Pancake Mix

Postby Healthybound » Thu Sep 08, 2011 2:24 pm

I bought Bob's Red Mill Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Whoe Grain Mix. To 1 cup of mix, added: 1 egg, 1 TBSP oil and 3/4 cup cold water. Under nutrition is serving size: 1/3 cup dry (38g).

27g total carbohydrates
4g dietary fiber
3g sugars
6 g protein

Ingredients: organic stone ground whole wheat pastry flour, buttermilk powder, wheat gluten, evaporated cane juice, baking powder, baking soda, cornstarch, sea salt.

If I make a recipe using 1 cup of the mix, I assume that, 1/3 cup being a serving size, I can have 1/3 of the cooked pancakes. Is this right? I need some help here as to how much I can eat of it, because it sure is good, and hubby loves his pancakes. He doesn't know what's in it; he just loves pancakes. I would like to make just 1 type of breakfast in the morning, not 2. Thanks.

Yes, I agree with that serving size since it's about an ounce total weight. Let us know how you like them!

Thanks for replying and thanks for replying in the positive. I JUST LOVED THEM!!!! They were scrumptous. I had been having a problem getting my starches in, as my taste buds have changes a lot since being on SBD. I actually did not have 1/3 of the recipe; I only had 2 small leftover pancakes with 1 tsp Agave and 1 tbsp sf strawberry jam.
