Ive done SB before at the age of 17 in 2006. It worked wonders for me. At the time I was in high school and working full time so i barely had anytime to prepare anything to eat. My day was pretty regulated. Up by 6 in bed by 11. I went to school for 4 hours (my senior year( then went to work for 1. I would eat either before or as soon as i arrived at school, then i would have lunch on my way from school to work, then dinner on my break at work. As i remember it the results were great. I remember living off of crystal light as a beverage as well as water (not as often as i should i can admit but more than most who live off of juice and soda). My food consisted of subway, mcdonalds and wendys salads, because i was always on the run. Now i fast forward 3 years later. I am 21 years old, and i am reattempting the south beach diet. I have cut out red meat (personal choice) and alcohol entirely from my diet. I rarely eat fish (im not a fish person), the only fried food i may eat is a scrambled egg, which i am pretty sick of. I eat an abundance of veggies (omitting carbohydrates of course) , beans, and lean cuts of chicken, all baked, grilled, or roasted I snack on a couple nuts here and there, i am back to drinking crystal light, and i will have a diet soda on occasion but very rarely. I am frustrated already because i started on Nov the 2nd and it is now the 20th, and i have yet to drop a pound. I have faith in this diet because i know it has worked for me before, but am driving my self nuts trying to remember when i started to see some results back in 2006. I do remember the weight loss creeping up on me like a surprise, but it makes my 3rd week officially on monday, and i refuse to give up on it because of all the time and money i have invested to keep me from cheating. The last time i did this diet i didnt lift a finger to work out, and i lost about 15 pounds. This time around i am in my gym's cardio and pilates class at least 2-3 times a week and still NOTHING!!! I thought at least working out would act as some sort of a catalyst towards losing some weight as well as toning. I can honestly say that yes my body is getting stronger physically, just from the working out not the diet, and i can even see some definition in my arms and legs, but my belly remains the same, and it is my worst appendage. The only difference i can probably say is I am not in school at the moment and am currently unemployed. Iam home most of the time and am constantly lying down. I dont fall asleep until 6am almost every night and dont wake up until 2:30pm in the afternoon. It isnt by choice. I cant for the life of me fall asleep at night. I head to my workout class sometime in the evening. Maybe because of my sluggish lifestyle my results are taking much longer. Although i eat breakfast lunch and dinner late, i do only eat 3 meals a day. I havent touch a carb in almost three weeks, the closest ive come was by eating flax bread (which i believe is allowed in the first phase) i dont know but if i dont see results by the end of the month, i think i'll start pulling my hair out! If some one could give me a shread of hope, it would give me the drive to stick it out. (i dont remember it being this hard the first time i did this!!!)
