Hello Ladies,
I am back on phase 1. after a few months break. I never put the weight back on that I lost the first time around - hooray! But I didnt lose any more (not surprisingly).
I am on day 5 and finding it so much easier than the first time earlier this year.
I must admit that I havent bothered with low fat cheese, but maybe dont have as much as some with each portion...doesnt seem to have made any difference tbh.
I have a few SB friendly meals we eat regularly - a nice chicken curry and the good ole chilli which helps me feel comfortable this time. At least it's summer this time around I can eat lots of lovely Feta salads!!
Hope it's going well for everyone? :)

Hi Zoe
How much did you lose before? Do you have much to lose? Must confess I went straight from weightwatchers to P2 here- bypassed P1 altogether  I have about 12 lbs to go,

Just a quick wave to see if there any other brits out there - this is such a useful thread! I had really searched for some ingredients in my preparation phase. Now on day 4 of P1, so have planned out to the end of P1 but there's still some stuff here that I might look at when I next go to get supplies

Great thread! I am an American living in France, and I also found it harder to find the "light" cheeses except for La Vache Qui Rit. I did find a section in Monoprix with a bigger"light" cheese selection, but very pricey! Also does Fromage Blanc count towards dairy or towards cheese? I am getting ready to start Phase 1, and I know we can have 1 yogurt/day, but would fromage blanc count towards that? Otherwise I bought "yaourt nature 0%" Thanks!

Thanks for the thread from me as well! Great help. Living in Germany at the moment and it´s harder to find light products here. There are some but the selection is quite limited.

There may be cheeses that aren't labeled "light" or "lowfat" that are fine. A lot of goat cheese, Parmesan, mozzarella, and feta is fine as is. If there's nutrition information on the package, you'll probably find something about the grams of fat per 100 g of cheese. For 100 g, the fat grams should be 20 or less. (But the actual serving size is closer to 30g, and there shouldn't be more than 6g of fat for that.)

Khadijah, where do you live in France? Maybe we could exchange some experience/support/advice. I've been living in France for a couple of years now and finding it hard sometimes to be consistent with the SBD in a country where low fat cheese equals sacrilege and artificial sweeteners are the devil!

Thanks so much for your post - most of the info is relevant to Irish SBD-ers as well! (we don't have sainsbury's, but Tescos and M&S are here, as is Holland and Barratt)...

Hello there! Where is Holland and Barratt located? Never heard of it....I m from Wicklow.
Would appreciate your help

UK people - ASDA have started doing a 'lighter' Marscapone. It's gorgeous and beats the wossname out of Quark!!

I'm an American living here for almost 8 years now. It was really frustrating at first when I couldn't find my favorite foods or anything even similar to what I was used to.

SuW, thanks for the tip on Asda selling light marscapone, I'll have to check it out.

Now if they would only come out with egg substitute here....
Cheers!

This thread is great, thanks a lot! I'm from Germany and I have been wondering for ages if I can eat Quark because there is no nf ricotta to be found here. Finally I found the answer here, thanks! I love nf Quark for breakfast, with some cacao baking powder and cinnamon it's just delicious! :)

The Babybel light advise is also great, we have that here, too, and I've already stocked up on it for snacks. If you're on the road, Babybel light with some cherry tomatoes totally safes you :) .

Any more Germans here who would like to share experiences and advise?
