Worried....

Postby Cat_ty » Thu Apr 12, 2012 9:02 pm

Ive decided to start SB diet but I'm so worried about it not working. I have been on WW for 7 weeks and not lost a single pound!! I exercise well and eat healthy unprocessed food but I cannot shift this 20 pounds so I'm hoping SB will kick start it for me. When you have been trying for so long though and are used to disapointment is hard to keep motivated!

Anyone else been in a similar position where they don't know what else they can possibly do but found this diet worked for them?

It's hard to tell what will happen for you, but I know that a lot of people who struggle with WW are able to lose weight with SB. Since the points are the big thing with WW, without much emphasis on quality of food, that can make a big difference. Eating too many high glycemic foods can mimic excess calories in the way your body reacts, which tricks your body so that it won't burn off the extra bodyfat.

But since you say you're eating "unprocessed food," I'm not really sure how significant of a difference switching to SB will make. Hard to tell what that means exactly.

Can you give an example of what you've been eating (non-SB)?

Also keep in mind that SB is not a quick fix or a quickie diet. You will probably be a slow loser.

I typically have porridge or egg for breakfast, salad or soup for lunch, stir fry for dinner and I snack on nuts and fruit. I do indulge in chocolate and cake but not everyday.

I personally think I have a really good diet and I exercise most days so to be honest I don't know why I am overweight and why I cant shift it!! its very frustrating! Every diet I try focuses on eating healthy whole food-which I already do....

Any advice will be greatly appreciate though so thanks!

Read the FAQs here. And follow the links for P1 FAQs to see what this is about.

Since you have tried other diets without success, give this approach a clean chance. So no cake, no chocolate, no fruit, very limited nuts for at least two weeks. VEGGIES are your friends. LEAN PROTEINS. Three meals a day, two snacks.

Breads, grains, potatoes, starches, even some veggies (carrots, beets) should be avoided for the early stage. Same with fatty meats.

Read about portions.

There is a lot to absorb, but you're among friends. Ask any questions you need!

Can you give more details? There's almost nothing on which to base some feedback-- porridge, salad, soup, stir-fry-- those are all really generic terms that don't tell us anything about what's in them and how much. They could all be made in a really unhealthy way to very healthy way. So I can't tell how much of a change it might be for you.

I thought I ate really healthily pre-SB, since I hardly ever ate sweets or anything like that. But I ate too much high fiber cereal and too much rice and whole grain bread-- low-fat, but a killer on my blood sugar. I should have been eating lots of low glycemic vegetables instead.
