My body is sored from yoga/bowling yesterday so today I just did only 20 minutes morning yoga. Tomorrow there will be a BBQ/picnic at the park so I have to watch out what I am going to eat but I think I will have it under control.

Grace2--Thanks. The bbq wasn't that bad. Not many choices so I just ate a little bit. The good part was I ignored cakes and pies completely. :P Next challenge would be 4th of July. Luckily, I am hosting the bbq at my place so I will make black bean (brownie) muffin with whipped topping and have it when my friends have their cake :D

Just finished the yard work. The weeds is growing faster than anything else in my garden :x It has been almost a week that I am on Phase 2. I think I will weigh-in every 2 weeks. Now I need to hide that scale; out of sight, out of mind:

7/2/11 Phase 2 day 6
adding 1 grain/starch

B--2 zucchini-pork patties
--1 flax seed muffin

L--Stir fried soba noodles with beef, cabbage and spinach
--1 black bean brownie

S--1 cup unsweeted soymilk
--1 black bean brownie

D--Spicy beef salad
--2 cups lettuce
--1 black bean brownie

Exercise: 20 minutes A.M. yoga

****As I notice my menu, I have been eating the same things for breakfast. I am not usally hungry in the morning but I have to have something to eat so I made a big batch of patties and muffins. It doesn't make me bored or sick for having those patties or muffins everymorning but I found this way very easy for me to stick to this plan.

I think I am addicted to black bean brownie. I have to have a piece for snack, after lunch and after dinner. I found the solution not to overeat them by cutting one full serving into 3 little serving and now I can have 1/3 of brownie 3 times/day.:) I hope this will be ok

7/3/11 Phase2 day7
adding 1 grain/starch

B--2 zucchini-pork patties
--1 flaxseed muffin

L--Beef curried with bamboo shot and chickpeas
--3/4 cup of soba noodles
--2 cups lettuce
--1/3 black bean brownie

S--1 cup unsweeted soymilk
--1/3 black bean brownie

D--Beef curried
1/3 black bean brownie

Exercise: 80 minutes yoga (20 minutes A.M. yoga and 60 minutes total body workout yoga by Rodney Yee)

Happy 4th of July to you all.

How do you fix your jicama, Prise? Do you cook it?

Grace--I eat it raw. Sometime I eat it with peanut butter. I never try to cook jicama b/c I think it might get soggy.

Today I made a batch of bean brownie but it turned out to be bean cake b/c I made it with dried bean and I put more bean in it. The taste and texture wasn't that bad but it wasn't that sweet so I might eat it for breakfast with sf maple syrup.

I also made banana muffins but I will save them for next week when I add one more serving of grain. My husband had one muffin and he said it was good. He thought it was regular muffin and I didn't tell him that I made them with xylitol and splenda. He won't eat anything that made of sugar substitute.

I don't know how much I have lost since I started phase 2 b/c I haven't stepped on the scale yet. May be I have to check it every morning to see if any food that I add on has an impact on my weigh or not. Hate to be in a habit of stepping on the scale every morning.

7/6/11 Phase 2 Day 10
Adding 2 grain, 2 fruit

B--1 zucchini-pork patties
--2 flaxseed muffins

L--1/2 brown rice
--Stir fried cauliflower with pork

S--1 cup unsweeted soymilk
--1/2 blue berries with cottage cheese

D--Grilled salmon
--2 cups lettuce with avocado salsa
--1 cups jicama
--1 banana muffin (I was about to save them for next week but they smell so good so I just tasted one  )

***with that one banana muffin that I had. It meant I had 2 grains and 2 fruit today. I will have to put those muffins in the freezer and wait until next week when I can have 2 grains and 1 fruit.****

Hi Prise !
You are doing a great job of not stepping on the scale. I wish that I could do that but unfortunately it is the first thing I think of when I wake up in the morning. :( Anyway - I'll bet that on Monday you will have such a nice surprise at the weight loss without having to see all the little ups and downs - just the downs ! Well done !

Hi Prise,
I just joined the group yesterday and noticed that our stats are similar in that I am 5'2" (I like to say 5'3", though) and I am 41. I used to find it really easy to drop 5-10 lbs. if I had gained during a holiday season or other such time but once I hit 40 I think I had the mindset that it was so much harder to lose, etc., etc. I think that mindset has made it harder to lose. This time around, I am telling myself that it is so easy to lose on SB and guess what? It is! Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hello and to thank you for sharing your daily menu. I am eating lots of squash, zucchini, cucumbers, and tomatoes out of the garden, too. Love that summer eating!
