OnaMi

You don't have to do anything to lose or not. Just keep doing what feels good- exercising and eating right. Don't listen to anyone just keep your own head where it is. You are so smart, strong and down to earth- and you have all the right reasons. When your body gets to the weight it wants to stay in, you will be the first one to know  so just do what feel right and let it be.

I read Bethy's jrnl (FUNNY) she reminds me of Michelle- remember her?....anyway, she said it must be hard to be in the position of being admired, and I am sure she is right. But you deserve the confirmation and acknowledgement of what is the most amazing effort! I am thinking of you a lot. I am doing better mentally and while I am doing well w food, I am trying to keep from being the perfectionist I am....(not a good thing)- right now, in the swing of things, I am controlling my food habit more easily and finally feeling satisfied w much smaller portions (and stuffed when I eat even slightly more than my new "usual")

So much for today...Wishing you the happiest and most wonderful holiday, show off those arms! Weather is getting nicer! And tell your mom not to worry, you are far from anorexic! Just to enjoy how great you look and how much happier you must be!

BIG hug!

When, not if, you meet a real man, what he'll see is the beauty and the brains that are within and be so impressed by your achievement and tenacity and determination. The rest will really mean nothing. If it does, you've not met a man. ;) He'll be honored that you've taken time from your life to allow him in.

Tie a knot on the end of your rope and hang on! ;) It's gonna be alright!

Hay Bethy (wave) :)

Hay Judi (wave) :) thank you for the kind words and encouragement(xo) I'm at the same place you are now.I'm learning that i don't need a lot of food to be satisfied any more.listening to my body.Instead of just eating to try and keep my metabolism up,which has almost driven me crazy. You can do this and are doing this!!! just stay with it,I know all too well how long it takes to see all of your hard work pay off but it will.We are learning things about good healthy foods that will add years to our lives.

Hay Chris(wave) :)

Hay Mary Ann (wave) :)

Hay Sharley(wave) :) welcome back!!!!!!!!! thank you (hug)

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.I've been getting out more, doing more things with my new found self so I'm not on the Internet much any more.Maybe once every 2 weeks(IDK) and when i do get on, I have sooo many site i try to catch up with,E-mails galore..phew..so please forgive me if I don't post in your journals that much.I do read what you guys are up to and always send Special Blessing of Strength,Peace and Good Health your way (hug)

So like i told Judi,Learning to eat only when I'm hungry. It's not easy but I don't like that stuffy feeling.I can tell when I'm full .If anything I get full (stuffed) off vegetables so I guess as long as I'm stuffed off vegetables it ok :? IDK.. either way,I'm working on not eating Anything till I'm stuffed and anyway.. with drinking my big thing of water first,I get full quick it seems.WI @ 154.8 today.

Hay Sharley (wave) :)

Hay Mary Ann (wave) :) You're doing great!!!! (yay) Great job w/the water(applause). Those muffins are a good idea and sound great.I found out the hard way that I'm carb sensitive so if i eat any thing like that at night,I'll be craving carbs all night long  :? I have to eat stuff like that early in the day.
Yeah, just trucking along. :D me neither...I just can't eat all that food(follow the guideline) any more(dizzy)..stuffing myself just to get it all in, was not working for me.I quest the Doctor figured we'd use common sense and adjust the plan to our own way of eating eventually :D .Some days i do have to eat more cause I'm hungry from all the exercising (cycle calories) but if I'm not hungry, eating 3 meals a day is usually enough.Just hand some grilled mushrooms, grilled cauliflower w/chipotle seasoning as a snack and it was delicious.eating more veggies when still hungry has been working( helped). Hope it continues.
WI @ 153.8 today! I Noticed, that as of today,I've lost the same amount of weight that was my original goal weight.180 lbs.How surreal is that.Never ever thought I'd be here. Not in this life time.funny how when i was younger, I always wanted to be smaller, did try to lose weight but didn't care enough about myself to try and keep off what i did lose and just kept eating/drinking and partying until it all started to effect my health. But with age comes wisdom i guess.I started out wanting to get healthy, wanting to get off of the meds and with just learning how to eat good food and moving everyday,Here I am.I like myself now."nothing taste as good as feeling thin feels"... All i can say is Thanks Be To God,This site and the very special people here for your support, encouragement, kindness and friendship over these almost 3 years.May You All Be Blessed For How you've helped me(hugs and kisses)

Hey, OnaMi! Just wanted to say hey and I'm still hanging on to what I learned from your journal. It's so weird how carb cravings work on people. You can't eat them at night and I can't eat them in the day. If I ate oatmeal or cereal for breakfast, I'd have a bad bad day wresting the refrigerator. But I can have my grain serving for supper, no problem. Two sides of the same coin, I guess. :D 153 pounds! You have become a skinny person! How does your sister like That? My family would be saying "Oh, now, enough is enough, this is ridiculous. You don't need to be thinner than WE are!" Have a great week Ona. I keep you in my mind a lot. 8)

OnaMi, it looks like you're getting close to your "Unthinkable Goal". How exciting for you, and what a transformation you've gone through. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us.

I'm still muddling along, back on track better now and focusing on eating more veggies. Yesterday I had a very very veggie day and am feeling much better this morning. Grains make me hungry all day and bloat me immediately, so I try and have mine at night like Bethy. I'm trying to only have them occasionally now and eat more starchy veggies instead. Like you, we all need to tweak this way of eating to our individual needs and quirks!

Thank you OnaMi, you are an amazing inspiration. I love how you said "I like myself. " I am so far from that feeling right now. I am so mad at myself for undoing my hard work and it is getting more difficult for me to keep trying. Anxiety gets in my way and I know that unhealthy habits make it worse. I am so glad that I came in here looking for motivation because I feel so low right now and you just lifted me up enough to give me the energy to keep trying. Thank you for being here and sharing your wisdom. You really helped me tonight. :)

Hey OnaMi,

I just wanted to say it has been amazing to watch your persistence and consistency over these years, every time you stopped by you were doing the right things, eating properly, exercising, and it has paid off for you--you did the right thing long enough and you're down from over 300 lbs. to about 150. It's amazing to see. Congratulations--you DESERVE it!
