Bethy, I am so glad to see that I'm not the only one who does marathon shopping trips. I seem to want to food shop wherever I go and tend to bring a cooler bag with me just in case I have time to stop somewhere interesting. I try not to make special trips to food stores that are far away since the gas prices shot to the moon. It's 50 mi. to Sam's and TJoe's for me. Luckily I have 3 places to shop within a mile and a half from my house so at least when I make the rounds locally, I'm not too exhausted. Sam's Club hauls tend to wear me out.

You will be disappointed by the Sam's Club salmon burgers. Never had the Costco ones, but the Sam's ones are not great. You'll have to jazz them up with something.

My tiny local grocer has these truckload meat sales once a month where you can buy a big hunk of something and have them cut it up, or just get 10lb bags of boneless chicken breasts or ground beef (without pink slime!- they actually have a hand-written sign saying so). I've been using Penzey's Greek seasoning with a little olive oil and water to "marinate" the chicken. The recipe is on the bottle. I grill them on my cast iron stove top grill and they come out very juicy and tasty - family loves them. Great leftover on my salad, too. I just HATE dry chicken breasts. One of my sons will only eat dark meat. He says there's no point in buying chicken breasts and then having to put a ton of fat on them to make them taste like something. He will carry on for an hour about dry chicken if I let him. He likes to lecture. It's easier to just make sure we have thighs available when he's around.

whoa whoa WHOA. That "220" that got snuck without comment onto the bottom of the last page.... was that a current weight???? Or was that your monthly payment on the new Lexus?

Something tells me I need to run to the store for more swiss chard (whimpersobwhine)

Whoa, whoa whoa!

I remember when you said that at the Belmont. I could just barely hear you.
That was LBS, Shammy pie. *rubs his velvety nose, gives carrot*
I've got to excavate my semi-done chili from the fridge and finish it with the old spices today. So much for my side X side comparison plan. Got a tracking number email and the new ones are apparently coming via
FEDEX Ground (squirrel).
Dang it, Chris, I KNEW I was making a mistake with those Salmon burgers! Maybe I'll make Mikey send me some from his next-door neighbor-hood Costco along with those peanuts.
(Mikey. I'm having second thoughts about letting you be my beautiful Sham and wear those sexy green blinkers. It's a woman's prerogative. Can we switch horses? I feel so disloyal to Shammers, digging him back up for another round of second best to the greatest ever and I do so much like to be the prettiest horse in a race. I should have thought this through better, this is the perfect time for Sham's do-over.)

Wow, I got dizzy just reading all that you've bought and I didn't even understand a bunch of it! :) Sounds yummy and exotic. My midwest is showing, I know.

So, here's the thing, I love, love, love your humor and word play. It's some of the best I've read. But I'm pulling the curtain back from the wizard this morning, just a tiny bit. Your food sounds great, looks like your coping skills are useful (think spark plugs), and your numbers are dropping. But, what I'm asking this morning is... is there anything you can do today that will tighten up your program? Something to make the numbers go a tad faster/further? We get loose and sloppy (general human comentary about life in general, not specific to you) when we get comfortable doing something. What are you doing/or should be doing that needs a tiny bit more attention?

Warm hugs and great thanks for all of your kind support to the rest of us,
Not so Funny Cide (I'll try to crank it up again later  )

p2 w...two weeks before Oaks/Derby weekend

B-made dressing out of extra chicken marinade and had a big late-breakfast salad w/ about 2oz leftover hamburger, spinach, and feta. This was my make-up salad for the one I didn't have last night.
s-some vanilla milk. thx JH/RA
L-hm. I had a really late breakfast.
s-I licked a LOT of spoons making supper and I had a glass of wine.
S-A za'atar (henceforth to be known as "Z" because I keep missing the "'") chicken breast, with tahini sauce, some feta, sliced cucumbers, some Baba (let's call it
"Bb", it's short, catchy, alliterative and heterozygous), some Toum, and a couple of stalks of broccoli.
D-a glass of wine and 1/4 of a Lindt passion bar. That was good.
LNS- celery and pb. Need to re-explain to PB dosage to S. He's trying to be sweet, but that was too much.

Goalies- Tighten Up and Tad Faster my program today with outdoor Aerobic Imagery. Check, I did that as ordered, FC (everyone and everything will soon have 2 letters)
Open that chocolate bar tonight. check.
Exfoliate, Hydrate, Mast........icate. check check check

All of it sounds good.

Looks like we are going to get socked here with the weather. I usually lose power even when no one else does, so just in case..... good night. LOL

Hello Bethy-

I am Mary Ann and I pop in here every few days. I can't be in the race because I woke up lame one day this week. I would like to request a horse name anyway.
Can I be Bony Roany? My husband bet on her at Oaklawn a long time ago-It is also one of his many nick names for me-I prefer it to "the old gray mare." Since I am in PIII now maybe I can be that horse that escorts the others to the starting gate?

What have you been Doing? I've been constantly reevaluating my stomach/thigh situation on the toilet. I can stick my all four of my fingers between there LONGWAYS.
And what have you been Eating?
And how's the ex-sitch? You want me to give him poison sumac? Or is he being nice and bringing over the buffalo wings?

