Hi! I was hoping you were just busy with summer company - that's what you get for living by the lake! My garden is barely thriving, kale has been mostly eaten by critters, too, cherry tomatoes just coming in but I don't expect much since I never moved them out of their overcrowded tubs. I harvested my lettuce and now my zucchini plants are finally flowering and taking off, so that's making me happy. But we've had little rain, not as much heat as the rest of the country, but I've had to water frequently.

I went off the deep end - Phase 4 (gaining!!), so have been buckling down the past few days only doing P1 + fruit, and NO ice cream. Have been eating ricotta every day with berries for my dessert and dealing with that OK so far.

Glad to see you back and bravely trying to journal all those meals. I can't even put in writing what I've been eating lately! I've been working raising money for United Way for the past 10 weeks and I sit in a room filled with food. We bring in apples and bananas, but mostly it's donuts, piles of candy, pretzels, chips, cake, pizza. Very very bad. I stayed away from the candy for the first month and was very proud of myself, but caved in a few weeks ago and started eating the junk, too. My boss starts in on the Reece's at about 9:30am. I've had good meals - my egg/bean breakfast, soup for lunch, etc., but the junk food has really done me in.

I'm with you, and it seems like everyone else, trying to get back on board before the holidays hit and I have to dig out my fat clothes (most of which I gave away!).

Have you had snow yet? The one good thing about our storm was that we got the barn/garage cleared out, so there's room to put the cars away. Shovels are out and ready - luckily it melted before we needed them, this time!!LOL!

I was so happy to see that a nice job turned up for you ( temporary? )
I remember how it was when I was working. The area I lived in (northwest of Chicago) was chock-a-block with grrrreat little bakeries.....not to even mention the Panera's and Corner Bakery chains.
Seemed we always had something? to celebrate, and while I can usually pass on the candy.... baked goods just do me in....

I have been just out of control for about 6 weeks, with cooking for company. etc.....and I now have competitive cooking going on between my 2 renters...( one new this summer) I have been the unofficial chief taster. Needless to say they are both over the top with butter, , cheese. etc. For 2 weeks it was different bbq ribs recipes.
Since I was doing all that I might as well dig into all the bread I could find as well. ( Kathryn my new tenant bakes bread too.)
I finally had to sit her down and tell her she was killing me..............Tom has regularly presented me with a yummy plate, but maybe once a month, or less. I made the mistake of telling her this, as a selling point when she originally came looking at the apartment. Little did I know I was creating a monster......
I am sort of relieved to settle back into my old menus.....portions are gigantic, but mostly SB
I hope your family is well and that you are enjoying your job.
No snow here ...yet!
beautiful fall days for the last week here ...sunny afternoons in the 60s Sigh .....

Saturday
breakfast...late
ww tortilla w/ egg, beans and pablano peppers , sour cream and cheese
L cheesy cauliflower w/ ground turkey, pepper flakes 2 rice cakes
D baked potato... loaded, grapes
S prunes...hot chocolate

1:00 am egg/cheese sandwich on mini bagel

too much cheese :x
water good
no excersize

good morning Kyan

You mean the styrofoam disks

I actually am ok with them to replace crackers w/ salad or soup ( prefer 1/2 loaf of nice crispy baguette though)
and I like them with cinn, pb and dried fruit with tea or chai

II can consume a lot of sb food and still maintain, but..........then...... I stray to my old favorites in the same amounts .... THAT"S TROUBLE......

Sunday
B late 2 eggs real American fries 2 lite sausage
L 2 lettuce wraps PF Chang style
S yogurt full fat yoplait
D Saute'ed salmon, cauliflower, parsnips
S hot chocolate ....... light on the chocolate

lots of water
no middle of the night cravings
no excercize :x

I am working off leftovers from kids visit and other non SB stuff
I could just throw them away, but as much as I complain about the increases a the grocery....... I think not.

The good news/// my freezer is laden with good garden veggies.

Hi Lakegran! It is good to see you back. I like rice cakes too, but I tend to munch too much when I have them.

You're doing great posting your menus, however beachy or un-beachy they are! I've been busy at work, wrapping up fundraising for United Way. My last day is Thursday and all of us are depressed already - 11 week long commitment and it's been a rollercoaster but probably one of the best experiences of my life. Next week I start monogramming at LLBean for the Christmas season while I desperately try to find permanent work. So life has been undisciplined because of piles of food within arm's reach, plus constant lunches/breakfast meetings etc. My new job for the Christmas season will be challenging, too. Out the door by 6:10am, home probably around 4. Many breaks at work, but the only place to go is the cafeteria. I'll try to get to the little exercise room they have on my lunch break and get in 20 min. on the helliptical. At least that's the plan for now!

Just planted my aerogarden with a little lettuce and some herbs - basil and thyme. Need to get some other seeds, maybe parsley or cilantro.

Chris
I miss you, but I am so glad you have had a great work experience for the last months. Does LLBean offer discounts on clothing...that would be nice

I do try to post just what I have eaten the previous day, for awhile some 'forbidden' foods will show up on my menus, too frequently probably....I plan to use up what I have in the house and be more p3 than anything, I just really need to get back to a good SB routine.
regular meals and snacks...I guess we should give up the snacks in p3 but they are really a big part of what makes this woe work for me.
For whatever reason, posting my previous day's menu starts my day in a more positive way. this sounds silly, but when I know I am not going to post I give myself permission to stray from the beachy path.

My new breakfast is 1/2 C legume type beans 1/2 C green beans and an egg (egg/beansx2)

Tuesday
B egg/beans X2
S Cabbage soup yum yum yum
D 2  chicken thighs stuffed w/ spinach and feta, more spinach lima beans
S 1/2 pear and yogurt
Sup. big bagel w cheese, yogurt smoothie ( strawberry/banana )

water ok
yard work 1 1/2 hour ( or so )

Oh, rice cakes with PB and raisins! That sounds so good!! Unfortunately, I am not brave enough to try it. Rice cakes, and raisins are both kinda gateway drugs for me. Both trigger major cravings, which then leads to all sorts of bad, bad munching. Enjoy one for me okay!
