Tired all the time

Postby aphere » Sun Aug 28, 2011 7:57 pm

You would think by eating more bright green veggies and not contributing to the high and low bursts from sugar that I would feel MORE energetic and able to do things I love. However, since starting this diet (and getting regular sleep!) I feel exashted by 3 in the afternoon. I guess my personal solutions would be to have more snacks but after trying that for one day it didn't really seem to help. Any suggestions? I'm not limiting my portions- I'm eating all sorts of things...fish...meats...veggies...light cheeses....and as much as I want during mealtimes. Hmmm....puzzled.

It's normal to feel tired in P1. Besides eating more snacks I suggest you add some beans to your meals and snacks. You can have some hummus (from garbanzo beans), with your veggies as a snack. Beans are allowed in all phases, portion is 1/2 cup per meal, but you can have it at more than one meal or snack.
Also, you need to drink some low-fat milk, combined with plain yogurt that you add sweetener and flavor like vanilla, you can have up to 2 cups per day.

Good luck!

Generally speaking your diet is a very good idea. Burt of course your body has to get used to the new situation. Give it some time. And do not become a hardliner - allow yourself a snack or two. It is not unhealthy and will not ruin the result. In fact, it will make you more healthy in the long run.