LOL on the stomach/thigh toilet situation. STTS for short! Sounds like some new venereal disease!! I said I USED to be able to feel my gut on my thighs when I was nekked on the toilet before a shower. I didn't say I STILL could!! And I've been eating..... stuff. Nothing that your snobby tastebuds could appreciate! Except.... I'd invite you over for my chicken fajitas wrapped in lettuce leaves with organic sour cream and avocado and fresh tomato and maybe a tray or two of kale chips! You'd like that I think!

The ex is being creepy-nice. He's up to something.

masm- I am totally lame myself and *I'm* in the race. I think You are just too Bony to be in the race and don't want to hurt our feelings. Of course you can be Bony Roany. We need a pony-horse, someone to play the call to the post, and also someone to shoot us all if we break down (Kyan might be good for that, I've seen her gun). Bony Roany sounds like an excellent choice of horse-identity for you since you're in P3 and BR's mother was a horse named Figure Conscious. go figure...

Kyan-you get me all confused. I was reading your post and I kept thinking "isn't that what *I* said?" It took me three times to figure out you were quoting me back to me. Go out and "buy yourself" some "quotation marks". Sheesh.

There's a storm coming. I brought half the lilacs in the yard in here so the rain won't ruin them and now there's a rainy breeze blowing over them from the window. I can almost not smell the dog.

P2W4
BAD morning ride.
Something spooked me and I stepped on the scale and upticked myself all the way back to the gate.
I wonder how much my smartwool mountain climber socks weigh, anyway? They ARE thick.
I wonder how much tahini sauce I licked all together yesterday?
I wonder if Crabby Jacks would send Mikey a couple of po boys if I explained the situation.

It's chilly and it's supposed to rain like crazy so I'll finally finish cooking my chili. There's nothing wrong with letting it develop in the refrigerator for a couple of days. I am counting on this being a cozy easy chili chilly rainy day in thick socks and my softest thinnest sweater with the hole in the elbow. Reading in bed, smelling my flowers, doing my handwashables,

<tangent:(OH! there's a filly named *In Lingerie* :D entered in the Oaks friday after next, that's the Derby eve race, it's my favorite. When I lived in Louisville they made the wreath of Lillies at my local Kroger store and I got to put a flower in it my own self just for running out of popcorn in the middle of the night in the middle of a novel. That was Your year JH/RA!! That was my Lilly!)tangent>

.. maybe fixing sharley's puzzle where she put that piece in that anyone can see doesn't fit, planning what to send Mikey just in case the unthinkable happens (things are not looking auspicious, the tilt-a-weight called me a 223 , Rat B@#$%d!), Really Looking for my good reading glasses, maybe even doing my biannual This Time It's Going to be Different plan for being able to locate any given spice jar in 5 minutes or less. Most of what I call *cooking* others would mostly call *looking*.

Days without going to the store: 1
Days without sending H to the store for just 1 thing: 0
I want a pink knife. H gave me a tomato knife 3 years ago for our anniversary. I was Thrilled. I told him he should just do all his future gift shopping at Williams-Sonoma because H doesn't shop online but only in the nearest Mall and I never get that sick feeling in my stomach when he comes home late from work carrying one of Their bags with a Hallmark card poking out the top. It's almost anniversary time too, I'd better go make a pink knife-scouting trip with my (secret agent) Son pretty soon. Soooo much less facial strain involved in the *surprised delighted thank-yous* than for, say, that  nightgown that time...

B-half a chicken breast, Bb, no tahini sauce.
s-3 swallows of milk
L-half a hamburger patty salad w/ blue (so blue) cheese oil n vinegar
s-I don't think the cup of chicken chili and 2 T fage I just ate was a snack exactly, but it wasn't exactly supper either. It's been a weird day. I get cravings from seeing the letters KK too close together too often in a short timespan?
then-two small slices of that spinach feta bake thing. It's better after a couple of days in the fridge. I am still hungry. I don't know whether it's the weather or the donuts or that weird wine I had last night or WHAT. I might fix a salad next. I feel like there's some important thing I'm forgetting to eat or something.....
s-medium size spinach salad with an ounce of feta, about 2 ounces of chicken and a tablespoon of tahini sauce.
D-one rectangle of chocolate (a just-right serving)
NO CELERY and PB???? I guess I finally got full (and tahini sauce IS PB, really, don't you think?)

Here's you and Calvin Bo-rail wearing my Lillies, JH/RA and the hat to go with it. You can wear it when the pool opens:

A chili chilly day spent in bed reading sounds wonderful! Better than an orangy-popcorn sniffing day with Mirror Mirror!

Do you know what they do with lame horses? They shoot them. I say shoot your scale and put it out of it's misery.

gyah! I was just about to get out the lingerie wash but I have to go see what Mirror/Mirror is about first.

I AM euthanizing that scale, just as soon as Mike racing season is over.
(Now you made me think about Eight Belles again and need to lie down. It is Very Hard not to think about Eight Belles this time of year. I want a Bellelobotomy.)
