What a couple of weeks!!! Hectic and I have not been in here I see. So I did not weigh last week I do not think, but I will reluctantly get on the scale tomorrow to assess the damage this last week has done which will in turn hopefully motivate me to get back ON TRACK! !!!! I started my teaching prac on Monday. So I have been in the grade three`class about an hour just observing, walking around, being very teacher like. But I am just about to do my maiden shona lesson so I think right let me check my vocab with the teacher….. so I go in there and am chatting nicely with her. I turn around to get something and her eyes nearly pop out their sockets…. Your trousers are torn she says! Omg.... they were too! LOL. Really big split too and you can see my nice big white butt - and leg! She felt so sorry for me but I just thought it was funny. I was prepared to tie my jacket around my waist but she would hear nothing of it and marched me off to find cotton and needle to sew it up. So there I sat huddled in a smelly kids loo trying to thread a wretched needle (with failing eyesight!) so I can sew my way back to decency!! What a excellent start!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seriously could only happen to me. Thankfully there were no further wardrobe malfunctions and I loved my class and my supervising teacher ! Next week I go into Grade 1. I am sure the weeks will speed by, you sure are kept busy. I am so exhausted by the end of the day!

Thanks Wanda for always popping by even when I am absent!

    Sh about your pants and butt being white  :!: Too funny woman. Glad that she was able to offer an alternative though so you didn't have to walk around like that all day

You all are stuck with me so no need to thank me...i've got your back 8) :D

Here I am still rolling on.... alas. not losing, maybe gaining but too scared to get on the scale. I will make the same post as I made over on my regular (or not so regular at this stage) thread...... yesterday we had to put our darling, beloved Carmen down. This is my precious dog of the house..... my 'first born' who has brought us nearly 12 years of pure joy, devoted love and happiness. We are all going to miss her so very much, but I will feel particularly lost without my constant (and much better looking!) shadow. We loved her so much we chose not to let her suffer, and I truly believe she did not. Both Greg and I were at her side stroking her beautiful, gentle face. She now lies at the bottom of our garden next to dear Jezebel and Chaim, the other originals of our doghouse....
foodwise... i eat what i feel like. not always good not always bad. but come monday when my teaching prac is over (and hopefully internet is back up and running) i will post with the gain/loss (hahaha!) and get cracking again..... mmm i know it is not meant to be like this. i know i should be looking at this as a life long consistent plan and i do (look) but i don't (do!) that is about all for now. i will be back!

Hi Shaunagh, I am so sorry to read about your dog. Dogs are the best and a huge part of the family that is always there no matter what kind of mood you are in. What a beautiful way to have to pass with her best friends holding her.
I am pretty much eating whatever too but I know that I can start soon I just don't know when. Maybe with you this Monday. I am afraid to weigh in but maybe I need to do that to get started. good luck getting your teaching prac done and have a great weekend!

A repeat of my post over on SBO. ........ so i got on the scale very reluctantly yesterday morning to ascertain damage of the last few weeks - hmmmmmmm wait for this 3 KILOGRAMMES - yes that is correct...... kgs, not lbs multiply by 2.204 and that is the magnitute of the disaster. anyway i scuttled off to my diary to check if tom was due and it is, so hopefully that is an excuse for at least 1 of them but alas the other two are down to BAD food choices (sandwiches for lunch etc) and wine in the evenings! Anyway today will be the start of a gentle (hopefully regular) stroll on the beach.
Did i ever mention this ..... a couple we know was giving us a puppy - their dog went to stud and instead of taking a fee they chose pick of the litter and said we could have it. so anyway, this was all organised before my darling carmen died , no -one could replace her, BUT we now have the cutest little GSD puppy in our home. His name is Tokoloshe as he was born on Africa day he needed an African name. However, a tokoloshe is a naughty mischievous spirit so the locals are not loving his name!! hahha, maybe it will keep the thieves out!! who were back last night  after a long absence...... so both kids were in the bed with us again. my eldest (nearly 6) pipes up "Oh mummy, I am not the bravest little girl in the world" . precious child, I reassured her that I was not the bravest mummy in the world either and there is nothing wrong with that!
right, must dash. i want to head off to get my hubby an anniversay pressie. it is out tenth tomorrow - which is aluminium. I do not really know what to get him. I was chatting to the teachers at DD's nursery and one suggested some tin foil - - or maybe some garlic bread in the tin foil if he was a very good boy! sooooo funny. very frugal but as i rather love him and want to spoil him this year i might splash out a bit more than just a loaf of evil carbs wrapped in foil - (besides it is not that beachy!!)
Today I went for my first WALK in over a month - it was DIVINE! I never know why I stop. It was dark when I left the house and i was a bit scared (we had intruders last night and I was scared they might still be hiding in the garden!!!0 anyway , it all went well and I loved it!!!

Dammit those intruders Shaunagh! WTH do they keep targeting your house?? I'm gonna send an alarm to Zim that goes off if the window or door opens. So sorry to hear this and will be praying for your family! I especially love how you handeled DD...you're such a good mom

Congrats to you and DH on ten wonderful years together!!! We just celebrated our 12th in May and have been with him for 16yrs. I love LOVE 8) :D Suggesstions: 1. Stuff a pretty tin box with a love note, love coupons, a current picture of the two of you, etc. 2. Tin cuff links. 3. Tin picture frame, vase, bank or paper weight. For our 10th we got new rings so didn't do the 'tin' thing as our rings were platinum with diamonds. Not sure what stores you have there but would think a tin picture frame or box would be an easy find at a Hallmark type store. Good luck!

We've all been slightly off on the meals so you're not alone  For me, I know it's the summer weather that makes me feel relaxed but won't fall completely off the Beach. Trying to make sure at least 2 meals are SB friendly so feel I hit that 95% for the day

Take care and be careful please and thank you!

Hi Wanda, I'll answer you here instead of over on your journal.... the intruders - sigh - well they visit MOST houses not just ours. we were only silly enough to think our home was so humble we did not need extra security. Now we have it all so while they may drop by from time to time and set off our alarms, they would have a hard time getting in. And now we have our new dog (pics on SBO thread!) he will be a further deterrant (nnedless to say I am talking about the german shepherd, not the silly soppy golden retriever!!!)
so i only read your post this am, and i had already got the pressies. i got a beautiful hand crafted ornament. i will post a pic actually..... it is so cool. and i bought a hand woven basket from the DRC (Congo) whcih I filled with hand written notes of all our happy, momentous memories and of course the little things I love about my man.... me and you are like this Wanda... click click (chink chink  ) you came up with a similar idea!!! okay must go now. off to get all my work books stamped and am delivering a home made carrot cake (they are eating it not me!!) to all the teachers who so graciously had me in their classrooms. xxxx

Sh, that is good to hear..whew! Not that it's a good thing they keep you up with the alarms but I was concerned they were successful with the entry.

Sssssooooo....how did the anniversary go???!! Was thinking of you over the weekend and yes, my dear, great minds think alike  8)

Take good care of Sh today please and thank you!

I'm back... not quite on the beach - more the board walk, but will be paddling with the rest of you soon! Lovely anniversary, DH LOVED the gifts! Will weigh on Friday and we will see if I have lost some of those pesky kilos I gained over my prac. I have started walking again, such a good feeling!
