sounds like everyone is doing great in here! Welcome Snowbunni!

So today is Day 10 of a fresh P1 and I'm down 6 1bs!! yay!!! Feeling it too... Will slowly transition to P2 over the weekend or Monday. I need the carbs back at dinner. I find it really hard to eat with the family on P1 but we've all been really busy so its been a lot of eating on the go which works well for me on P1.

13 1bs to go!!

Beans do count toward your 2+ cups of veggies, but we really shouldn't have more than a half cup per meal, so the other 1½+ cups of veggies need to come from any of the other p1 veggies.

In theory a bowl of chili could contain 1 1/2 cups of veggies in addition to the beans, but it would have to be a big bowl, and a very veggie-heavy chili (with lots of tomatoes, onions, peppers, and/or other phase 1 vegetables).

It's been good reading everyone's posts. Thanks, Magna, for sharing your P1 menus each day. Good to see a moderator who's sharing the nitty, gritty details. I started the beach Feb 2011 on a Tuesday, Lizzie! I lost a lot of weight for me (22+ pounds) and felt wonderful. When I got to P3 this summer, I ate a lot of veggies, but allowed other areas to be less than optimal. Too much chocolate that wasn't at least 70% dark; way too much Chinese food! I'm not a pop or wine drinker. I don't eat chips, pasta, or crackers, but I enjoy chocolate, that's for sure! My weight went up a few pounds and it just seemed time to clean it up. Reviewing people's messages is always so inspirational and helps me get back on track.

I have spent four days on a P1; maybe a 1.25. Even after a couple days, I could see the chocolate or pumpernickel bread in the frig and pass it up; same with the Chinese food. :) As others have stated, tummies flatten with SBD and mine has done that. I feel better and have more energy. It was so good to make a pot of chili again. Last night I stocked up at the store so I can make a fresh batch. One of the things I have been enjoying most is preparing some kind of greens on the stove with a speck of olive oil. Yum! I am trying new, weird looking greens and enjoying them. This Saturday is the Farmer's Market in town and I am looking forward to some delicious produce. In AZ this is the time of the year to garden—in the summer it is waaay too hot.

Lisa, congrats on your efforts that are paying off in fewer pounds!

It's day 12 everyone!

Hope everyone is doing good. Feeling better today, though when I was making my salad for lunch today, the thought of eating another salad was making me gag! Going to need something more substantial for dinner tonight as hubby is starting to look sadly at his plate. Might be the night to make the chocolate bean cake to have as a treat after dinner. Have to say that I am looking forward to a couple of triscuit crackers next week, pretty sure my tonsils will start to clap on the first bite! Long walk tonight before dinner and some yoga strength training as well. Have an awesome weekend everyone.

It's day 14

I am happy to say that I made it to the end. Will be happy to transition to phase 2 tomorrow. Am down 3.5 lbs and 2 inches. So well on my way. Have stuck to my exercise regime too, so I really feel I can continue and reach my goal. I made an asparagus, mushroom and goat cheese omelet yesterday. It was really good and just what a Saturday bkfast should be. Am making meatloaf, fauxtaters and green beans for supper tonight. Just feel like some comfort food!

Congrats on doing the full 2 weeks Cel. I'm on Day 13 today so tomorrow is the last P1 day for me then slow transition. Definitely feel better and know I made a good choice to do P1 fresh. It works like a charm. Just have to add in everything slowly which is where I have issues usually. We'll see. Good luck with the transition!

Well folks. I didn't completely disappear. I just kinda......vanished for 12 days! :( I have good news and bad news to report.

The bad news is that I've really had a hard time sticking to the plan lately. I've been doing SB since August, but wanted to "start fresh" in Jan. The first week I started I did fairly well, but this past week has totally sucked. I mean, to the point of going and getting fast food. It wasn't totally bad decisions, but not the healthiest.

However, I did start exercising daily (anywhere from 30 min-2 hrs; cardio & weight training) [I think this is why I was justifying the food choices]..and.....this is the GREAT news.....and I've lost a total of 9 inches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes 9, in 12 days. Now that's a total overall, but compiled from my breasts, waist, hips and thighs. When I took my measurements this morning, I about fell out in the floor!!!!! Unfortunately, my weight only went down 1 lb in the 12 days, but gosh....can you imagine what it'd do if I actually ate properly?????

