What a relief Chris for you and your family!!! :D So happy that the health care will be all straightened out soon.
Thanks for the encouragement. I have been exercising but not drinking enough water and eating too much. I am hoping I had something VERY salty. We will see what this week brings. I am hoping just to lose what I am up. We will think positive!

I'm glad you got your snowshoeing in before the bad part of the storm. It was wild here! I went out snowshoeing on Wed, it was icy and lumpy, which made my knee a little unhappy, but I thought we were getting freezing rain on Friday so I wanted to get out there before it got worse. If I had known we were really getting 8" of snow I would have waited. Maybe it won't be so sore tomorrow and I can get out, although it's gorgeous today!

It looks like you're being disciplined with food, too. What brand of turkey sausage do you use? I'd like to find one that tastes good and is actually low in fat - some of them don't seem to be. I'm very disappointed that shrimp season is ending this weekend - I never got out to get the frozen less expensive clean shrimp that the guy in Waldoboro sells - he used to have a truck nearer my house, but doesn't seem to be around this year. I was going to stock up and never did. :(

Chris- I used Shady Brook Farm Hot Italian sausages. They are still 8 grams of fat in them :evil: but I was hungry for sausages and it was the only option in the store. They taste pretty good but a bit salty. Dh is going to miss shrimp season also. I am allergic to them but I make them for him. My weakness are the scallops. I love them and there is so much one can do with them.

It was beautiful out snowshoeing today. The white snow, blue skies and spruce trees. I was out an hour again today. I am trying hard to keep up the exercise and beachy woe.

Todays menu-
b=egg/beans breakfast
l=Salad topped with turkey salad and a bit of tropical fruit. SF fudgsicles
D=(will be) Pan seared scallops with 3 citrus sauce, quinoa salad, green beans. wine
s=????

I am going to do my yoga dvd this afternoon while DH takes his nap.

Hi Yello. Thanks for stopping by my journal. I live on an island connected to the mainland by a bridge and a causeway in mid coast Maine. Snowshoeing is great and really the main exercise that I enjoy. We have ten acres behind our home that has periodic views of the ocean and I love to go out in the woods to snowshoe.
Yes I do use blackbeans and sometimes Navy beans. I always add green peppers, mushrooms, and onions that have been sauteed and a little chili powder or cumin. Sometimes I have salsa, sour cream or avocado with it as well. I top it with a poached egg. yummy. Chris told me about this and is now my favorite breakfast.

The snowstorm today was just a dusting thank goodness!
Todays menu
b=beans/egg
l=turkey salad on tossed salad, fruit, sf fudgsicle
S=fiber bar
D=will be grilled steak, mushrooms, salad, wine and probably a dove chocolate.

Exercise=one hour snowshoeing

I hope you're enjoying your big city weekend, Dotty! Too bad it's raining, but at least it's above freezing!!!

I informed DH that I'm going to the flower show next weekend, or maybe I'll just go on Thursday since I have nothing on the calendar.

What a wonderful weekend with the family. I will be going back on Friday for the flower show. I was not beachy this weekend but I loved every minute of my time with my granddaughter Ava who is only 3. We went to the childrens museum and had alot of fun. She is the best thing ever.

I just got back from the Flower Show. I never did buy my ticket and Hannaford doesn't sell them once the show starts. Anyhow, I drove down by myself (peace and quiet!), parked in one of the big garages, walked over and took the shuttle bus back. It was a very wonderful relaxing time - not too crowded like I imagine it will be on on the weekend. I was a little disappointed by the amount of color, though. It seemed that a lot of the big exhibits were all about the landscaping/rocks/waterfalls and not about the flowers. It amazed me how they dragged all the rocks and things in there and built such elaborate displays. There were 3 or 4 that I really liked. I ended up buying myself a small potted primrose in yellow to cheer up my kitchen.

I don't know why they moved the show from the Expo - isn't that where it usually is? The buildings are very old and rickety, not handicapped accessible by any means, unless there was a hidden freight elevator somewhere. Very uneven floors, lots of water, prime place for a broken leg. Glad I wore my sturdy shoes! Lots of fun vendors - I fell in love with some porch swings made by a company in Brunswick.

It was too cold and raw to walk around the Old Port - I'll save that for a sunny day when I can enjoy. I did a pit stop on the way home at Big Al's - it was their first day open, so I was able to get my Easter cards and some wrapping paper. I love that place!

I was good and packed my lunch so all I bought was a coffee. They did have chowders, wraps, and some kind of salad but I economized and ate beachy. Have a blast tomorrow!

Big Hugs ((((())))). I've been thinking about you and hoping you were gone for a better reason - sorry things haven't been going well.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I overindulged, the kids are all moving back home for the summer, and my eating is going downhill. I'm trying to get a grip on it all, organizing before they return. Farmer's Market is open, so that makes me happy :D .
