Just had a big dinner out with my husbands work colleagues, who ordered two drinks apiece, plus appetizers and dessert. The restaurant naturally only had their winter menu online, so planning was tough. I split a salad with my husband while everyone else had their cheesy gooey tidbits, then had a wonderful seafood stew, but succumbed to bread for dunking and then blew it all with dessert. Really difficult to sit at a table with 8 people eating dessert for another 40 minutes without having some. And DH rarely shares! So today I'm living with the consequences. It's hard to think about the consequences when being swept along with peer pressure and wine

Back to cooking at home for the rest of the weekend, hopefully grilling outside and staying away from bread and sweets. Strawberries are in season, just bought two boxes and they're delicious but a little tart. I think I'll have mine with a scoop of ricotta and let the boys have their ice cream.

Hi Chris, yes restaurants with a group can be hard. I always try to choose what I'm having before I get there and stick to it. Hard!!

So Day 13 today. Weighed myself yesterday and I'm down 5 1bs so back to 155... (never changed my signature)... so at least I'm back to that weight and can work towards the pre-disney vacation weight of 149... I have to say this P1 experience has been difficult. The grumpiness does not help and there's been times where I just wanted to reach for the carbs like last night with pizza... but I didn't and I won't. I will add fruit on Monday and go from there. My problem is smoothly transitioning to P2 and not GAINING. I'm determined though to do this properly and get back down. Not feeling good at this very high weight for me.

So work - Looks like I'll delay by one week only. Just have to make arrangements for that. Then when I go on my girls cruise in November, it's 'free'... no vacation days needed. I'll think about it some more, but I'm thinking that would make sense for the team and would take the pressure off me to get everything done in 2 weeks. Another week will help.

So we have 24 hours kid-free so DH and I are going to friends' for a BBQ tonight and enjoying the day. I'm going for a massage and plan to hit the gym. Have a great weekend.

Hi Lisa,

So, IMO, easy transition means, go VERY slow on adding any carbs/starches. For one thing, they retain water. For another, they bring cravings for MORE. Just my experience.

I am struggling but not given up. Working on my head to get myself motivated. Like you do- reading diet stuff and thinking the right things. I can do it. Done it before. Can do it again.

Will be stopping to check in!

Hi, Lisa! I'm doing it! So is Judi! Three days of P1 (plus berries!). No wine. No bread. No crackers. No junk. YeeHa!

Where are you? Crazy at work, I'll bet, trying to finish up. We'll keep bumping you until you have time to chat.

Yay Chris and Judi!! Will check in with you soon.

I'm Day 16 and added a fruit yesterday. No carbs yet. Went spinning today and enjoyed it so much. Need to get back to 3-4 x a week again. Work is SO busy and I keep letting it stop me from leaving on time for my classes. Today was super frustrating day at work with all this work going down and trying to analyze it all and come up with a plan for my last 2.5 weeks. July 10th will soon be here and then I'll be on vacation!

Feeling good on the beach!

Good morning, Lisa! Thanks for stopping by my journal with your upbeat attitude!!!

We're having our first summer day here in Maine, supposed to get into the 90's. I should have headed out early to one of the nice beaches where I can walk a long distance, but it's too late already. The parking lot is always full by 9 on the first few hot days of summer. Will do a quicker trip to a closer beach, maybe the ocean (15 min) or lake (5 min), but there's no nice long stretch of sand for walking. Maybe a little Total Gym before it gets too hot.

Water weight is coming off, feeling good. I'll probably keep going past day 3, but may add my glass of wine. The trouble with that is that it loosens my resolve and makes me more likely to hit the snack cabinet.

Lisa's all Eyes on The Prize! That's why she's Miss South Beach and why she's not eating shwarma, no siree bob!

You inspired me so I tried spinning. I got so dizzy I nearly lost my lunch.

you guys are hillarious!!

So it's going great for me. Barely transitioned to P2. Had a fruit a couple of days this week. No carbs. lost another 1 1b so 6 total so far. Feeling a little bit discouraged this week but have to tell myself that a pound a week is excellent and will get me to my goal if it's consistent. Got to spinning and BodyPump only twice this week and it's not looking good for a gym visit this weekend. :( Will try tomorrow. :( Clothes fit better but I need to get lower than this, that's for sure!! Hope you all have a great beachy weekend.

Six pounds is great so far, Lisa!! The weight will come off, you know that. But think about how much better you feel when you're eating right. You have more energy for all that exercise, even if you don't have time for it as much as you'd like.

Hi guys, things are fine. I've added carbs in this week.... once a day. Feeling fine. Went spinning yesterday, BodyPump today, and spinning tomorrow. Looking forward to the long Canada Day weekend with BBQ/Swims at friends' houses all weekend. Haven't hopped on the scale this week.

So this week didn't go quite as planned. Work is NUTS, hence the delay in my summer leave. So I stayed late Thursday and missed my spin class. Had thai food with friends at my place and it didn't agree with me at all! My stomach has hurt and I'm really bloated! I think it's because I've been eating so beachy clean the last 3 plus weeks that my body was just like "WHAT????" So it's Saturday now and I still don't feel right. Busy weekend ahead though with the kids.

Hope you are all doing well. I will check journals this weekend and give some support to you all.

Food is the most widely abused anti-anxiety drug in America, and exercise is the most potent yet underutilized anti-depressant.

Read this on Facebook today. So true.