So 2 things that I started doing this week that has helped me tremendously:

(1) Drinking protein shakes every morning before working out. Not only does this make me feel better, but it gives me the protein I need for the day, plus since I am working out, it helps supply the muscles with energy to burn off more fat. It obviously worked wonders!

(2) I hate drinking water. So LEMONS are the key. Not only do they help you reduce water weight but their high in Vitamin C, which helps to keep fat from being absorbed into your body. It's recommended that you drink a glass of lemon water (heavy on the lemon) first thing in the morning on an empty stomach to help activate this. So what I've been doing is cutting a lemon in half, juicing it into a 30oz water bottle and drinking that right away. Not only does it have a great citrus flavor and make me want to drink more, but it "supposedly" has added benefits. After I drink the first bottle, I then add the other half of the lemon, and drink another bottle. Definitely helps me to get my water intake in for the day!

I'm a very picky eater, and get tired of things quick. I also am really weird with textures, so some of ya'll menus....well, I'm just not sure what to think. But I need to find some inspiration to start eating better. We leave for a cruise to the Bahamas on 1/28, so I don't have much time to get into this bikini. One thing is for sure, I've definitely noticed a big difference already in my body appearance and how clothes fit. So one word of advice....don't worry so much about the scale, but how your clothes fit. I am a bit discouraged I haven't lost more than a lb, but I'll take 9 inches over than ANY day!!!!!!!

Keep up the good work!!

There werent enough veggies in my chili *sigh*. I had 2 different sorts of beans, and 2 cans of chunk tomatoes, and some onion. SO, thank you for the reminder that beans don't completely cut-it in the vegitable department. Next time I make chili, I'll definitely have vegitables on the side for good measure.

I think you're exactly right! With DH living permanently with us again after the 24th I think I'll have a much easier time getting to the exercise equipment in my basement. I've already warned/informed him that I need his help getting motivated....that we're BOTH going to put that room to some serious use!

We made it to the FIRST DAY OF PH2!!!!

Congrats to everyone who started the same day as me! I've lost inches, although I never did measure, so don't know my total for sure. I can see it in my stomach.....now if that would just move to my arms, thighs, hips, etc. etc......I know it will. I have my measurements from last time that I did SB, so am imagining that my measurements will stay relatively the same.

Starting Ph2 today, but will probably hang around here, unless there is a mass exit to the PH2 disscussion area? I do better if I have a group that I'm accountable to. I figure since there are several that started a few days after me that hanging around here would be just fine.

I lost 3 lbs total ------- woo hoo! So proud of myself for that.

We went to Ted's Restaurant on Saturday evening. I had a philly burger with no bun, swapped the french fries for broccoli and added a side salad. Went to the movies with DH Saturday afternoon. Stopped and grabbed some SF candy to take in with me. Sunday we went to eat Mexican for dinner and I had fajitas, hold the tortilla shells. I did eat 3 chips with salsa...but they were small chips.

Not sure what I want to add to my plate this week. Was thinking apples, but someone wrote about Triscuits...those may be the way to go instead. I'm alright having nothing but protein and veggies for dinner. My work schedule sometimes requires that mid-day I just grab something quick to eat. I could bust those up (I think 6 crackers count as 1 serving) into 3 2-times/day for my snacks with turkey pepperoni and cheese melted on top and have my snacks handled...quickly. PLUS I'm missing my 'crunch' foods. Edamame beans and peanuts are the closest I've come....and they're just not cuttin' it  .

Great TT! the family all together and your DH is a great motivator anyway, unlike mine who wont hesitate to suggest pizza for dinner instead of me cooking. Bet the girls are thrilled...shoot I KNOW they are.

Hello Everyone,

First day of P2, am going to take it slow. I made the Choc Cake with blk beans last night, and Man was that good. It was a bit dry, so am thinking of adding some grated zuchini next. Am going to stay in this conversation for a bit. Like the recipe posts. Keep them coming.

I didn't add anything today PH2 speaking. Didn't have time to get to the store for anything. Maybe tomorrow!

Glad you're sticking around this thread too.....maybe we can all transition to the PH2 Discussion section later on.
