zas diary-my journey to a new me !!!!

Postby zas » Fri Dec 03, 2010 9:19 pm

first to introduce myself ...i am a 39 yr old female ....been overweight most of my life....made my decision to change my lifestyle this april, when i reached my highest weight of 242 lbs !!!!
lost more than 35 lbs with fat loss 4 idiots diet...but past few was kinda stuck and going about in circles...thus thought maybe my body needed a change in diet.....
...lost 6.6 lbs in the first week.....but next week saw a gain of 1.5 lbs  does this happen??? could it be tom ???
following the rules pretty well...except for one day when i took a bite of a sweet !!! sweets are my real weakness :( :

as of today i have started my second phase.....planning to make it go perfect....
not aiming for a big loss every week ....even 1 lb would do...but there should definitely be a loss ...it would be highly motivating :)
starting weight: 206.5 lbs
current weight : 202 lbs
sw: on sb diet :206 lbs (started 19th nov '10 )
:202 lbs (12/12/10)
went astray in between so starting again .....18/4/11
sw: 213 lbs
goal:150 lbs

Welcome to the journals! :)

And really there are no guarantees about weight loss in any specific week. It's actually pretty normal to plateau for a few weeks as you go through the transition process into P2. It might be a good time to put away your scale if a stall or slight gain is going to de-motivate you. Good luck and enjoy the adventure! :)

thanks guys for the welcome. :D

redrox is right i should put away my scale.....i like this way of eating and truly do not want to get demotivated....but you know how human nature is....curiosity kills!!!!
being in fl4i diet has trained me well...it was too based on almost the same principals.....bread rice..etc are no more missed by me....the food i miss has already been added in phase 2 ...
comparatively i feel sb is better because i am having vegetables with all my meals...thus reducing my meat intake...which was a bit towards the higher side before.
i like my tea with milk...so now i have that back !!! and i am having an apple a day !!!.....initially we have to keep 1 serving of these foods ...right ???
missed my workouts since the past 3 days :x ....will definetly take out time today...

Welcome! They do say to add one serving of a fruit or grain daily and to stick to the same one for about a week or so, that way you can tell how it affects you (i.e., do your cravings come back, etc.). Good luck!

But even in P1, you could have up to 2 cups of dairy (allowed types of milk/yogurt) daily and in P2 that expands to 2-3 cups daily with small amounts of certain flavored types of yogurt also available. (In P1, only plain FF/LF yogurt is allowed.)

I personally like weighing regularly, but it took me awhile to work through the emotional rollercoaster I was putting myself early on, both up and down, before I could get past my attachment to the number being displayed. Eventually I realized I was just really literally driving myself crazy!! The issue is not, weighing vs. not weighing, but more about becoming aware of our reactions to that process, and often realizing that if we are committed to the process of going through a lifestyle change, the feeback from an inanimate object really is pretty irrelevant.

Zas, it really helps if you get your snacks in between your meals. They recommend (as a perfect snack) 1 oz. of lean protein and veggies (however much you want), or just veggies. The 15 nut serving is good for a snack too, as is the yogurt. It looks like you aren't snacking between breakfast and lunch, or lunch and dinner, so that may be a way to fit your dairy, beans, or extra veggies in. I also think that, when you have a bunch of opportunities to eat different tasty things throughout the day, you really don't get a chance to feel "deprived," and that has been a huge reason that (for me anyway) SB is so much easier to do long term than any other type of "lifestyle change." Enjoy your trip!

Zas do you mind telling us where you are posting from? In the beginning when I saw your post times I thought you were either a very early riser :D or a night owl....... I see things like mutton and capiscum? on your menus so I am guessing .....maybe Ireland? Uk. or even Canada?.........We don't see much lamb here and when we do it is horribly expensive.....I LOVE the stuff. Thanks for stopping by my journal.
