I use frozen veggies (and canned, sometimes) quite a bit.... mostly as side dishes... warm them up in the microwave or a pot w/ water, and wala! I also use them with stir- fries some of the time.
6ft,33, hypothyroid, plantar fasciitis, Sleep Apnea, wifey & caregiver to a hunny w/ Cerebral Palsy, I've lost 80 lbs, 27 more to go!
no longer on Sb due to food sensitivities, but I still eat healthy!

So, Gypsie, what're your plans for the week? It's going to be spectacular and we're gonna do it together! I'm going to try to get a few projects started around here that I've been thinking about and I'm going to tweak my SB menus and get myself into a good routine before the holiday!

Enjoy your day!

This week I am going to try and make up sone stuff ahead of time so it is in the frig/freezer and I can just warm it up. That will help when I go home tired. I am also going to get a tuperware bowel filled with chopped up fresh veggies for instant snacks. Definitely drinking more water is my goal for this week.

My knees are a bit sore from my weekend but it was nice standing around the fire. LOL Everyone was roasting hot dogs, I cut my chicken breast up into strips and roasted it that way. Everyone laughed but hey, a girl has to do what she has to do. Besides it was tasty.

I have 32oz. of water drank already. I want to have 32 more drank by the time I go home from work.

Toodles...

ok i did a post out in general then found this one! like i said i am new here!
Hey everyone! i am new here and looking for ANY and all help/ ideas/encouragement. I did the SB about 6 years ago when I was 16 years old and went from a size 18-20 to a 10-12. i kept most of the weight of for quite a while until i got pregnant at 18 and blew up to 310. since then i have been trying to lose wait, but never made the commitment to actually diet(you know, just kept saying i'll just watch what i eat or how much , i'll start on monday). there has always been some excuse as to why I have not done it, but now i have the perfect excuse to push me! on top of the fact that i want to be a healthier happier mother, I am engaged to be married on 4/10/2010! I bought my dream dress off of the clearance rack quite a while ago and they only had a 16! i wear a size 22 right now and i am DETERMINED to fit in that dress and maybe even have it taken in! so, I know i did it before and i will do it again, but any opinions are way more than welcome! Currently my starting weight is 330lbs. my goal is that within a year i will weigh no more than 250 and eventually i would be happy at a weight of 165(i am 5' 11" much skinnier than that i look like i am getting sick!) So I just wanted to say HI! introduce myself and ask is it logically possible to go from a 22 to a 16 in 5 months? i am looking to begin a paper route and buy a bike very soon as well! any other suggestions to speed things along? also how long is it safe to B on phase 1. i know it is supposed 2b 2 weeks but i have done it for a month b4 any idea how long is OK?
starting weight 330 size 22
goals- fit in my size 16 wedding dress by 4/10/2010
final goal weight- 160
I will do this! my family deserves a better wife and mother!

Welcome!
I'm just an inch taller than you :).

Ph1 was designed by Dr Agatson to be two weeks for a reason--- any longer than that is NOT healthy, and really does not speed up weight loss AT ALL. Phase 1 is mainly to get rid of carb cravings. Yes most people loose a good bit of weight in P1, but most of it is water weight, and by the end of 2 weeks you have lost all of that. Phase 2 is where the real weight loss begins!

I honestly don't know if it is possible to loose that many sizes in 5 months.... it's taken me 3+ years to go just from a 20+ (I wouldn't buy anything over size 20, but in reality I was probably a size 22 when I started) to 18, where I am currently.
I will say, though, that it probably depends a lot on a person's body type.
Hope that helps :)

hello mrsmeans410,

Welcome to the beach. I believe the size change could be doable is you are really focused on your diet and you are exercising to tone up the muscles. When I was on the diet before, I lost 120 lbs in 2 years. However, do it safely. Staying in phase one will create other problems as well as plateaus. Fitting into that dress is not worth your health. Also, you can find a good seamstress to make some adjustments if need be.

Give it your all and go for it. I believe a person can do anything when they set their mind on it. Good luck and keep us posted.

thanks for the support guys! well i have decided i am going to go with what feels right as i get there. I only started yesterday, and lost 2 lbs?!?!! is that possible? my totally uneducated guess/ theorry is that i NEVER drink water and suddenly have NO other drinks in the fridge(except my daughter's skimm milk and juice which i will no touch). i drank 12 thats right TWELVE glasses of water yesterday bc i was looking for food (i think out of habit and this was a better idea than eating(i actually put a sign on my fridge saying go drink the water!) i have a really hard time excersizing normally, so to start out i took my daughter for a walk as soon as i got home today about 4 blocks down and 4 back, and once i get her to bed, since there is someone else in the house, fiance and i will go for a longer one. i walk at a lesurly pace, but hey at least it is something right!

also, i live in PA swimming is not an option, but i fell a year ago and my knee is still painful most of the time, plus the weight compunds the problem, so any ideas on effective workouts that won't leave me crying? :?:

Hi MrsMeans!

You might want to take a look on http://www.collagevideo.com Click on Specialty videos on the left, then click on Seated exercise. I've never tried these but I hear you can get a pretty good aerobic workout with no stress on the knees.

Let us know if you try it! Good luck with your journey.
