kattybrneyes,i feel you pain.i felt like you soooo many times.not only about my weight but about drinking alcohol and doing drugs.
When you are sick and tried of being sick and tired you MUST fight to get your thoughts in order.
sometimes we can't do things on our own,we need help.I don't know if you believe in God and the power of prayer but you have to get the strength to over come those thoughts.

Different things work for different people. The lord is my strength but you have to get your mind under control and not let your thought rule you.
I haven't taken a drink in 3 yrs and no drugs in 5 yrs(thank God)because i got sick and tired of doing drugs and then i got tired of drinking.I cried a many days.

Now I'm sick and tired of being fat.you have to realize you are in control of what goes in your mouth. No one can do it for you.You have to get your thought together and cast out thought and imaginations that have cause you to eat stuff that's putting weight

Everyone has problem in their life.everyone handings them differently.me i pray my way threw, other...i don't know.but you have taken the first step and have realized that you are tired of being fat..now it's up to you.

yes it's good to keep a Journal(i have one here, named Onami) it helps to post your thoughts and food for the day and how you are feeling.
you have made the first step and realized that you are tired ,now do something about it.
don't let evil thoughts get into your mind and rob you of your happiness and stop you from have peace in life.

hang in there!

Hey Ktty!

Like you this is my third time around ~ 3's a charm right ;) Unlike you I haven't faced the types of hardships you have in recent times however I do know what it's like to turn to food! I think many on this board do. It tastes good, it feels good and it doesn't talk back it just makes you feel happy! I'm 35 yrs old have two kids and have packed on quite a few since last year when I quit smoking SO I'm back and this time I have decided that when I'm feelin like I wanna eat a whole bowl of pasta with white sauce and a chunk of bread that I will make a spagetti squash pour a little marinara and read a book! I'm trying to change my patterns. Take a look in the mirror and tell yourself you are worth it!! You are. Make the changes daily and don't get down if you slip. I go day by day, yesterday I saw some ferrero rocher chocolate that my husband had put on the shelf.. I thought hmmm that would taste sooo good and then I thought I don't "need" it and the feeling passed. That 1 thing made me a little stronger.. I made the whole day without a slip.. I have made 5 days without a slip and everyday I'm happier with myself and that's on top of starting to feel physically better too. It's not easy to change but you CAN do it. There are many people here who can lend support when you need it.. just ask.

Lot's of luck!!

You certainly are dealing with a lot of stress and my sympathy and prayers are with you. You need to take care of and pamper yourself quite a bit, but not with cookies and pasta!

If you haven't joined a support group to help deal with the loss of your child, try and find one. Nobody else understands how painful that can be. Yes, we can understand intellectually, but it takes other people in your shoes to really relate. Exercise will also help give you endorphins, which will help your feel better emotionally. If you can't afford a gym or Y membership, most libraries have exercise DVDs that you can borrow. It's hard to exercise in winter but if you force yourself to do it, you will feel better in the long run. Make the time for yourself to exercise and have an at-home spa day. Take a bubble bath, paint your toenails, light some candles, have some healthy soup in a pretty bowl.

Find some comfort foods that are SB friendly. Some of my favorite healthy comfort foods are chili, creamy pureed veggie soups with some light Velveeta stirred in, veggies roasted in olive oil, eggplant lasagna, and almost anything with melted low fat cheese. Apples sliced an cooked in the microwave with a bit of cinnamon gives you something warm and yummy and comfort smells.

I haven't told you anything you don't already know and I realize you can't always do what you know you need to do. Just start with small steps so you're moving in the right direction. The support on this board is wonderful - keep checking in here and you'll find lots of people to talk to. Stop beating yourself up when you slip. We all slip and most of us aren't dealing with anywhere near the stress you're dealing with.

I'm glad that you've been sticking with it - no post on this thread for a while! Getting through this difficult time and sticking with a healthy diet shows how strong you really are. You can do this, you are doing it. Give yourself a big pat on the back!!
