Hi everyone i have been saying since the 1st jan that i am going to get my weight under control again this year and yes u guessed it March is here and i still havn't done anything about it...DOH!! I successfully lost 15kg on SB a few years ago but since my 40th birthday i have really struggled to keep it off and now 42 and have put it all back on and some :( My problem is comfort eating and when i read or watch tv i have gotten into the habit of snacking (on all the wrong things like chocies and salty chips) I know SB works so i am starting Phase 1 today and hope some peeps out there might join me or just having a support so i am accountable is great. I am a busy Aussie mum of three teenage boys and feel i have neglected myself and my health recently...NO MORE!!! Bring on the yummy mummy!!! lol :D
My starting weight today is 75kg (165lb) and my goal would be to get to 55kg (119kg)

I will join you! I started Phase 1 about a week ago but haven't been following it exactly, so would be willing to start again.. :)
I am a vegetarian that eats fish occasionally and doing this to lose a few kilos but mainly to stop with the carb cravings and to make healthier eating a habit. I feel pretty good so far on SB but I have been lax with milk products and nuts this week, which have definitely limited weight loss. I haven't weighed myself yet but plan to tomorrow.

Hey there "petra01" happy to hear u can join me! It always seems to help if u have another person to do it with and help each other with ideas and encouragement etc. I hear what u saying about the carb cravings, i used to have such willpower and wouldn`t go near most carbs and to tell u the truth i rarely missed them but the last year or so i have lapsed back into some bad habits. I know from last time after about 2 weeks the chocolate chip cookies weren`t begging me to eat them everytime i opened the pantry door..lol! On my second day and feeling great i must say, not as bloated and not hungry as the protein keeps me full. The most inportant thing i need to do is remember to keep my water intake up, i think the amount of times i need to go the the loo is probably an indication im having alot! :D Good luck with your weigh in and hope u have a great day, speak soon. :)

Hi again, Well, I am in Europe so we have quite the time difference between us. :) So, tomorrow will be your third day on Phase 1? Sounds good to me. I can start there as well. I need a partner in this to keep me motivated. I started my morning with 2 eggs, lots of onions with tomato sauce (no sugar added), and a bit of LF greek yogurt. I need to figure out lunch still... I have to admit to a severe coffee addiction that I have not scaled back to 2 cups yet...
I didn't weigh myself this morning. Honestly, I am dreading it so I keep putting it off. The holidays were not kind to my midsection :)

Here's to no cravings...

Postby petra01 » Wed Mar 07, 2012 4:51 am

I finally weighed myself and it wasn't as bad as I thought (although not going to share it here). As I expected...a few kg would be good to lose, but even without that, if my cravings go away, I will be happy. I did fine yesterday but realized that I am likely eating way too many nuts. I don't count them but I guess I should starting doing that. A "handful" can be big... How are you feeling on day 4? of Phase 1?

Sorry i havn`t been able to get on this forum for a couple of days..busy with work and family but i am now nearing the end of day 5 and i have lost 5lb, which is very encouraging! I too have a caffeine addiction my 2 cups quota are used up in the first hour i get up! lol...i am still stuggling to cut down. I also LUV my almonds at snack time and i eat about 15 and then want more so can sympathize with u on that one too. I am feeling great because i dont feel so bloated. I will take u through my basic meal plan
over the past few days....
BREAKFAST: vegetable fittata made in muffin trays with 2 cups coffee (black with one splenda)
SNACK: 15 almonds
LUNCH: can tuna in a greek salad (but i dont eat the feta not for diet reasons just dont like it)
SNACK: 2 slices light cheese or almonds again
DINNER: lean chicken marinaded in a nandos peri peri with large salad...or variations on the meat like lean steak, grilled salmon, or prawns on the barbie

This is what i have been eating with about 4 litres of water and maybe a couple of glasses of coke zero every now and again throughout the day. My down fall is normally night time eating so if i get peckish i have celery sticks with light philly cheese as a night snack.

It is Friday night here in Australia and after a busy week i normally have as i like to call it my" Friday night chill night" which as u guessed it involves a few cold Chardy`s or red wine....IM GONNA STRUGGLE WITH THIS ONE!!!! lol Hope u doing well and will talk soon. Lets hope i stay strong! :)

Hi again,

I also had a busy week. I haven't weighed myself again but I did not limit the nuts most days and a few times eating out during the day, I could tell there was sugar added to the meal... Otherwise, my diet has basically been tons of veggies (way more than 5 cups most days), some LF cheeses and cottage cheese, and lentils or soybeans. I know soy is not on Phase I but tofu is so I am not stressing about it. As a vegetarian that only eats fish 1-2 times a week, soy is important for me. I do feel better than when I am eating so many simple carbs but I think this week, I will start trying to make sure I count my nuts. :) Hopefully by the time our Phase I is over (even if I didn't do it perfectly), I will be able to face the scale again! I hope your weekend goes well and you have a nice week. Check in when you can as it keeps me motivated! Thanks!
