Honestly I dont think I will ever figure the scales out. I got weighed in this morning for the 10 lb by summer challenge and I am at 168!!! That is 12 lbs for the month of January and I am so happy about that!! :D :D :D I guess all that snowshoeing and shoveling has finally paid off on the scale. :D

B-yogurt parfait and coffee at McDonalds
L- mushroom swiss burger at a local restaurant with a small salad. No bun. glass of merlot
D-1/2 of a small chicken breast half, broccoli and carrots. 1 dove dark
No snacks

Shoveled out the driveway which took an hour plus walked alot today.
Water intake good.

Wow, dotty! I guess all the snow is a good thing. We only got around 3-4" today, mostly late this afternoon, but I'm bracing for the next round tomorrow. My poor DH - he's at work from 7 to 5 every day and even though that gets him out of most of the clearing out at home, he has to clean out his parking space at work every night so he can come home. It's getting to be too much. I am so happy with my new Subaru. Had to drive DS to Rockland for class from 4 to 7 and the roads were a mess - really glad my DD smacked up my Focus - I wouldn't have been driving at all this winter!

I think Mother Nature is truly trying to get the best of us Chris. We had about 4 inches here this afternoon. This is the sixth storm in six weeks and tomorrow will make the seventh in that amount of time. And whats up with Saturday. :twisted: Another snow possibility. :twisted: We have an outback and it is great in snow. You gotta love the subarus :D

I am so glad I have my 4WD. I would be sitting home all winter otherwise! I was hanging around at TJMaxx in Rockland yesterday while DS was in his class and the snowplows kept plowing me in. They were clearing paths to drive on, but then when I followed them, they'd turn and trap me between them. I felt like I was stuck in a video game! Finally I got fed up and just drove over the deeper snow that they hadn't plowed and got out of the parking lot! I went back to the school and sat in the reception/lobby area and read my book. I love my library in winter!

I'm ready to move to Florida, and I hate Florida. Maybe San Diego. This snow is ridiculous already! DS and I shoveled 3 times today. I called DH at work and asked him to pick up a roof rake because our roof looks scary for the first time since we moved here in '84. Usually the snow slides down big chunks - our roof is very steep just for that purpose. But it's all stuck behind ice and it's not going anywhere. So tomorrow I get to try and scrape some of it off. Can't do the front due to power lines, but at least the sun hits there so it's probably not as bad. I haven't hiked my way around front - we use the back entrance all the time.

Are you going out to lunch in Rockland? Many nice restaurants but I only know the unhealthy ones like the Rockland cafe. I know all the places that serve fried seafood! Even though DH works up there we don't eat out there very often. He likes to escape the area when he's not at work.

Good luck with your 10 lb. challenge. You're on a roll with your eating and exercise so you should do great. I'm half in and half out. Not sure if I'm entirely motivated.

It has to stop. I have no room and those plow drivers plowed in my driveway three times today, with 4' the first time and 2' the second time, and a nice little pile that I hope DH can drive over, because I AM DONE. I raked as much as I could reach off the roof and now my shoulders, neck, and arms are very sore. And they just keep threatening us with more! But the fun thing is that Boston has had more than we have :lol:

All the exercise is making me crave carbs, so tomorrow I'm hoping to get that back under control. I'm really not happy eating cold veggies and cheese for snacks when I've been out in the cold for an hour at a time two or three times a day working so hard. I'm hoping to do a Sam's Club run for my paper goods and some cheese and veggies tomorrow and get my act together!

If we all survive this winter with our sanity intact I will be amazed!! :? I dont remember this much snow since I was a little kid and I am sure it looked like alot more because I was small. L=Salad and bean soup , sf fudgecyle
D=Lobster with lemon, salad, vodka and water cocktail with lemon. 1/2 container yogurt
S=1 dove dark, popcorn,

Snowshoeing for the exercise :)

Hope you've recovered from your cold/flu and were able to enjoy the day with your friend! I've been home cooking and puttering most of the day. Made an extra dinner for tomorrow, our late night, and cookies to mail to DD. Not a good move - I've eaten two already. :roll:

Thank goodness I am feeling better. I lost a lb this week , I seem to have settled into a 1 lb weight loss pattern. As long as it is going down is the important part. I feel so much better with this woe that even if no weight came off it is worth doing. My health is alot better. :mrgreen:

Glad to see you're still losing. I've been off-track so much that my pants are getting a little snug. I need to shake it up a bit. I did go to the gym today and worked out for 35 minutes, so that was a good start. Food - not so good. Crazy busy day, too many snacks. Ended up driving home from Rockland in the slush/ice tonight. Yuk! I'm done with this stuff!

Too bad Cappy's can't make bean soup. It's always disappointing when you try to be good and the food isn't up to par. It's nice that the salad was satisfying - salads are hard for me to get excited about when I'm in a restaurant. At least you got out, shopped a little, and had some girl time! I like just walking around the stores there and in Rockland, but there are so many new restaurants that I haven't tried. DH works up there and it's the last place he wants to be when not working.

Rockland and Camden are very pretty in their own way and it was fun to spend time there however the restaurants werent real exciting. Today I have not been very beachy. B= egg, lt ww toast, coffee
L=pea soup and water
D=scallop stew and 4 crackers, yogurt, wine, wine, and another glass of wine.

DH and I had to go to the dental hygienist for our 6 mo. cleaning and about a week ago I thought I had lost a filling. Turned out the reason I lost the filling was because I had broken a tooth and it split down the middle through the root. Funny it didnt hurt unless I bit down on it. Long story short is that the tooth had to be extracted and I have a very sore mouth that requires soft food. I thought the wine would numb it a bit :lol:

Tomorrow I have to make a spiced chocolate torte with chocolate ribbons for a special party. It will be tough not to lick the spoons! :wink:
No exercise today, too unhappy with my toothlessness. :P

Your cake sounds dangerous! I'm looking for a light dessert to make for company on Sunday. I don't want to do anything over the top since DH has warned me that he's getting me Valentine candy on Monday. :roll:

My condolences on the tooth. The same thing happened to me about 2 years ago. I was about to have a crown done when I bit down on a Triscuit and it cracked. I ended up with an extraction, an implant, and an empty bank account!

There are lots of soft things you can eat until it feels better though - soft veggies like eggplant and squash, fish, bean soups.
