Craving Eggs today is this Okay, 3rd day on phase 1

Postby neelychrystal » Thu Mar 22, 2012 3:17 am

I woke up this morning
had a turkey bacon 1 egg omelette with spinach, onion and side of beans/chickpeas 2cups black coffee, 16oz water
1 green hot tea plain
dipped a few rolled pieces of green lettuce in 1T mayo 16oz water
lunch i had a salad with mixed greens/brocoli/bell peppers/scallions/watercress/cucumber 2T Light Ranch with 2piece crumbled turkey bacon 16oz water
1 green hot tea
snack of lemon cilantro black beans and chickpeas, lemon juice, cayenne, salt, pepper, fresh lemon juice, fresh cilantro.

dinner made another 1 egg spinach/onion omelette, but put 1 low fat string sharp cheddar cheese in it with 1 piece turkey bacon. 16oz water (

I was still hungry so i poached two more eggs in chicken broth, couldnt eat it all so i fed to the dog.

almost bedtime getting ready to watch a movie and drink 2 sleepytime teas with lemon wedges.

I dont notice that i am losing weight, I feel better but crabby sometimes. today was the day where i woke up and really felt like i need just these eggs and turkey bacon. was that to much
it is my third day on phase 1 part of the diet, so i am thinking maybe i didnt get enough protein yesterday? or that i am making up for the loss of carbs and sugar. not really sure, I am not doing
the artificial sweetner thing. I am trying to clean out these cravings and toxins so i do not eat any sugar at all. except for what i dont make like aka the light ranch dressing but there is only 2carbs per 2T serving. And I do not eat everyday, and thinking about giving that up all together and only using 2T of home made vinegrettes. Any ideas? Did I have to much meat and should I start all over?

Of course not. Looks like to me you didn't eat Enough dinner! Where's your dairy? And your Minimum 4.5 cups of veggies? I'd be crabby too. Have a bunch of veggies w/ your dinner tomorrow. And a real serving of real meat, can't live on turkey bacon. The book said "if you're hungry, eat".

I dont think you are eating enough. I could never survive on 1 egg for breakfast. Ive started making scramblers in the morning...I buy the egg whites in the carton now and pour about a half a cup in the pan and add 1 whole egg. Its also a good idea to mix some spinach, onions and peppers into it as well. You could also chop up some turkey bacon and throw it in. It makes a much more substantial breakfast. Plus you are getting in your veg.

Maybe every couple of days throw some fresh avocado into your salad for some healthy fat. I also sometimes need some crunch to my salad...so I take about 7 almonds and toss those in too.

I dont know about you...but it would be hard for me to eat poached eggs with out toast to dip into the yolk. Try to have some lean protien for dinner. I dont eat meat...so at night I find myself eating fish. I love Greek salad....so I make a big one top it off with a nice peice of salmon. You can find a lowfat Feta as well, fairly easily these days.

I normally add all those things to my egg omelette but not the whites that is a good idea. I like poaching my egg and then I serve it over black beans slightly smashed and seasoned, diced tomato it is really actually good when the yolk goes into the beans you dont miss the toast at all. then you dont have to count to oils for breakfast. What kind of Salad dressing do you like with your greek salad? Do you make your own or is there a good store bought version? If you do make your own would you mind sharing? With the greek salad how do you season your salmon? salt pepper and lemon?

I ussually make my own and I am awful at measuring. I would say that is my one down fall with this diet. But what I do is: eye ball about 1 tbs evoo with either some lemon juice or white wine vinegar, some dried oregano, a little parm, salt and pepper, a pinch of paprika, and minced garlic.

For my salmon...I like to coat things in herbs. Basil goes great with salmon and dill of course. I usually coat in basil, roast and make a roasted red pepper sauce. I have modified it for SB. Roast the peppers 2 - along with 2 cloves of garlic, salt and pepper them . When they come out, add to food processor, add some low fat parm, 2 Tbs Spanish Paprkia, about a cup of low fat cream, 1/4 cup lemon juice. Re-heat on stove top. Its delicious. Since you probably wont use all the sauce in one meal, it can be re-heated and used later in the week with chicken or over spaghetti squash:)

that sounds good, i normally go for an asian flare when i cook my salmon. I am definitely going to try it out. have you tried putting fat free half and half in the roasted pepper sauce? I my try it and see how it comes out, i will let you know. I dont think i can have squash in phase 1. but the chicken sounds good too. i think it would be good by adding some heat to it too and leaving out the parm and adding half of a chili pepper, with some lime cilantro halibut. Thanks for the idea, I was thinking about roasted red pepper sauce earlier today, when i roasted them to put in my lemon bean salad.
Thanks a lot! :D

Spaghetti squash is fine and counts as a regular veggie in p1, just not the butternut squash/yams which are starchy veggies and count as starch servings once you get to p2
