well, here we go again. I'm back to counting calories and eating healthier choices (tracking on fitday.com). I met with a personal trainer on Weds., and will do that a couple more times and then start going to the 90-day challenge group they have at the gym. Still doing yoga 2xweek, and I'll supplement with t'mill at home. I am determined to not be a fat mother of the bride next year when dd 1 gets married. There is also that issue of the elevated blood pressure from my elevated weight. Yea, that's kind of in the back of my mind since I refuse the stupid meds they gave me because they caused insomnia and lethargy. (now how's THAT supposed to make me lose weight, eh?)

So, I will attempt to post updates for anyone who's interested. Start weight was 223. 219 this morning. (just curious, that's all. I'm not doing it daily!) Stay tuned for my further adventures!
I'm strong, successful, and will achieve anything I put my mind to!

One week done, and I'm down 7.6 lbs, lost 3/4" from my waist, 1/4" from the hips, 3/4" from thigh, 1/4" from bicep. Not too shabby. Back to the gym today to work with the trainer. Hopefully I won't be in as much agony afterwards as I was last week. If not, oh well. It's deserved from letting myself go so much.

t'mill 4 times in 5 days, so that's a big plus. I even used it this morning, even though I'm going to the gym this afternoon. Oh yea!

I made my first trip to the drop-in class at the gym (my trainer said I was ready), and I survived! WOOHOO! I even made it out walking upright! And I'm not in pain! Awesomeness! Of course, I was lagging behind everybody else, but the trainer was great - so encouraging and helped me with modifying. The other ladies in the class (uber-fit!) were so welcoming and encouraging as well. Unexpected pleasant experience to be sure!

Thanks Jeff. Mary, I know.............how many times have we traveled down this road? (don't answer that!) Time is running out for this old girl, so I can't slip back into bad habits anymore.

Down 11.2 lbs so far. Still have a looonnnggggg way to go, but like the old Chinese proverb says, a journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. And stepping away, I sure am doing!

I'm now taking a fitness class ( performance training - this ain't yo momma's Jazzercize!) twice a week, treadmill and weights on my own twice a week, and yoga twice a week. this week is off because I'm going away for the weekend, but hoping to get a nice walk in on Saturday, and maybe a canoe paddle too. Too much time driving, but the price I pay for getting away.

Hey Mary, my hubby may be stranded in Minneapolis on Monday! He's flying out to ND to see his brother be ordained as a Lutheran minister, and flying back (connection) on Monday. Looks like we may be socked in with a little old hurricane Monday afternoon. Any place good to eat at the airport? lol!

Good motivators! I am hoping to get married to dbf in the next year to two...so that is in the back of my mind, as well as getting pregnant, which is my main motivation for this WOL.

Just wanted to stop in and say hi! I remember you from my days on the beach in 05-06, now I'm back and hoping to get down to at least the 190 I left at. Congrats on your losses!

Congrats Mary AND Dini! Nothing like having a motivator to get us kicked into gear!

I'm still plugging away - 20.6 lbs down thus far. My exercise came to a skidding slowdown 2-1/2 weeks ago. I pulled my gastroc (large calf muscle) during my fitness class, and this puppy is a beeyatch to rehab. I mean, I have to walk to get around, so how do I rest it? I did the whole R.I.C.E. thing, and laid off any serious walking until last week, but it's a struggle. I can't get the t'mill up over 2 mph. Muscle is still stiff and crampy. I'm still using hand weights, and do as much aerobic work as the leg allows. I suspect I may have to breakdown and go for PT on it, as there is most likely some serious scar tissue involved given how tight it is. :( I'm not giving up though!

DD#1 and her fiance will be here this weekend for a wedding planning visit, and the other 2 kiddos will be home for a visit as well - 1st time all 3 have been together at the same time in over 3 years! Should be fun - and I will definitely get pictures. I really do miss them all (DS & DD2 are living together in NYC - he lost his roommate and she still hadn't found a job up here, so he thought if she moved down there with him, she'd stand a better chance at finding something in her field.)

Hope you're all doing great and thanks for not letting me vanish! It's tough getting on here for me (I LIVE on Facebook!)
I'm strong, successful, and will achieve anything I put my mind to!
