Wow good for you on the weight loss AND especially for winning a round with the dreaded snack monster
I have learned that I really need to have a 'planned' snack ready for evening. sometimes it even works

Thanks Cac! And you are right about the cold. When the wind blows it is worse. :( but it is pretty.

Hi Lakegran :D I am going to follow your advice and have a good snack ready. Sometimes that miserable snack monster is stronger than others but together we can beat it! Lots of times I come on here and read peoples journals and that has helped alot.

Good day today
B- beans/peppers/ egg/ cheese
L= veg soup, fruit
S-nuts
D- salad, meatloaf (leftover)

God help all those families in Arizona  Such a tragedy.

Good job on your progress. I know you will do great with this new way of eating and living. Hope your dh is as supportive as you are to him with his medical issues.

Wow, way to go on the 8 pounds! I am sure it feels fantastic to see the scale move that much. It sounds like you are doing great starting the exercise. I begin my plan tonight and with my new resolve to get to bed earlier, my husband has offer to do the kids bedtimes himself so I can use that time to exercise! I am so excited because now I will get the workout in and also get to bed at a decent hour. If only my daughter would start sleeping through the night I would be set! We are battling teething now too so my night sleep is always interrupted.

Speaking of snow, we just got dumped about 2 feet this weekend. It's a blizzard I haven't seen in a very long while. I hope your weather is nice so you can continue to get your walks in! I am so envious that you live in walking distance of a beach.

Continued good luck battling that snack monster!

Six hours shopping! That qualifies as a marathon in my book :D

I'm ready for the snow - car is in the barn, we're stocked up on food, I'm looking forward to a little shoveling (the first 5 minutes is usually fun) and a hot chocolate and nap afterwards. They keep upping the amount, so they're getting me worried. DH has to drive to work no matter what, so I don't like when we get piles. I'm hoping he gets to work before it hits.

What exactly is Mexican chicken? It sound delicious! We are due for another dump of snow over the next 5 days and I am not looking forward to it. I can definitely attest to the fact that shovelling snow is great exercise!

I found the recipe on the slow cooker stickie in the recipe section on this site. It is so simple and so good, I think the recipe is actually called Taco chicken. It is 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 1 package chicken taco seasoning, 1 cup salsa. Cook in slow cooker on low for 4-6 hours. 30 minutes before it is done you mix 1 Tbsp corn starch with 1 Tbsp cold water and stir into the chicken mixture. Add 1/4 cup low fat sour cream. Yummy!

We got around 12" here, I think. Not quite sure because I kept going out throughout the day and doing layers. Luckily it wasn't too heavy here, but today it did pack down a bit. The roads were horrible. DH got to work before it hit, but the drive home was pretty bad. I was out early this morning with him to drop my car off and the roads were still awful - couldn't see pavement on Route 1, my road in town had a few inches on it, what a mess! I was doing 35 on Route 1 and 90 most of the way. But by the time I was coming home at 8:30am the plows had evidently been out and the sun was doing its thing.

I'd love to do some snow shoeing, but was way too busy today. Tomorrow we're going swimming, so I'll probably try to snow shoe over the weekend. I need to get moving - nothing but sitting in the car and sitting in my chair and sitting in the coffee shop today!

What a day yesterday was!! We had to travel 2 hours to see our trust attorney and then back to DH's eye doctor where he had an injection in his eye for macular degeneration. There is always something for the poor guy to go through!! I am beginning to get a little depressed about it. Of course the trip to the lawyer didnt help. The good news however is that I stayed on track with my eating. Bad week for exercise though. Only got out a couple of times. Today was a wake up weigh in because I lost only a pound but I knew it would be low because of the lack of exercise. Its OK because I know I have my woe down pat. Just need to get motivated to move.

Exercise today was 30 minutes of snowshoeing.
B- 1/2 bagel thin (ww) peanut butter, yogurt with strawberries
L-Leftover chicken on salad
D- will be bean soup and salad and a small choc. for dessert
s- cheese and whole grain crackers
Water intake a little low

All in all, not a bad day for me.
It is snowing again.
