New to SB. Day one 6/29/11 at 8 weeks postpartum

Postby Skturner76 » Wed Jun 29, 2011 4:43 am

Hi there. I'm a working wife and mother to three boys, 10, 4 1/2, & 8 weeks. I was thin until I met and fell in love with my wonderful husband in 1997. I gained around 60 pounds in a matter of months and that was before I started having babies. I now weigh 110 pounds more than I did in high school. I turned 35 in March and had my last baby in May. Now is the time to get this weight off. I'm very healthy otherwise and would like to keep it that way. I would love any support you all can offer. If anyone else is starting now let's do it together.

Everyone is reading, but nobody is talking on your thread, so I'll jump in! Welcome to the journal board - I've been doing SB for over 2 years and it's been wonderful.

Congratulations on your baby - I raised three myself, so know how exhausting it is. You can do SB by cooking pretty simply if that's your choice, but being organized helps a lot. Cooking big batches of things like chili, cutting up veggies for snacks and putting them in small ziplocs, keeping low fat cheese sticks and nuts on hand will really help. Keep posting and keep reading - we're all here for you!

Are you breastfeeding? If so just start in Phase 2. I too have 3 kids and need to get back to fighting weight! Great job jumping into SB- I find planning is key- knowing what I will eat for all meals for the day, or at least having easy options in the fridge (precut veggies, hard boiled eggs, precooked chicken breast, etc). That is how I survivie with a 5,3 and 1 year old!! Good luck!!!

Welcome to the Beach! What Canadianbeacher said about starting in P2 if you are breastfeeding sounds wise (to me). There is lots of info on this forum, so be sure to check out the FAQs for all phases.

Congrats on your little one! Hope you are getting some sleep  My children are grown now, but I sure remember (and cherish) those days...
