I am new here...I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes when I was 22. At that time, I was 245 lbs (at 5 ft 3). I stayed that way until I was 32. My Dr. prescribed me a new medicine called Byetta (its a shot you take before breakfast and dinner). I lost 60 pounds in a year. I was really excited. I started going to the gym and doing things for myself for the first time.
All of this change caused me to have more self esteem than I have ever had. I moved to a new town with a new job and left an extremley bad 10 year marriage and found myself! During that time, I met a wonderful man and we were married 8-15-09....but with marriage and happiness, also comes comfort and comfort food that's not really the best.
Well, for some reason, my diabetes would NOT go under control. No matter what I did or what I ate, nothing helped. In 2008, I had emergency gall bladder surgery. It was a rough recovery for me. During that surgery, they found a tumor on my liver. They went back for another surgery 5 weeks after the first. While this was all going on, I gained alot of weight back (I couldn't eat anything, and what I could eat to keep down wasn't good for me...milk, ice cream, pasta etc...).
So, here I am, at 200 pounds again, fighting my way back to health. After a 5 day hospital stay recently, I found the SBD and had my husband buy me the book. I have just finished the 2 week Phase 1 plan and not only lost 10 pounds, but I also have noticed a change in my sugars.
However, here is my question: in the morning, my sugars are HIGH, I mean, not crazy, but usually 120 to 130, but when I take my night sugars, I am between 79-97. I can't explain it.
Does anyone else have this issue, or know what the heck I can do??
